Although Lady Lee's background and early life was not much found in the Imperial Records, but it is known that before getting promoted to the rank of Dae Pyeol Sang Gung, Lady Lee was recorded to be a member of the Palace's sewing department as a seamstress.
Lady Lee had entered the Palace at a tender age of 13 and was trained for three years before she finally earned her official status as an official Palace attendant. She entered the sewing department at the age of 16 and thus she had stayed there until she reached the age of 18 when the King personally issued an order for her to serve in his personal chambers as one of his attendants.
A little over a year after Lady Lee was mutated from her original position in the sewing department, she received an official order from the Queen regarding her promotion to the rank of Sung Eun Sang Gung and titled Dae Pyeol Sang Gung prior to her with the King.

After she was promoted to Sung Eun Sang Gung, Lady Lee had been surprisingly one of the quietest member of the Inner Court and also among the other consorts of the King. Lady Lee has never been caught or recorded meddling with any kind of court affairs and had been described as an obedient and loyal cohort of Queen Deokbin.
Two years to her marriage with the King, Lady Lee brought forth her first and last offspring, Royal Prince Suk Hyun, who later was recorded as one of the greatest warrior hero in the history of Joseon era battles. There had been quite a few petitions addressed to the Imperial Palace to promote Lady Lee after the birth of her child, but unfortunately none of them came out approved for some reasons that the Imperial Court had refused to name.
Lady Lee's name was not mentioned much in the history, aside from her good relations with the other members of the Inner Palace and the Royal Court, and also for the achievements of her son. It was only after her death that it became known to public about her kind demeanors and uncountable goodness after a large mass of people, from commoners up to royals came up for her funeral and took the bestest chance they've got to pay their last respects.
