Min groaned as she hobbled through the front door of her apartment, her entire body aching- cold chills overcoming her as her temples pulsated from a horrible headache that was getting worse over time. She even had to leave work early as a result.
Putting her things down on the kitchen counter after locking the door behind her, she continued down the hall and toward her bedroom, where she would happily pass out in an attempt to keep from acknowledging the fact that she was getting sick.
Unknowingly, she had left her phone on vibrate and in her bag in the kitchen, and by the time she hit the bed she was already succumbing to the sleep, she needed to keep her spirit at bay.
Four hours passed and she was still sleeping, her mind completely shut off from the world. A sleep so deep she hadn't heard the front door open. Or the kitchen cabinets being opened. Or the clattering of pots and pan. Or the clumsy chopping of the vegetables, followed by some curse words of how carrots were ing impossible to work with. No, it wasn't until the smell of homemade chicken soup wafted through the house that she realized someone else was in the house and finally woke up.
Allowing her nose to crinkle as it took in the delicious smell of fresh herbs and spices, and boiled chicken and vegetables, Min slowly sat up groggily, holding her head only slightly as some of the pain from earlier had finally subsided. The door to her room came to a slow open, a tray coming into view and leading the way for a familiar face to trail behind as he carefully carried it to her.
