Go away (but move closer)

Final

As a relationship moves forward and time goes by, meeting each other’s parents becomes almost inevitable. They both avoided that meeting, pushing it away for as long as they could: Jongin didn’t want Kyungsoo to meet his father, the business man he looked up to; Kyungsoo wasn’t sure how his parents would react if he brought a man home because even though they knew about his ual orientation, he didn’t know how they would act once they really had to face it.

But their parents kept insisting and insisting. Since their sons wouldn’t stop talking about their boyfriend (they had agreed on not to talk about the engagement for now), of course their parents would like to meet them. So they planned those meetings once exams had ended and they would finally have some holidays.

Kyungsoo met Jongin’s parents first because, as he argued, they lived on the same city as they studied so it would be easier to just meet them. They were going to have dinner at the Kim’s house and for that Kyungsoo took a cheesecake for the dessert that he himself had made. Kyungsoo tried to convince that the best was to just buy something that would certainly be good but Jongin assured him his mother would appreciate the gesture (and Jongin definitely liked to taste everything Kyungsoo tried to make before sticking with the cheesecake).

They were both awfully nervous once Jongin opened the door but it was really unnecessary. Jongin’s father was immediately enchanted by Kyungsoo’s eyes, which he immediately complimented to make the younger feel more comfortable.

“T-Thank you.” Kyungsoo stuttered, looking down at the cake he still held, a light blush on his cheeks. “It’s really a pleasure…and an honor to finally meet you. I really admire your work even before I met Jongin.”

“Oh, really?” Mr. Kim chuckled, patting Kyungsoo’s shoulder warmly as he glanced at his son. “Jongin never told me that before. We should have met sooner then. If you ever want to ask me something, feel free to, Kyungsoo.”  Kyungsoo raised his head at the suggestion and he nodded happily and excitedly at the older man as he flashed him his heart-shaped smile. He felt like a kid but he couldn’t really care. It’s safe to say that Mr. Kim immediately fell in love with his (hopefully) future son-in-law. Jongin, annoyed, groaned as he watched them, restraining himself from hiding Kyungsoo away from his father.

Then there was Jongin’s mother who was, definitely, like Jongin. At first, she almost didn’t talk to him, avoiding his eyes and only telling him what any polite person would say. It was obvious she didn’t like him just like Jongin didn’t at first. Kyungsoo heard it from her own mouth when she was in the kitchen with Jongin and thought that the big eyed man wasn’t there. Kyungsoo felt tears stinging his eyes almost immediately but he breathed in and out, calming himself down because she wouldn’t like him even more if he was a cry baby.

Dinner was a little uncomfortable for Kyungsoo because of this and Jongin couldn’t help but feel worried about his boyfriend, constantly asking him in whispers if he was okay. Only after dessert things got a little better. Even if reticent, Mrs. Kim ate what Kyungsoo had cooked and to her surprise, it was actually good and she even ate a second slice. She thought Kyungsoo would never be able to be good enough for her son (she has to admit she would be happier if he was a woman) but he the kid really did know how to cook. At least her son wouldn’t starve.

When they said goodbye, with Mr. Kim grinning widely at Kyungsoo and Jongin glaring at his father, Kyungsoo bowed politely and looked directly at Mrs. Kim.

“Thank you for the dinner, it was really delicious.” Kyungsoo bowed again. “I’ll take good care of your son and try hard to make him happy and be a good boyfriend so I hope you’ll be able to see me favorably in the future.” Kyungsoo smiled and bowed one more time at Jongin’s parents before heading to the door.

Jongin and his mother tensed up when they heard those words and suddenly they both knew Kyungsoo had heard her in the kitchen. Jongin pampered Kyungsoo as much as he could that night. Mrs. Kim felt really bad all of a sudden, just like Jongin had felt when Kyungsoo told him he knew he didn’t like him, because the kid really hadn’t done anything wrong.

But just like Jongin changed, Mrs. Kim changed as well after hearing those words. She was much nicer to Kyungsoo on their next meeting and sometimes she would just stop and stare at Kyungsoo, analyzing him over and over again. Then all of a sudden, once she showed up at Kyungsoo’s apartment and asked him to go shopping with her, only the two of them. In another day, she also asked to have dinner with Kyungsoo alone and used that time to make questions.

“How old are you? What do your parents do? What do you like?” These were normal questions that anyone would ask but then she wanted to know more about Jongin and Kyungsoo’s relationship and things were much more embarrassing after that. “How did you meet? Who confessed first? Have you had already? You’re not thinking about having kids soon, right?” Kyungsoo answered to all those questions as honestly as possible without telling too much. There are some stuff that should only stay between him and Jongin.

Slowly, Mrs. Kim started liking Kyungsoo more and more and when once Kyungsoo saw her on the street, carrying several shopping bags and quickly helped her with them, walking with her till she reached her car, Mrs. Kim suddenly didn’t have anything bad to say about Kyungsoo anymore. After this, she was completely in love with Kyungsoo, hugging him tightly whenever they saw each other, calling Jongin to ask him when he was bringing Kyungsoo home again, wanting to go out with Kyungsoo on her own, sitting next to him whenever she could… Her behavior did a 180 degrees flip, just like someone Kyungsoo knew would do.

“Jongin really takes after his mom.” Kyungsoo whispered him to himself, sighing in relief when Jongin and his mom both stood up to get him some water. They were fighting for his attention lately.

