Chapter 5

Go away (but move closer)

Chapter 5 - Say yes

Kyungsoo expected Jongin to go over the boundaries, to speed up the natural order of everything. But surprisingly, he didn't. He let everything go smoothly and Kyungsoo has to admit that was a very good move.

Jongin was very gentle and sweet, funny and caring. He wasn't clingy; he wasn't annoying. He was just him and Kyungsoo really liked that way. Plus, he never broke the rule of not kissing or having with Kyungsoo. But he kissed Kyungsoo's cheek once, leaving them both red like two teenagers in love. Does that count? Jongin looked happy when he did that so Kyungsoo didn’t make a big deal out of it.

They spent a long time together like they had planned, even after school but nothing seemed forced or out of place. It felt normal to eat together, to walk each other to their classrooms, to head to Kyungsoo's home together, to go out with only the two of them. They were almost inseparable.

“Seems like you guys have been doing really well.” Jongdae teased, leaning over the table while Jongin was away, getting his and Kyungsoo’s lunch. “Was the that good?”

“That has nothing to do with you.”

“Rude.”

“But we helped…somehow.” Junmyeon added, leaning forward just like Jongdae was doing because he felt that Kyungsoo would feel more intimidated that way. “So you should tell us something. Are you guys dating?”

“Does it look like we’re dating to you?” Kyungsoo rolled his eyes, wondering when Jongin would be back.

“Yes.” The other’s answered in unison, earning a glare from the black haired male.

“But we’re not so I would like it if you shut up about it.”

“Why?” Jongdae smirked. “You shouldn’t hide your feelings, Kyungsoo.”

“Kim Jongdae, shut the up.”

“It’s obvious that you two are madly in love with each other. I don’t know why you’re so-“ A yelp stopped him from saying anything else when Kyungsoo suddenly kicked him hard under the table. “What the hell was that for?”

Jongdae would have made a bigger fuss about it if Jongin hadn’t just sat down next to Kyungsoo after putting the trays on the table. Kyungsoo smiled at the younger and shyly thanked him, leaving Junmyeon and Jongdae completely dumbfounded. What the hell? Kyungsoo was a terrorist to them but whenever he was around Jongin he looked like a totally different person, almost like a unicorn puking rainbows. And Jongin was like the happy elf traveling around on the unicorn’s back. The two were definitely something when they were together and they couldn’t understand how they were still not a damn couple. But then again, their relationship was never stable so the best they could do was to wait and see what happened before Kyungsoo threw a bomb at them (but they swore to take revenge!).

One of Jongin and Kyungsoo’s favorite ways of spending time together was sitting on Kyungsoo’s bed and watch a random movie. They didn’t pay much attention to what was being played on the TV though because they used that time to trade words about themselves, the movie and the actor’s voice serving only as a background sound.

“I can’t believe we were born on the same month and share the same blood type!” Jongin chuckled, resting his head on Kyungsoo’s shoulder. “We’re so different from each other.”

“One thing has nothing to do with the other.”

“I know. But some people think it does.”

Their conversations were pretty light most of the times, talking about what they liked, what they didn’t like, their favorite colors, childhood moments, habits… But there was something Kyungsoo was actually curious about for a while so he asked it one day.

“Jongin.” Kyungsoo looked down at the younger, who was once again leaning down on his shoulder.

“Hmmn?”

“Why did you transfer to this university?”

“Because it’s the one I’ve always wanted to attend.” Jongin answered casually; glad that Kyungsoo wanted to know more about him since most of the times it was Jongin who asked the questions.

“Then why didn’t you come here in your first year? Weren’t your grades good enough?”

“Yeah…” Jongin looked down, paying with his fingers. “I’m not a very brilliant student. So I tried to transfer to this city by the end of last year.”

“That’s a pretty hard thing to do.”

“I know…but I had some help.” Jongin raised his head and looked at Kyungsoo with a frown.

“What kind of help?”

Jongin didn’t answer right away, looking at Kyungsoo attentively as if to evaluate if it was safe or not to say it.

“You promise you won’t see me in a different way or think I’m lazy if I say it?”

“Well, of course. Why would I?”

“You see…” Jongin rubbed the back of his neck. “My parents are kind of…influential and since I’ve already refused their help during my 1st year, trying to do everything by myself, they didn’t let me say no this time. I had to take it.” Jongin nervously looked at Kyungsoo. “But I’m not proud of it. If I could, I would have tried harder till I managed to get here on my own.”

