Chapter 49
Compelled to LoveAuthor’s POV
“Mi Song! Oh, my God! What are you doing?!” Mirae rushed to Luhan’s side and helped him sit up. “Are you okay?” she worriedly asked Luhan then turned her head to Mi Song. “What the hell is wrong with you?!” She gritted her teeth. Mi Song glared at them both.
“I freaking saved you from being ! That’s what happened! I’d like it if you showed a tiny more appreciation,” she sneered. Mirae gaped.
“What? I wasn’t getting ! What the hell are you talking about!?” she shouted out in defence. Mirae could hear the whimper from Luhan and instantly panicked for not being able to do anything about his pain. “Honey?” she mumbled worriedly, his hair out of his eyes.
“I’m talking about him!” Mi Song shouted, pointing at Luhan who still bent over on the ground, looking as though he would faint soon. “I heard you scream on the phone and the line died and then you screamed just now! What am I supposed to assume? That bastard-!”
“His name is Luhan!” Mirae got up on her feet. “What call are you talking about? You haven’t called me in months! And we met yesterday,” Mirae said. Mi Song sighed loudly.
“I was at your house, looking for you and I met the guy. He claimed to be his best friend. This is truly becoming annoying, Mirae. I don’t know what to think about you anymore. It’s like I don’t know you whatsoever! Since when have you had that other guy in your home and why are you and that person lying all the time? I heard the strangest story about him, how he got betrayed and a lot of other things! What kind of bull it was, I don’t know. I don’t care about it. I’m just angry at you for lying or rather not tell me what’s going on! Don’t you trust me?” Mi Song sobbed. Mirae swallowed hard. Without a word, she pulled Mi Song into her arms, hugging her tightly.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled. Inside, Mirae knew she had done little wrong in this situation but if Mi Song wasn’t going to stop blaming her unless she started listening, Mirae was willing to take the blame for now. “I’m really sorry, Miso. Can’t you please listen to me? I need you to understand everything, so if you want I’ll explain it all. Does that sound good?” Mi Song broke the hug, nodding her head. They slumped down on the warm grass, face to face.
“Why did you lie when I asked if you were in love with him?” Mi Song started off by asking.
Mirae took a deep breath; she needed inner collection before answering. Luhan sat up and observed the two. “His name is Luhan. And I didn’t lie, because at the time, I didn’t know what I felt for him. I’m being honest now.”
“So you’re in love with him then?” Mi Song sniffled.
“Why are you crying? Is it really that horrible?” Mirae asked, showing that she was hurt. Mi Song lifted her head to stare at Luhan. He managed to stand up, though he couldn’t stand fully straight.
“I hate you,” Mi Song hissed. Luhan looked the other way, not daring to meet her killing gaze. It was too judgemental for him to endure right now; it reminded him of so many things he did not want to think about in a vulnerable situation like this one.
“Mirae, I’m leaving,” he mumbled under his breath. Mirae grabbed his hand tightly.
“You’re not. You’re sitting down! We’re going to solve this before I break apart!” She roughly pulled Luhan down by her side then turned to Mi Song. “You’ve got no reason to hate him!” she spat out desperately.
Luhan chuckled lightly. “It’s okay, princess, you don’t have to defend me. She does have a reason... Several actually.” He smiled weakly, Mirae’s hair while he focused his attention on Mi Song. “Mi Song... I don’t know what to say, truthfully. I deserved that kick, I will never deny that. I’m really, really sorry. I know it’s not enough and that you don’t believe me, think I’m lying or faking it... What do you want me to say? That I’m fooling your best friend to get her in bed? I can’t, because I’m not.”
“I want you to get out of our lives!” came the ferocious reply.
“I cannot do that! I will not.” All three of them got quiet. Words weren’t spoken for over five minutes until both Mi Song’s and Mirae’s sniffling had ended. Luhan comfortingly rubbed Mirae’s back, holding her to him. He didn’t want her to feel this way, and he felt so responsible for it. While they sat in silence, listening to the wind sweeping through the trees and their clothes and people murmuring around them, Luhan pondered hard on what he could do. There has to be something... Anything... As if shot from the stars, an idea popped up in his head. He gasped, startling both the girls who looked up at him. Luhan l