“He really does, right?” Mr. Kim agreed as he sat up next to the younger. Even though he absolutely adored Kyungsoo, he always gave him space (he would honestly do whatever Kyungsoo asked him to). “If you want an advice, whenever Jongin makes an odd request just immediately say yes. You’ll end up saying yes anyway so it saves you time and a lot of uncomfortable situations. My wife is the same.”

“Yeah, I know.” Kyungsoo sighed. “I learned that in the hard.”

He really should have met Mr. Kim sooner.

After getting to know the Kim’s family, Jongin eventually had to meet Mr. and Mrs. Do as well. Since it was holidays, Kyungsoo was supposed to spend some time at his parents and that year, he took Jongin along with him (there was no way that Jongin would stay a whole month without his boyfriend).

Kyungsoo’s parents were a little unsure about the idea since they didn’t know Kyungsoo’s boyfriend at all but they ended up agreeing with it anyway. If Kyungsoo was happy, they were happy.

Jongin was a mess once they got the Do’s house, much more nervous than Kyungsoo was when he met his parents.

“How do I look?” Jongin asked for the nth time as he checked his reflection on his car, running his hand through his hair, fixing his clothes, looking at his face from every possible perspective.

“You look fine, Jongin.” Kyungsoo assured him, pecking his boyfriend’s cheek and guiding him to the door. “Stop worrying so much.”

“But if they don’t like me? What am I going to do?”

“You haven’t even met them so stop worrying about it. I survived to your parents so I’m sure you’ll survive to mine as well.”

“Still…” Jongin sank his teeth on his lower lip, searching for Kyungsoo’s hand and holding it tightly.

“Can we get in now, Jongin?” Kyungsoo softly asked, rubbing his thumb over the younger’s knuckles. Taking a deep breath, Jongin nodded and Kyungsoo was finally able to open the door of the house where he grew up. “Mom? Dad? I’m home.” He called too soon from Jongin’s point of view and in less than a minute, Mrs. Do was joining them on the hall and hugging Kyungsoo tightly in her arms. Discreetly, Jongin removed his hand from Kyungsoo’s, feeling like his chest could explode at any minute.

“I missed you so much, darling.” Mrs. Do said, pecking her son’s cheeks.

“Me too.” Kyungsoo smiled warmly at his mom who smiled back at her son before glancing at Jongin.

“And who’s this handsome young gentleman?” Kyungsoo’s mom has always been a warm person that always worried about making other’s comfortable. Jongin blush a little, embarrassed at the comment.

“I-I’m Jongin. Kim Jongin. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Do.” He reached out his hand towards the older and short woman, who immediately took his hand, at the same time he bowed. “I’m a…” Jongin glanced at Kyungsoo. “Hmm…”

“You’re Kyungsoo’s boyfriend. I know.” She chuckled, shaking the other’s hand as she kept smiling at him. “You don’t need to be afraid to say it.”

“I’m s-sorry.”

“It’s okay. And nice to meet you too, Jongin.” Jongin sighed in relief. It wasn’t that bad.

“Where’s dad?” Kyungsoo then asked as the three headed to the living room. Their luggage was still in the car but they didn’t mind getting it later.

Kyungsoo’s mom hesitated a little on the hallway when her son made that question and she turned around to face the two.

“Hum, about that, Kyungsoo,” She seemed to be a little unsure about that, taking a glance at the door that would lead them to the living room. “Your father has been in a terrible mood since he heard about…Jongin staying here so…try to go slowly.” Jongin’s expression immediately fell which didn’t escape the others’ eyes.

“It will be alright.” Kyungsoo told him, holding his hand again.

“It will.” Mrs. Do assured him. “Just give him some time to get used to the idea. He has nothing against you so don’t take anything he might say personally, okay?”

Jongin nodded, thankful for those words and kicking away all the insecurities. He needed to do this for Kyungsoo, who would probably be worrying about this as well. After all, Kyungsoo knew his father very well and even though he was a very gentle man, when he didn’t like something, he was more stubborn than anyone he knew.

The three entered the living room and found Mr. Do sitting on the couch, watching a random show with a frown on his face. Flashing one of her best smiles, Kyungsoo’s mother walked closer to her husband.

“Kyungsoo is back, honey.” The man immediately looked towards Kyungsoo’s direction and the latter was glad to see him smile and stand up to give him a hug.

“Hi, dad.”

Kyungsoo tried to keep the hug for as long as possible because he knew what was coming next but, eventually, his father’s eyes fell on Jongin. The youngest of all visibly tensed up but held Kyungsoo’s dad stare firmly, keeping a straight posture and a serious expression.

“This is Jongin, dad.” Kyungsoo introduced, stepping away from his father to stand next to his lover. “My boyfriend.”

“Nice to meet you, sir.” And Jongin bowed politely at him before reaching out his hands towards the older man.

“I’m sorry if I can’t say the same to you at the moment.” Mr. Do sincerely replied, shaking Jongin’s hand. He used so much force that Kyungsoo widened his eyes at how much that would have hurt. But Jongin’s face didn’t show any kind of pain. He needed to be strong. Kyungsoo frowned at his dad.

“Dad!”

“it’s okay, Kyungsoo.” Jongin said, facing Kyungsoo dad directly before bowing his head. “I’ll make sure that changes, sir.”

“I see.” Kyungsoo’s father nodded. “It will be fun to see you try.”

Everyone understood very well what he meant with that.

“Dad.” Kyungsoo gritted his teeth as he warned his father once again. His father had always hoped that Kyungsoo would bring a girl home even if he knew his son liked the both genres and because of that, he was obviously putting Jongin under pressure, blaming him for taking Kyungsoo away from a woman.