Kyungsoo smiled softly at the younger’s explanation.

“I understand. Parents can be burdensome sometimes. I won’t change my mind about you just because of that. I know you try hard.”

“Thank you.” Jongin sighed deeply in relief, going back to his previous position, head on Kyungsoo’s shoulder.

“That’s a dumb thing to thank me for.” Kyungsoo brushed Jongin’s hair gently. “But what do you mean when you said your parents were ‘influential’?”

“Ah, nothing much.” Jongin shrugged. “My father is the owner of the Kim Industries and I’m his heir so…”

“Are you ing kidding me?!” Kyungsoo held Jongin’s shoulders and forced him to look at him. “Your father is… Kim Jongmoon?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Wow. I worship him! I’ve always wanted to work for him!”

“Really?” Jongin frowned. “He’s nothing special.”

“Are you kidding me? He built an empire almost from nothing and he’s the number one CEO of Seoul! Not to mention that he is loaded.”

“I am loaded too.” Jongin pouted. “And I can be a CEO in the future.” But Kyungsoo was too busy talking about how awesome his father was and how he did this and that and Jongin had had enough. He ended up closing Kyungsoo’s mouth with his hand. “Can you stop? I know we’re not a couple but it’s not very pleasant to keep hearing you talk about another man, okay?”

Kyungsoo blinked a million times, wondering if Jongin really said what he thought he did. Yes. The younger was serious and Kyungsoo couldn’t help but blush at his jealousy.

“Jongin,” Kyungsoo removed his hands away gently. “He’s your father and married. There’s no need to be jealous.”

“That means nothing. He’s still a man. Don’t talk about him like that again in front of me, please.”

Jongin was serious, with not even a single trace of uncertainty or fun so Kyungsoo could only nod and say “Okay” because he was seriously pleased with that look on Jongin’s face. Kyungsoo's heart was stolen a little more when it skipped a beat.

During one of those days, wanting to do something different, Jongin suggested they would take a walk around the park and the conversation they had, arm in arm, as they walk next to the frozen lake was...interesting.

“How many boyfriends have you had till now, Kyungsoo?” Jongin suddenly asked, taking Kyungsoo’s hand in his to warm it up.

“Why do you wanna know?”

“I’m just curious.”

“Are you going to get jealous again?” Kyungsoo teased, like he has been doing since that other day.

“No. The past doesn’t bother me.” Jongin looked away, embarrassed, even if what he was saying was true.

“Alright then. I had, I think, 5 boyfriends and 1 girlfriend.”

“Wow.” Jongin raised his eyebrows.

“What? You think that’s too much?”

“No, but… I thought you were more bi than that.”

“I can swing both ways, yes. I like to flirt with women…but I like to be taken by a man.”

“Would you be mad if I said you just sounded like a ?”

“You already did.” Kyungsoo hit the younger softly.

“Sorry.”

“How about you? How many?” Kyungsoo asked because he was also a bit curious about it but he wondered if that was the smartest thing he did when he saw Jongin using his hands to count, fingers going up and down repeatedly.

“Does boyfriends and girlfriends that only lasted for a week count?”

“Why would you date someone for only a week?”

“I don’t know. Many people confessed to me in high school and I didn’t have the courage to tell them no so I… let them spend a wonderful week with me before I dumped them.”

“How sweet.”

“I got a pretty bad reputation because of that back then.”

“No wonder. If I had dated everyone who had confessed to me till now I wouldn’t have had any rest.” Kyungsoo chuckled, finding it rather cute that the younger couldn’t refuse someone’s feelings, not noticing the way Jongin looked at him when he added that. Just how many people could have confessed to Kyungsoo? “But give me a number. Counting with those who lasted one week too.”

“Hmm, around 20 maybe?”

“Did you have with all of them?”

“What? No.” Jongin shook his head. “I only lost my ity when I was 18.”

“I lost it when I was 16.”

“Seriously?” Jongin wasn’t sure about how he felt about that. “With who?”

“He was my classmate and boyfriend back then. I thought he was manly back then. Now he’s just ugly.”

“What a nice thing to say.”

“I’m the nicest person you know so what do you expect?”

They smiled at each other intimately before turning their attention back to the lake and nature surrounding them. It was cold that day and a gust of wind them strongly, making Kyungsoo sneeze and shiver because he was freezing. Wrapping his arm around  Kyungsoo, Jongin pulled him closer.

