Sequel Part 1: Kris & Tao
Compelled to LoveFive Years Later
“What a brilliant ing idea, Kris!” Tao burst ironically as the metal wrapped firmly around his wrists. “Mother ing brilliant!”
“Shut up!” Kris growled, making yet another attempt at fleeing from the three policemen that surrounded him. He did not succeed this time either. The policemen escorted them to the cars and forced them into them, head first. Tao glared at Kris from the other end of the backseat. “What?!” Kris growled again. Tao shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.
“You’re an idiot, that’s all,” he replied. He turned to look out the window as the police in the front drove away from their crime scene. “How long do you think we’ll be imprisoned?” Tao asked after a while. Kris stared at his handcuffed wrists.
“What the do I know?” he mumbled, sounding quite bitter and emotional suddenly. Tao looked at him and slowly began to chuckle. This made Kris turn his head to his window.
“Are you afraid or something?” Tao then wondered. When Kris did not reply, he continued, “You? Kris, is afraid? Of what? You’re a big guy, so you’ll do fine. I mean the other criminals won’t even touch you, I bet. And they certainly won’t touch me since I am a pro in martial arts! And one more thing, you look like a badass now since you got the tattoos and all. So don’t worry, we will be out in a heart beat and then we can take over the world again!”
“Will you just shut the up?” Kris sighed. “I’m not worried. I’m not afraid. I don’t feel ing anything. And I like feeling that but it’s hard to concentrate on it with you blabbing all the ing time!”
“Fine, I’ll shut up then,” Tao muttered. The both guys leaned back and waited impatiently for the ride to the police station to be over. They had only been told by the police that they would face charges of two things so far; fraud and smuggling of drugs. But something else gnawed at Kris’ mind during that car ride, another person. A girl, in fact. Kris set his jaw; the mere thought of that girl and the guy she was with made his nostrils flutter with anger. But he calmed himself with the fact that they had not seen that couple in over five years now, so there would most likely not be a trial against them for what they had done to her. Kris could not think of a worse time to have her strolling inside the court room with her fancy clothes and those scared eyes. The jury would undoubtedly believe every word she said just because of her beauty and trustworthy appearance. Suddenly, the car stopped and two policemen stood outside the car door to him to the building. Kris decided that it would be meaningless to fight now, because that would cause him more trouble than it would actually help him. He glanced back at Tao, who also followed the policemen obediently, and then looked ahead of him. As a rich boy, Kris had always lived with the idea that you could buy yourself out of practically anything but he did not believe it was going to be so easy this time around.
“Ah, Wu Kris and Huang Zitao. I recognise you all right,” another policeman exclaimed as they were brought inside the building. Kris and Tao exchanged looks with one another and then stared blankly at the policeman, who looked more like the chief of police.
“Well we don’t know you, officer,” Kris said acidly. The chief gave them an askew smile in return.
“Don’t be so cocky, -head. Your father has been to this police station on several occasions for all sorts of reasons. I remember you from the time he got convicted and you, as the small boy you were then, started sobbing and fooled us all that perhaps you wouldn’t become like your father one day. But I see now that wealth has gone to your head and overwhelmed you. It makes me sad to see almost all boys in your age follow their fathers so blindly, without any sense of direction of what they want to accomplish in life, nor possibility to do the things they want to do. I understand that it’s hard for all boys growing up, finding themselves and being able to live with oneself for the rest of one’s life. Might be even more difficult for guys like you two. No leadership, no loving father, no supportive mother...” Kris raised his brow; did this chief constable honestly believe he would crumble to the floor and cry like a baby now? He scoffed. Not gonna happen. “Or even sometimes, it’s friends who lead us down the path of criminality and never ending darkness. Isn’t that right, Zitao?” Kris’ eyes immediately flew to Tao who had lowered his head. He frowned.
“Tao? What the is wrong with you?!” Kris shouted.
“Don’t fuc