“My husband has been tired lately.” Mrs. Do interfered, holding her husband’s arm. “Don’t mind him Jongin. Why don’t you go get your bags?”

That’s exactly what Jongin and Kyungsoo did but before the latter sent a glare at his father. When they were outside, Kyungsoo immediately faced Jongin, holding his face between his hands and kissing him softly.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“No.” Kyungsoo quickly kissed him again. “My hand hurts.”

“Did he squeeze it too hard?” Kyungsoo smiled, looking at the younger’s pout. Of course Jongin wouldn’t complain about the words his father said.

“I think he broke my bones.”

“Don’t be a baby.”

Jongin was cute.

“Yeah, ask your father to shake your hand like that and we’ll see who the baby is.”

But Jongin was an idiot as well. Kyungsoo would have to make sure he gave him lots of love for the next month. He wanted to make him feel at home even if his father was being a stubborn jerk.

Kyungsoo would really have to knock some sense into that man’s head.

Dinner that day was awfully quiet and awkward and because of that, Kyungsoo completely snapped at his father when it was over and they had a pretty ugly fight.

“If you didn’t accept my choices, you should have told me so!” Kyungsoo shouted once to which Mr. Do replied with “I thought you were smart enough to make the right choices!”

And it carried on like this till Kyungsoo just didn’t have any more patience and just locked himself on his room where Jongin was waiting for him; he knew very well that sleeping on the same room with Jongin that night was just going to annoy him but he really didn’t give a . After that day he just wanted to cuddle with his boyfriend and forget about everything else. He would have done more than just cuddling actually, but Jongin didn’t want to make things even worse. And he was right. They shouldn’t cross the line…at least not for now.

The next days were terrible to be optimist. Kyungsoo wouldn’t even talk to his father and Jongin had no idea of what he should do. He tried to get closer to Mr. Do, trying to show him that he was actually a decent guy that would treat Kyungsoo like a king; he had never been that nice to anyone before but it still didn’t work at all. The man was really stubborn and he couldn’t just accept that his son was sharing a bed with another man; a man that Kyungsoo considered to be a queer right from the beginning. It was really stereotypical but everyone that liked men, except for his son, were bound to be feminine and girly and Jongin was having a hard time convincing him about the opposite.

At least Kyungsoo’s mom liked him more and more every day.

Things only changed when on Friday, on Mr. Do’s poker night, Mrs. Do somehow managed to put Jongin in the game as well. Kyungsoo’s father didn’t like the idea one bit because his friends were there but he decided to just shut up since he wasn’t the most popular person in the house at the moment.

Jongin turned out to be a great surprised: he was a terribly good player and it was just a question of time till most of the poker chips were on his side. If they were really betting real money, the older men would be broke at the time. Kyungsoo’s father was visibly impressed and so were his friends. Kyungsoo, who was watching from the couch, couldn’t help but smile at that.

“Who is this kid again?” The eldest of the men asked, leaning back against his chair because he had already given up on the game. Jongin was too good for him. Mr. Do hesitated, not sure about what to answer.

“He’s my boyfriend.” Kyungsoo answered instead, standing up to stay by his lover’s side. The room was silent for a while and Jongin thought that maybe Kyungsoo shouldn’t have said that because Kyungsoo’s father became as white as a ghost.

“That’s common nowadays.” One of the men said, not sounding like he didn’t fully support it but that had nothing against it either.

“I have a couple like you living next door.” The one sitting at Jongin’s left added, patting the younger’s shoulder. “If you’re half as cute as they are, you are going to be happy.”

“You don’t know how lucky you are.” The one who asked who Jongin was told directly at Kyungsoo’s father. “I have a daughter-in-law and she’s such a .” The older men laughed together because they had obviously heard stories about the .

The night ended rather well with Jongin and Kyungsoo getting pats on their shoulders before everyone left. Mr. Do went to his room without saying a word.

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

Mr. Do changed his attitude a little after this. His comments stopped and after analyzing Jongin with more attention than before, he realized there was nothing feminine about him. If he didn’t know Jongin was his son’s boyfriend (saying that still sounded weird to him), he wouldn’t even say he was gay. So he decides to give Jongin a chance.

They have a really long talk on that afternoon in which Mr. Do literally wanted to know everything about Jongin from when he was born till the present day, wanting to know what he saw in Kyungsoo, with how many he had been with before (were they women or men?), what were his intentions, what he liked to do… Jongin never felt so after having a conversation with someone (except when he has those naughty talks with Kyungsoo and he gets literally ).

When the questions seemed to have ended, Kyungsoo’s father just nodded and walked away, locking himself in his room.

“How did it go?” Kyungsoo asked, wrapping his arms tightly around Jongin when Jongin asked him for it.

“I seriously don’t know.”

They saw Mr. Do again at dinner and it seemed like he had something to say because, well, he said so.

“I…I want to start by apologizing for my behavior in these last few days.” He started, looking at Kyungsoo and Jongin. “I said things that I shouldn’t have said and I wasn’t fair with you two. I just wasn’t…prepared for it and for that I’m really sorry.” Jongin and Kyungsoo looked at each other, nodding at the older man. “And I also want to say that I’ve judge your relationship and Jongin wrongly but I’ve learned my lesson now. I'll try to be different from now on. I can't promise I'll be able to deal with this like my wife does right away...but I'll try. Just give me some time to get used to the idea." Kyungsoo's father sighed, looking at his son with hopeful but apologetic eyes. "Do you think that's okay? Can you forgive me?"