“I told you to change your clothes.” Jongin remembered. “With this weather you can’t just walk around with a T-shirt and a leather jacket. It’s too cold for that.”

“You’re wearing that too.”

“I’m not you. You’re freezing, Kyungsoo.”

“I’m not. I’m totally fine.” Another sneeze.

“We should go back. You’re going to get sick like this.”

“Stop mothering me!”

Yes, Jongin was mothering him but he was right about Kyungsoo getting sick. The next day, he couldn’t even breathe or stand up and he missed his first day of classes in two years.

Classes had already ended when Kyungsoo heard the door bell ring from his warm spot on the bed. His head was hurting and his nose was so blocked that things were only ten times worse. He had a fever and he could barely keep his eyes open. He was sweating and shivering at the same time. Getting sick .

Junmyeon probably opened the door and he heard a familiar voice outside, making the black haired man curse at his luck because he didn’t want Jongin to see him like this. There was a knock on the door, followed by a request to come in. Kyungsoo reluctantly said yes. And then there was Jongin stepping into his bedroom, looking deadly gorgeous while he was like that…sick and disgusting.

“Why did you come?” Kyungsoo grumpily asked, glaring the best he could at Jongin but failing miserably because he had to ing sneeze.

“I was worried about you.” Jongin softly spoke, heading to the bed and carefully sitting down on the edge, not wanting to disturb the older man. Kyungsoo’s eyes were puffy and his nose was incredibly red but somehow he still looked cute in Jongin’s eyes, all wrapped up in fluffy blankets. “I told you were going to get sick.”

“Shut up. If you’re here to-“

“I know, I’m sorry. I don’t want to tire you out.” Jongin raised his hands, surrendering. Kyungsoo sighed, but didn’t push the subject any further, feeling too tired to even tell Jongin to go away.

Moving closer, Jongin carefully leaned down and rested his hand on Kyungsoo’s forehead.

“What are you doing, Jongin?” Kyungsoo whispered, closing his eyes.

“I’m just checking if you have a fever.” Jongin couldn’t quite figure out if Kyungsoo’s forehead was too hot or not because his hand was too cold so he leaned a little more and rested his lips against Kyungsoo’s temple. If Kyungsoo’s body was hot before, now he was simply burning because it was Jongin’s lips he was talking about. When Jongin raised his head, he had a worried expression on his face. “You’re burning up.”

“I know.”

“Have you taken something for it already?”

“Not really…” Kyungsoo coughed.

“Then we should get you something.” Jongin stood up. “Do you have any medicine at home or should I go and buy it?”

“I think I might…have something…in the kitchen.”

“Then I’ll go get it and be right back.”

Kyungsoo watched him go and maybe it was because Kyungsoo was too tired because when he closed his eyes and opened them again, Jongin was already back, a glass of water in his hand and a box of pills in the other.

“Why haven’t you taken it yet?”

“I didn’t want to get up.”

“Then you could have asked Junmyeon for help.” Jongin sat down again and he helped Kyungsoo sitting up a little as well.

“He arrived not that long ago. I didn’t even remember asking for anything.” Kyungsoo reached his hand out to grab the box but Jongin did it for him, taking the pill to his lips before carefully helping him drink some water. Kyungsoo swallowed it easily and soon he was lying down again, Jongin’s hand warmly fixing the sheets around him.

“I’ll stay here to take care of you.” Jongin whispered as he ran his fingers through the older man’s hair.

“You don’t have to.”

“But I want to.” Jongin insisted. “Actually, you should have called me earlier.”

“…I didn’t want to bother you.”

“You never bother me, Kyungsoo.” Jongin smiled warmly, leaning down to peck Kyungsoo’s forehead again. “I’ll take care of you till you get better.”

“Jongin…”

“Sush.” Jongin leaned down and lay down next to Kyungsoo’s small body, wrapping an arm around his waist. “Try to rest right now.”

It was hard to sleep with a blocked nose and a headache but with the constant beating of Jongin’s heart against his skin, Kyungsoo was able to close his eyes and fall asleep.

Kyungsoo took almost a whole week to get better but Jongin patiently stayed with him through the whole time even if Kyungsoo was constantly telling him to go to the university with Junmyeon because he had missed too many classes already. Jongin always pretended not hear and just kept by Kyungsoo’s side. He slept, ate, got cleaned and practically lived in Kyungsoo’s house.

