"Morning, Princess," Kris greeted with a smile as he picked up the pink teddy to make room for him to sit on the edge of the bed with his back leaning against the wall. The small girl, who was now wide awake, leaned over to pet the toy in Kris' hand as he affectionately pet the back of her head. The morning sun was slowly creeping through the blinds, creating shadows behind them in their form. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day.

"Where's mom?" The young girl with doll-like features asked as she looked up at Kris with a raised brow.

"I don't work today so I'm letting her sleep in."

She nodded but then stared down thoughtfully before looking up at him. "Does that mean you're taking me to school?"

Now it was his turn to raise a brow. "Do you mind if I do?'

"I guess not," She shrugged. "But mommy always make me my lunch. How are you going to handle that?"

For a moment he was taken aback. She had never resembled her mother more until that very moment. But he immediately smiled his big bright smile. To be like her mother was blessing. Not only was she just as beautiful, but she had that sweet and spunky character just like her. He knew he wouldn't have to worry about her. "God, you take after your mother. Just go get ready, please. I'll handle lunch." He ruffled her hair playfully making her giggle before she jumped out of the bed and headed for the bathroom.

As he let her get ready, Kris decided that it was best that he also headed back to his own room to get out of his sleeping clothes, a white V-neck shirt and dark blue sweat pants, and into a more appropriate attire. But upon walking into his room on the other side of the second floor hall, he saw the most beautiful woman in the world sitting up on their bed.