Kyungsoo felt his eyes being filled with tears and he ran to his father, holding his waist tightly.

"Of course I can forgive you, dad." He nuzzled against his father's chest, something he hadn't done for a while, as the older man brushed his hair with his fingers.

"How about you, Jongin? Do you think you can give me another chance?"

"Of course, sir."

"Friends?" Jongin was really close to shouting out his excitement after hearing that but he kept his cool, nodding.

"Yes. I would be really happy with that."

"Then we're friends, for now, Jongin. You're a good guy."

"Thank you, sir."

Things went pretty smoothly after this and their days became filled with joy. During the day, Jongin and Kyungsoo stayed at home making out, cuddling and having or left the house to go on dates while Mr. and Mrs. Do were at work. At night, they would watch TV and spend some time with Kyungsoo's parents. Jongin became a regular on Mr. Do's poker nights as well. They were finally getting along. Once, Mr. Do commented on how similar Jongin and the CEO of the Kim Industries were and the man almost had a heart attack when he found out Jongin was his son. Kyungsoo's father never really cared about money but the fact that Jongin was the son of an important man might have helped Kyungsoo's father to accept his sons boyfriend completely once and for all.

Too soon, the last week they would be staying at Kyungsoo's house came and they had to leave. But not, of course, before traumatizing Kyungsoo's father forever. They had been always careful about not kissing or doing anything too touchy in from of Mr. Do for the obvious reasons but once Jongin had Kyungsoo pinned up against the hallway's wall, rocking his hips against Kyungsoo's, kissing him passionately as he held his when Kyungsoo's father arrived home and saw them right away. Blushing, the young couple apologized before running away. It was not their fault. Mr. Do never arrived that soon! Thankfully, they left the next day which would save them from embarrassment but means Mrs. Do was the one who would have to answer her husband’s questions about Kyungsoo and Jongin's life and how gay really worked.

They got along much better as time moved forward and before he even noticed, Mr. Do was already bragging about his son's boyfriend to everyone else.

"Do you think he likes me?" Jongin would often ask his lover.

"He might like you now...but he'll definitely love you in the future." Kiss. "Just like I do."

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

Jongin and Kyungsoo were really happy over the next few years. University allowed them to see each other every day and spend many good and hard times together. If Jongin didn't help Kyungsoo relax during exams when he was so stressed out he couldn’t sleep or if Kyungsoo hadn't helped Jongin with some of his study, they would both have failed miserably. They got each other's back.

Naturally, Kyungsoo graduated first after completing his master’s degree and this was a day full of mixed feelings to Jongin. As he watched Kyungsoo and Luhan (who had become Jongin’s best friend over the years but that was never able to bound with Kyungsoo completely after kissing Jongin and getting punched…twice) receiving their diplomas, Jongin wouldn’t help but wonder about the future.

He was happy that Kyungsoo had completed university successfully, and with the best grades of his class, but at the same time he couldn't help but be worried about their relationship after this. Jongin knew his heart would never belong to anyone but Kyungsoo but he was afraid that if they couldn't see each other as much as before, their relationship would be shaken; to tell the truth, he couldn't even imagine not being able to see Kyungsoo whenever he wanted like he was used to.

It's a justified fear that also made Kyungsoo shiver. He needed all the time he spent with Jongin so badly that he had no idea of how he would survive if that time decreased. So soon enough Jongin officially moved to Kyungsoo's apartment while they still didn’t have their own house. For a few moments, Jongin also considered asking Kyungsoo to move in to his house but then he remembered he had a mom and immediately rejected the idea. It was better to share Kyungsoo with Junmyeon and sometimes Jongdae as well than to share him with his parents; at the least the first two knew how to back off when they had to.

It was really weird to live together on the first days and Jongin and Kyungsoo kept getting embarrassed by everything. Even if Jongin already spent a lot of time together at Kyungsoo’s house before, it was different. Now they woke up on the same bed every day, they worried about what to cook for dinner and what they had to buy to fill the fridge again together; they watched TV together, took baths together, brushed their teeth, watched TV and cleaned together. There shared so much intimacy they wouldn’t stop blushing at each other. It was as if they were married (if they ignored the other people living in the house) and it made them both feel silly and young.

Something that had worried Kyungsoo a lot once he finished his master’s degree was how he would find a job; he searched for a position in several companies but even before he had to the opportunity to choose one, Kyungsoo was offered a job… by his future father-in-law.

Some might say that Mr. Kim only chose him because he was his son’s boyfriend (like Kyungsoo thought) but the CEO and Jongin knew very well he didn’t. He would never do that even if he had grown to love Kyungsoo as a son as well. Every year, he would ask his secretary to select the profiles of several students and cover their names because he didn’t want to get influenced by their last names that could belong to people he knew; then he would choose the ones that caught his attention the most based on their grades, personal information and projects they had done while in the university. Kim Jongmoon liked to give young men opportunities and watch them grow.

It was just a coincidence that Kyungsoo had been chosen that year.

“But…are you sure about this?” Kyungsoo asked once Jongin’s father told him about the job. “I’m not sure if-“

“Kyungsoo, you were a great student. I’m sure you’ll do fine. And I’ll be there to help you with anything you need.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Thank you so much!” Kyungsoo instinctively held the older man’s waist but once he remembered that Mr. Kim would be his boss he quickly pulled away. “Sorry. It’s inappropriate to hug…my boss.”

“That’s true…” Mr. Kim smiled at the younger his warmest smile. “But only at work. I’m still your father-in-law outside of work.” And then he opened his arms to the smaller man who immediately held him once again.