Jongin took care of Kyungsoo better than anyone else. He cooked him food and gently forced him to eat even if the older was always saying he wasn’t hungry, feeding him even if Kyungsoo said it was unnecessary; he gave him his medicine and checked his temperature; he cleaned Kyungsoo’s house whenever he thought it was necessary and he would have washed Kyungsoo too if he had given him permission to; helped him falling asleep, taking him in his arms and warming him up. Kyungsoo was thankful for all he was doing but he couldn’t help but feel bad for having Jongin do all that.

“Why are you doing this?” Kyungsoo asked him, over and over again.

“Because I love you.” And Jongin would smile, pecking Kyungsoo’s forehead. “I don’t need any other reason.”

This always shut Kyungsoo mouth and made his temperature rise immediately, his heart beating so fast it almost hurt. How was he supposed to resist when Jongin was so…Jongin?

Jongdae often tried to visit him. Yes, tried, because as soon as he knocked the door, Jongin would tell him to go away and not bother Kyungsoo. He wasn’t jealous, really, but he didn’t want Kyungsoo to feel bad or even more tired. So he didn’t let anyone in…not even Junmyeon who lived in the next room. Kyungsoo could have protested but he didn’t. Jongin’s attitude only made him smile and fall deeper and deeper. Not even once had Kyungsoo thought getting sick could be so good.

Despite that, Kyungsoo tried to resist his feeling and his racing heart as much as he could because he couldn’t bring himself to tell Jongin that he…was in love with him. Plus, confessing when he couldn’t even stay for 5 minutes without cleaning his nose was not the most romantic thing he could do.

But there was this one night, in which Kyungsoo’s fever was so high that Jongin had to stay up all night. In his half consciousness, Kyungsoo could see Jongin’s worried, feel the cold and wet towels he applied on his forehead every once in a while just to make him feel better, hear the soothing words of worry and encouraging.

“Come on, Kyungsoo.” Jongin whispered after softly waking up Kyungsoo to make him take his medicine. “You need to get better soon, okay? But don’t worry. I’ll be here till you recover. I won’t leave your side. Never. You know I love you.”

Hearing these words and unable to say them back because he wasn’t even fully awake and because he was a coward, Kyungsoo cried his heart out because he was simply overwhelmed by everything the younger was doing. Kyungsoo thought he didn’t deserve Jongin at all and he could only cry messily, trying not to suffocate between tears and is inability to breathe properly. He loved Jongin but he had to see the younger go through all this to realize it. He should be ashamed.

Jongin had no idea what was happening or why he was crying because all Kyungsoo did was crying without saying anything. Without knowing what to do, Jongin simply held the older man tightly and told him everything would be alright till he fell asleep quietly, trails of tears covering his cheeks. This was the first time Jongin saw Kyungsoo crying but he decided that he didn’t want to see it every again.

On the following morning, things were a little awkward from Kyungsoo’s point of view but he was feeling a lot better and the awkwardness soon dissipated because Jongin made no questions and treated him as if he was a porcelain doll, pampering him even more than before.

It was a little later, maybe a day after, that Kyungsoo finally whispered those three little words. He was feeling much better than before and he could finally breathe a little through his nose as he watched Jongin changing his clothes. The younger had no problem in changing in front of Kyungsoo, saying that he had already seen everything, so the elder never really complained about the sight, sitting against the headboard.

Kyungsoo didn’t appreciate Jongin’s body in a lustful way at that moment, finding it simply beautiful, something that should be treasured and kept away, hidden from the world’s eyes. Kyungsoo felt somehow possessive towards Jongin all of a sudden. Then Jongin got a call while he still didn’t have a shirt on (if that’s necessary to say). It seemed to be one of his classmates. Another guy.

“Ah, sorry, I think I won’t be able to make it tomorrow either, Moonkyu.” Jongin said over the phone, buckling his belt as he held the phone between his shoulder and his ear. “I’m taking care of a friend.”

A friend.

“Because I want to do it. No, you can’t come over. He doesn’t even know you.”

There’s no ing way someone else was getting inside his house.

“Jongin…” Kyungsoo called and the younger immediately walked to the bed.

“No, stay away. I’ll call you when I come back.” Jongin sat down next to the Kyungsoo and he found a little strange when Kyungsoo wrapped his arms around his waist, pulling close, but he didn’t think much about it. “Moonkyu, look, I have to go.” Jongin chuckled.