Watching them from the couch, Jongin scowled, groaned and pouted. It’s easy to figure out that Jongin wasn’t mentally prepared to see his lover working at an office filled with hungry and promiscuous men. Jongin hadn’t even thought about it till then but he didn’t like the idea.

The first couple of months since Kyungsoo started working, things weren’t easy for the two. Jongin kept calling Kyungsoo and asking him what he was doing, texting him whenever Kyungsoo didn’t reply, bombarding him with questions when he got home. Kyungsoo was really stressed because of him and Jongin even had to move back to his parent’s house for a week. Jongin’s father had to talk to his son to finally make him see that what he was doing wasn’t right and that Kyungsoo wouldn’t put up with him for much longer if he didn’t redeem himself. Jongin understood that very well and there was no way he would lose Kyungsoo just because of his own selfishness.

He apologized with a bouquet of flower and a slow and long night of love that brought Kyungsoo the hope that their relationship could actually work again.

And it did.

Jongin learned how to deal with the fact Kyungsoo worked with people he didn’t know by focusing on his own studies and making sure Kyungsoo loved and cherished what he had at home. There’s nothing Jongin wanted more than for that year to go as fast as possible. He trusted Kyungsoo with all his heart. He would even bet his life on the fact that Kyungsoo would never cheat on him. But that’s just how Jongin is: an idiot that is most possessive boyfriend in the world.

Kyungsoo knew that very well and even if many would think that was crazy, he loved that side of Jongin as well.

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

At Jongin graduation day, the brown haired man was almost boiling with happiness because Kyungsoo was there to see him, a beautiful grin on his face and Jongin realized just how happy he was to have him for the nth time since he had met him. He was, indeed, the luckiest man in the word.

When the ceremony was over, Jongin took Kyungsoo to place where they couldn’t be seen for a few moments and he chose an ancient tree living at the very end of the school garden. Its trunk was so thick that it covered their bodies easily and they held each other tightly, Kyungsoo’s head resting warmly against Jongin’s chest.

“Congratulations, Jongin.”

“Thank you, Kyungsoo. I wouldn’t have made it without you.”

“That’s not true.”

“Well, maybe I would still have graduated but it wouldn’t be the same. I wouldn’t be this happy.”

“You’re so cheesy.”

“Honest. Not cheesy.”

Jongin gently lifted Kyungsoo’s chin and connected their lips, tilting his head to the side as he moved his lips softly, making sure Kyungsoo knew how he felt, holding him so close people could mistake them as one and only one person.

“Kyungsoo…” Jongin called in a whisper, brushing his nose against Kyungsoo’s, eyes closed.

“Hmm?”

“Do you remember what you told once about getting married?” Jongin searched for Kyungsoo’s hand, touching the ring that he already wore for over three years. Kyungsoo smiled at the memory, nodding.

“I told you to wait till we graduated.”

“Does that mean…” Jongin opened his eyes, looking directly into Kyungsoo’s eyes. “…you’ll marry me now?”

“Do you mean it?” Kyungsoo’s eyes were shinning, his heartbeat quickening.

“Do you want me to kneel?” The younger moved down a little but Kyungsoo didn’t let him do it, bring him to a hug once again.

“There’s no need to do that.” Kyungsoo smiled. “You know it’s a yes.”

They got married two months later. They had to wait too long in Jongin’s opinion; his mom, however, thought they needed more time than what they had. It was a simple ceremony with only the closest friends and family. Junmyeon took Yixing with him; Jongdae finally introduced them his surfer, Minseok; Luhan flew from China on purpose just to attend their wedding… they really had good friends.

Kyungsoo and Jongin were really happy that day and their eyes were shinning the whole time, always smiling and looking at each other, whispering promises of eternal love… Jongdae wouldn’t stop pretending to gag. He stopped doing that, however, when Jongin caught him feeding Minseok food while talking like a baby.

They didn’t buy new wedding rings and kept the ones they already carried like a part of their body. But that didn’t matter. Knowing that they were now officially married was enough to both of them; Kyungsoo could no longer escape from Jongin (and the other way around worked too).

Their first wedding night was something they would remember forever. Their honeymoon… Seriously, travelling to Madrid was unnecessary if they were just going to stay in the room, lusting for each other’s body.

“Jongin?” Kyungsoo shouted once he heard the water stop running inside the bathroom where Jongin was taking a bath.

“What it is, baby?”

“We should go out and walk around the city for a little. We’re here for 3 days already and haven’t done anything yet.” Kyungsoo sighed, flipping the pages of his guide. He really wanted to go out and see the beautiful city they were in.

“We can do whatever you want, Kyungsoo. You know that.” And then Jongin left the bathroom with a towel hanging low on his waist, looking y, hot and wet. How could Kyungsoo’s body resist to that? “If you want to go out, that’s what we’ll do.”

Kyungsoo was weak. Really weak.

“You know what?” Kyungsoo threw his guide to the floor and walked towards Jongin, swinging his hips like a cat. “I think we can do that later.”

It was just a question of seconds till Jongin’s towel was dropping down on the floor.

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

Many people think that since Jongin was the heir, his father would immediately let him take him place in future. They couldn’t be more wrong. He would have never let Jongin take the lead of his company just for being his son. Hell no. Instead, he gave Jongin and Kyungsoo a challenge.

Their clothes factories were going down at an abnormally fast pace; the money spent was too much and they didn’t get half of the money back lately. Mr. Kim blamed on the person who was currently in charge of it. It was Jongin and Kyungsoo’s task to bring it back up.

It was really hard. Jongin had no experience on the field and Kyungsoo’s was not that big as well. They had some help, but most of the work had to be done by them, like Jongin’s father expected it to be.

It was hard. Really hard. They almost didn’t have time for each other for almost a year but they succeeded: the factories were soon back to their previous glory and they had both proved their skills. Kim Jongmoon was really proud of both of them.

Soon, Jongin was in charge of half his father’s business, as a CEO, with Kyungsoo always by his side. They made a terrifying team. Jongin was not of man that like calculus or number but analyzed them well and always made the right choices according to the situation; he made big and important business man change their minds with a flick of his wrist; he made his father’s empire grow substantially since he took control of the industries.

And then there was Kyungsoo who was only his secretary, officially, but was so important for the company that Jongin thought his position was unfair. He didn’t understand why Kyungsoo didn’t wish for a higher position and the older man never gave him an explanation. Kyungsoo was in charge of the finances, he organized Jongin’s schedule and made sure the younger didn’t break (probably the worst of all), he organized all the files while he coordinated everyone’s work because people only listened to him. Even if Jongin was the CEO, if he ever showed up in front of his employees and asked them to work harder they would just nod; if Kyungsoo was the one showing up in front of them, he didn’t even have to open his mouth for everyone to get back to work. It was insane. But more importantly, he cleaned up Jongin’s mess.

“I don’t understand why Kyungsoo doesn’t want another position in the company.” Jongin told his father once. “Do you know why?”

“Why don’t you ask him yourself?”

“I tried but he doesn’t tell me. I wished he wasn’t just my secretary. People who know him respect him but I see the way those men look at him in meetings. Why is he there if he is only my secretary?” Jongin ran a hand through his hair. “He is so much more than that.”

“I’ll try to talk to him, okay?”

Kyungsoo had a soft spot for his father-in-law just like his father-in-law had a soft spot for him so of course Kyungsoo told Mr. Kim the reason. But Mr. Kim didn’t tell Jongin. And Jongin held a grudge against both of them for a whole week till he decided to just drop the subject.

Four years went by since Jongin and Kyungsoo got married but it has been 7 years since they were together, however, their love for each other never once quivered; some might say it might be stronger than ever.

Over the years, they had to deal with a lot of stuff together. The first barrier, right on the beginning, was how to get a house that they both liked. Jongin wanted a big mansion like the one he grew up in while Kyungsoo wanted something simpler, he didn't even mind if it was an apartment. Jongin thought the last idea was just stupid but then his mother mentioned one expensive building where the apartments had a very good reputation. They both loved it. It was so big it didn't even look like an apartment (it occupied a whole floor for 's sake!). To make it better, their apartment was the last which meant an extra terrace where they often held barbecues. They decided to take it and even though Kyungsoo protested a little about the price but he was shut up by the view from the window of their room.

Even if he was picky with the house structure, Jongin didn't really care how it was decorated; even though, he was really glad he let Kyungsoo choose everything because the final piece was wonderful, especially the room, Jongin's favorite, with white walls, white curtains, dark, black wooden furniture, a white eiderdown but a black or red sheets according to the week. It was absolutely simple but sophisticated. He particularly liked it a little more when the sheets were black because he really loved to the see the contrast between the darkness and Kyungsoo's skin. Oh but there was another thing he loved about their bedroom. It wasn't the closest division to kitchen but whenever Kyungsoo woke up before him, he would wake up with smell of toasts and coffee of Kyungsoo's delicious breakfast. He really loved that and when his lover showed up in the bedroom with a tray on his hands with that same breakfast, Jongin couldn't help but think that was what heaven felt like.

The only inconvenience about their apartment at first was the elevator who seemed to take an eternity to reach their floor every time not because it was slow but simply because their floor was too high. But once, in a day the couple had been harassing each other at work, they couldn't take it anymore and they did it right there and then: in the elevator. on the elevator started being a regular thing in their life.

The second barrier Jongin and Kyungsoo had to kick their way through was no other than Jongdae, who had also started working at the Kim's Industries. At first, there wasn't any problem since Jongdae was in a different building and city but then his surfer and husband decided to open a shop in a new city and suddenly Jongdae was transferred to the office where Jongin and Kyungsoo spent their days. Things went well till Kyungsoo caught Jongdae playing a game on his computer and texting for the nth time in the same week and scolded him in front of the whole team. Jongdae felt so embarrassed that he swore to take revenge.

At a dinner to celebrate a new deal to which everyone went to, including Jongin and Kyungsoo, Jongdae put something in Kyungsoo’s drink. They never found out what Jongdae used but they soon knew it was him who created that mess- Jongdae wanted to take full credits for it.

It started with Kyungsoo getting hotter and hotter to the point he had to take of his blazer, his tie and part of his shirt. Then he started looking at Jongin with eyes that should only be seen inside their bedroom; a hand landed on the CEO’s crotch under the table and played with it. Kyungsoo’s face was flushed and he was talking loudly, as if he was drunk, telling people about his and Jongin’s life. Jongin couldn’t believe his ears and finally realized that something was definitely wrong. All the limits were broken, however, when Kyungsoo literally jumped to his lap and started kissing him as he rolled his hips against his, ty moans escaping from his lips along with requests for Jongin to him.

Their employees reactions was different from person to person: some looked away in embarrassment, others cringed their eyebrows to try to understand what was going on and other actually got by the sight. It was because of this last group (and because he had a whimpering husband on his arms bringing his to life) that he held Kyungsoo up and drove him home where they had one of the most exhausting night of their lives.