He’s ing laughing at him.

“He’s not paying me to do this, I already told you before.”

I want his attention.

“Jongin.” Kyungsoo called again, holding Jongin’s chin and making him look at him.

“Moonkyu, I’m hanging-“

It might sound something too theatrical but Jongin’s world literally stopped when he felt Kyungsoo’s lips pressed against his own. It lasted for only a few moments but it was enough to leave his mouth hanging and his eyes wide open when Kyungsoo pulled away.

“Turn off the phone.” Kyungsoo demanded and Jongin didn’t even think twice before turning it off and putting it on the bed.

“Kyungsoo, what is-“

“I love you.” Seems like both of them enjoy saying those words when no one is expecting them. “And I want to be your boyfriend, yes.”

Jongin blinked and blinked and blinked, over and over again.

“Are you serious? Why?”

“Because I wouldn’t forgive myself if I let you go just because I’m weak.” Kyungsoo caressed Jongin’s cheek with his thumb. “You already settled too deep in my heart. I just wasn’t able to see it.”

“Does this mean…” Jongin grinned widely, his chest exploding with happiness because this was seriously too good be true. “…I can kiss you? And do…all the other stuff?”

“Yes.” Jongin leaned forward immediately, making Kyungsoo’s cheeks darken slightly. “But not now.”

“Why not?”

“I’m still not fully recovered and I haven’t brushed my teeth in a while.”

“Do you think I care about that?” Jongin leaned even closer and Kyungsoo had to push his chest away a little.

“I’m serious.”

“Just one more, like the one you’ve just gave me.”

Kyungsoo felt his nose tickling all of a sudden.

“No, Jongin, not now.”

Tickles.

“I love you, Kyungsoo.” Jongin held Kyungsoo by his waist and pulled him closer. “Let me show you that to you.”

Tickles. Tickles.

“Jongin, please, I’m warning you. Go away!”

“Just one peck. It won’t hurt.” Jongin was too happy to think about anything else so he moved his face closer and closer…and he was too close when Kyungsoo finally sneezed, right into his face. Nothing…specific came out, if you know what I mean, but he still sneezed on Jongin’s face.

“I told you to go away, didn’t I?” Kyungsoo shouted, pushing the younger, who kept his eyes closed, away before covering his face with his hands. “Why didn’t you listen?”

“How could I know you were going to sneeze?” Jongin stood up and while keeping his eyes closed he walked to Kyungsoo’s bathroom to wash his face.

Kyungsoo just wanted to die so he hid himself under the covers till Jongin came back, embarrassment covering his whole skin.

“Jongin,” Jongin called, amused to find Kyungsoo in that state. “Uncover yourself.” He tried to pull those blankets away but he failed once, twice till he finally managed to do it on his third try. Kyungsoo was just too cute. “Why are you doing this?”

“Will you still love me after this?”

“What?”

“Don’t you think I’m disgusting?”

“Of course not!” Jongin chuckled and he joined Kyungsoo in bed, giving him a tight hug and a kiss on the top of his head. “I would love you even if you were covered in mud! Which…is not such a bad idea.”

Kyungsoo called Jongin stupid several times and hit him weakly. But Jongin was persistent and he stole a kiss from Kyungsoo’s lips to seal their new relationship before he gave Kyungsoo a very small break. After all, Kyungsoo had still not completely recovered. But when that happens…Jongin would make a good use of his beautiful boyfriend.

Kyungsoo and Jongin’s relationship became official pretty soon. Jongdae and Junmyeon made fun of them for as long as they could… before they were kicked by Kyungsoo’s strong foot. That…Moonkyu…was also someone Kyungsoo made sure to tell first, because he didn’t like that kid since the very first time he heard his name. Moonkyu, on the other hand, seemed to like Kyungsoo’s attitude a lot…much to Jongin’s frustration.

They were a pretty disgusting couple in the beginning, like many called them, because they were always together, always kissing, always hugging, always whispering ‘I love you’ and ‘I miss you’ because from their point of view they had wasted too much time already. But they were absolutely happy and in love, there were no doubts about that.

The first time they had to part from each other for more than a few hours was at Christmas because they both had to spend it with their families, like they usually did before meeting each other. They spent a long time saying goodbye to each other and they only pulled away when they really had to, which meant when Jongin’s parents called their son, telling him it was time to go home. They didn’t cry because that would be stupid when their relationship had just started…but that’s what they wanted to do.