They had a few problems after this and some men even had to be fired or moved to a different office for harassing Kyungsoo at work. There’s no need to say that Jongin got a whole new respect and fear from his employees after this. A jealous husband was the worst thing any man could face.

As for Jongdae… let’s just say his suffer had to take care of his boyfriend for a week.

Most of Jongin and Kyungsoo’s fights were about work because Jongin sometimes was such a lazy and his secretary Kyungsoo had to keep him in line (even if Jongin was constantly pushing him down on his desk). It was mostly Kyungsoo who got mad at Jongin but Kyungsoo also screwed up once when he insisted to keep being friends with a business that Jongin despised; Jongin told him to stay away but he didn’t listen, thinking that Jongin was just jealous, but it was more than that.

Kyungsoo was a very wise man most of the times but somehow he was fooled and their company almost lost a lot of money because of that (not to mention that the man might have forced himself on Kyungsoo as well). Jongin shouted at Kyungsoo for the first time back then and Kyungsoo was never so scared in his life. He really thought he was going to lose Jongin at one point and he cried so hard for the days Jongin didn’t even go home. Thankfully, Jongin was gone only to fix things up with the help of his father and came back to reassure Kyungsoo he was not going to leave him.

“You didn’t listen to me and, yes, I was upset.” Jongin whispered as he held his sobbing lover in his arms, kissing him at the top of his head and rocking back and forth a little to try to calm Kyungsoo down. “But I would never leave you. People screw up. You don’t always have to be perfect.”

“I’m so sorry, Jongin! I…I didn’t mean to-“

“I know, baby. I know. It’s okay.” Jongin smiled, pulling away a little to clean the tears away from Kyungsoo’s face with his thumbs. “We got everything back and I made sure he understood we were never going to make any kind of deal with him again.”

Kyungsoo nodded, looking down as he sniffed cutely.

“I’m happy things worked out. But you should have told me something.” Kyungsoo covered his face with his hands when he was unable to control his tears again. “I know it’s my fault and I have no right to say that but-“

“Shh, Kyungsoo, it’s okay. I’m sorry for leaving you alone.” Jongin said, kissing Kyungsoo’s lips softly.

It was a very long night for the two of them; a night of love, promises, reassurance and cuddling.

Jongin and Kyungsoo were finally going to see Luhan after years of online talking through the phone or online. They had a deal to close. After all, Luhan was also the CEO of a company almost as big as the Kim’s Industries.

So he came to South Korea, where they discussed the terms of the contract and everything else. They could have gotten everything done in Korea but Jongin insisted to go to China a few days after Luhan’s departure and finish it there; that way, he could use that travel as an excuse to spend some days with his husband in what would be like a second honeymoon.

But Kyungsoo was really being a pain in the on the days before their flight to Hong Kong.

“If you want to spend a few weeks doing nothing in China, you need to get everything done before you go or we won’t even be able to breathe when we come back.” Kyungsoo repeated over and over again. “You understand that, right? So stop being a lazy and get back to work.”

“But-“

“Stop complaining, Kim Jongin. Work.”

Jongin never once thought his husband was so annoying. So with a sudden gust of courage and using a pair of balls that he never thought he had, Jongin took a flight to China without Kyungsoo a day before what was planned after only leaving a note on his desk for Kyungsoo to read. He knew Kyungsoo was going to get pissed off but he couldn’t take it anymore and believe me when I say Jongin was a very patient man.

Jongin tried not to think much about what he had done on the day he spent working with Luhan alone (it actually felt weird to not have Kyungsoo next to him) but when he got to the hotel that night and found Kyungsoo sitting on his bed, he completely turned into a chicken.

“Kyungsoo! My love!” Jongin’s voice was shaking in fear but Kyungsoo didn’t even blink as he stood up from the bed. “You know, I was really stupid for coming here on my own. It was not the same without you.” Kyungsoo was just a step away and Jongin pushed his back against the door. “Can you forgive me?”

Kyungsoo smirked.

“You know I always forgive you. Right, honey?”

For a few seconds, Jongin was stupid enough to believe that but then he was slapped, twice, and yelled at for 5 whole minutes.

“This is domestic violence!” Jongin complained after Kyungsoo held him by his collar and pushed him violently against the door.

“Call the police!” Kyungsoo pulled Jongin away from the door and pushed him down on the bed in less than a minute, stripping him .

Jongin’s punishment was similar to the one he had seven years ago…but much worse. Kyungsoo knew Jongin’s body much better now and he knew exactly how to move or where to touch to make the younger go through the worst and most pleasurable torture in the world. Jongin never begged so much before in his life and he never felt like such a either. He was embarrassed to even get out of bed the next day because his body was full of marks. Was that how Kyungsoo felt most of the time?

Even though he tried, Jongin was not allowed to stay in bed. But he refused to go out without a scarf around his neck to cover what Kyungsoo had done to him and he avoided walking as much as possible. Kyungsoo didn’t feel any pity of him. He was actually really proud of himself.

Luhan could only laugh at the two when the two walked into his office that morning.

The first week spent in China was a busy one with lots of paper work to do. The three were exhausted but Luhan seemed to be the worst of the three. While Jongin and Kyungsoo were there for each other, Luhan hadn’t the same luck. He had a boyfriend, Sehun, that he could only see at night and the lack of time they spent with each other was killing him. That’s exactly why they gave all they had to finish everything on time.

Everyone was happy when they were finally done, especially Sehun, who seemed to suffer from the same jealousy syndrome Jongin had. Sehun didn’t like Jongin at all.

That’s why instead staying in Hong Kong for the rest of their vacations, they flew to Beijing and Macau instead since they knew Sehun wouldn’t be at peace with them in the city. Not that they minded.

“They make a cute couple.” Kyungsoo commented on the plain, head rested on Jongin’s shoulder.

“They do.” Jongin answered, playing with Kyungsoo’s hand and ring.

“But I really feel bad for Sehun.” Kyungsoo confessed, making Jongin look at him in confusion.

“Why?”

“Luhan probably has to travel a lot and spent much time away from home like you do. I can follow you everywhere but Sehun can’t. He is just the chief of the sales department.” Jongin had never thought about that. As his secretary and assistant, it was normal for Kyungsoo to travel around with him. It’s what he does. But Sehun…

“I really am lucky, then.”

“You are.” Suddenly, Kyungsoo raised his head and looked at his lover, caressing Jongin’s face with affection. “Do you understand why I want to be just your secretary so much, now?” Jongin’s mouth fell open. “If you gave me another position…I would have my own schedule and I wouldn’t be able to follow you like I do.”

Jongin can’t describe how he felt after hearing that. He thought it was impossible to love Kyungsoo even more but there he was, feeling like an idiot after hearing Kyungsoo’s confession. Jongin held Kyungsoo really tightly and kissed him passionately after hearing that. It cursed the fact that they were in a plane. There was so much more he wanted to do.

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

Kyungsoo giggled, feeling Jongin’s lips tickling against his skin as he whispered ‘I love you’ over and over again. He hadn’t stopped saying that since they finished making love, their bodies falling tiredly on the hotel sheets, and he seemed to have no intentions of stopping in a near future.

“What’s wrong with you today?” Kyungsoo asked, holding Jongin’s hair gently to make him look at him.

“I’m just happy.” Jongin shrugged, smiling. “Really happy.”

“Why?”

“Because you finally told me why you just wanted to be my secretary and I really loved the reason.” The younger leaned down and pressed his lips against Kyungsoo’s. “I never knew my beautiful husband could be so sweet.”

“You’re still thinking about that?” Kyungsoo chuckled, poking Jongin’s cheek. “What did you expect? I do love you, remember?”

“Yes, but…you have no idea of how much that meant to me.” He hid his face against Kyungsoo’s neck, his chest pressed against the older’s. Kyungsoo smiled at himself as he ran his hand through Jongin’s hair, trying to ignore the tsunami of feelings he was having inside as well. Then, when Kyungsoo was almost closing his eyes, Jongin raised his head and looked down at his lover, a confident expression on his face. Kyungsoo immediately knew another of those requests was coming and he couldn’t help but laugh.

“What is it this time, Kim Jongin?”

Jongin’s cheeks turned a soft shade of pink, still not understanding how Kyungsoo always knew when he had something to ask. He hid his face on Kyungsoo’s neck again.

“Can we have a baby?”

There was a breath-taking silence from Jongin’s point of view, afraid of what Kyungsoo would say.

“Jongin…”

“Y-yes?” Jongin’s heart was beating so fast.

“A boy or a girl?”

tumblr_n0a940vdVF1tp9z89o1_500.jpg

They chose a girl. A baby girl with only 1 year old. If people didn’t know it was impossible, everyone would actually say she was their real daughter. She had Kyungsoo’s eyes and lips, Jongin’s skin tone and hair color and they absolutely loved her. Jongin, especially, was a totally softie whenever the subject was their daughter. He did everything she wanted. No wonder she was so spoiled. One day, she saw one idol on TV with blonde-bleached hair and she asked her daddy if he could get a hair like that. What did Jongin do?

Kyungsoo almost had a heart attack when Jongin got home, hair almost white, looking down at the floor as he rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.

“What the hell did you do to you hair?” Kyungsoo asked, practically shouted, running to his lover to touch his hair to see if it was actually real. It was.

“Soomin wanted me to dye it like this so…I did it.” Jongin looked at the older man. “Why? Don’t you like it? Is it that bad?”

“Well, I…” Kyungsoo wasn’t sure what he felt about it. It was so sudden. He wasn’t mentally prepared to see his lover turning blond.

 “Daddy! You did it!”

But of course their daughter liked it. She was absolutely in love with it for two months…till she stopped carrying about the color of her father’s hair. Jongin would have dyed it back to brown immediately after his daughter lost the interest but it was Kyungsoo who asked him to keep it for a little longer. Apparently he had a thing for that hair and Jongin started noticing that by the way Kyungsoo pulled his hair tighter when they made love at home or had a quickie in Jongin’s office. It was insane just how eager Kyungsoo always was to spread his legs for Jongin while he had that hair (not that he was different in the past).

Jongin was almost two years with blonde hair till he dyed it back to brown.

After Soomin, they adopted a little boy who wasn’t even a year old. They called him Jongsoo. Jongin wanted all his children to have part of Kyungsoo’s name for his own reasons.

“We’ll have a lot of work from now on.” Kyungsoo whispered as they both watched their new son sleeping on his crib. He looked like an angel, like Soomin said when she first saw him.

“Does that make you nervous?” Jongin whispered back, holding his lover from behind, resting his chin on Kyungsoo’s small shoulders.

“A little…” He leaned back against his husband.

“I’ll be here for you.”

“Like you have always been.” Kyungsoo turned his face to the side and they kissed slowly, softly, with care. “I love you.”

“I love you too, baby.”

It was the perfect timing for Jongsoo to start crying, wasn’t it?