“You two are sick. Your relationship is totally not healthy.” Junmyeon made the mistake of commenting, getting kicked right after because a Kyungsoo without Jongin was a very grumpy Kyungsoo.

When they reunited two days after the 25th, there’s no need to say the fluffy balls of happiness they were.

They were pretty happy emotionally but physically, they were probably even better. Saying that they were ually compatible does not describe it completely. Their desire for each other had no end and they were both adventurous and intense so if Kyungsoo wanted to be ed on Junmyeon’s bed, Jongin would do it; if Jongin wanted to do Kyungsoo for hours straight, the older man would willingly open his legs and ask for more. They stopped using any or barrier between their bodies pretty soon.

The next months of their relationship were pretty good and happy for the couple. They spent the new year together, they celebrated their birthdays for the first time with each other... In conclusion, life was good, even if every once in a while they would fight about stupid things like why-didn't-you-call-me-when-you- promised-to-do-it or you-haven't-kissed-me-enough-lately. I'm not sure if this can even be called a fight but that's the closest that they ever got to one.

Jongin was a possessive man and because of that he would always keep an arm around Kyungsoo to make sure people knew they were together or he would constantly leave hickeys on Kyungsoo's neck so that even when he was not around, people knew Kyungsoo belonged to someone. This possessiveness was not something new to Kyungsoo so he didn't really mind that side of the younger since he was like that himself, even if he did not show it that often.

This possessive nature of Jongin led, of course, to jealousy. Thankfully, Jongin did not see Kyungsoo very often with other persons except for Junmyeon and Jongdae who were harmless, so it was kept inside till around the last week of March, when Kyungsoo had to work on a group project for one of his class with four other people and Junmyeon wasn't any of them. Jongin kind of thought the idea would be okay at first since it was work but once he found Kyungsoo surrounded by four other guys at the library, and he didn't like it one bit.

He was going to study with Jongdae at the library because he knew Kyungsoo would be working with the rest of the group but he didn't expect to find him there. Five laptops, including Kyungsoo's white one, were all placed over the table while their owners were talking and laughing when Jongin saw them, looking all pretty focused on Kyungsoo's smile. Well, . If Jongin was a werewolf, he would have ripped him all into pieces but he kept his cool, walking towards Kyungsoo with a smile when his boyfriend saw him.

"Jongin!" Kyungsoo exclaimed happily, raising his head to catch Jongin's lips when he leaned down to kiss him. He was expecting a simple peck on the lips but Jongin grabbed his neck and kissed him fully in front of everyone else. Jongdae rolled his eyes at the scene and searched for an empty table before sitting down and waiting. Kyungsoo's lips were redder when Jongin pulled up and the younger was pretty proud of being the cause of the unfocused look in Kyungsoo's eyes.

"Wow, who's that, Kyungsoo?" One of the guys asked, smirked.

"Ah," Kyungsoo blushed and looked down. "This is Jongin, my boyfriend. Jongin, this is Tao, Hyunsik, Ryeowook and Dongha."

"Nice to meet you." Jongin said politely despite the hidden glare he sent to each of them.

"Nice to meet you too, Jongin." Hyunsik replied. "You're one lucky guy, you know?"

"Yeah, I do know."

Wanting to get some privacy to talk to his boyfriend, Kyungsoo stood up and took a few steps away from the group till they were hidden by a huge bookshelf.

"What are you doing here, Jongin?" Kyungsoo asked, nuzzling into Jongin's neck while the younger held his waist tightly.

"I’m studying with Jongdae. We have an exam in two weeks."

"Oh, are you having trouble with anything?"

"No, at least not for now." Jongin his lips, looking attentively at Kyungsoo's face. "How long are you going to stay here?"

"I don't know. We should try to get at least half of our work done by today so we might need a few hours. We can leave together if we end at the same time."

"Of course."

There hasn't been a day in which they don't crash at Kyungsoo’s house.

"But does this mean you'll have to meet up with them again?"

"Yeah," Kyungsoo tilted his head, "Is there a problem?"

"No, nothing. I was just asking." Jongin kissed Kyungsoo's lips again, taking his time to save every taste, to feel every part of Kyungsoo's mouth before pulling away gently. "I love you, Kyungsoo."

"I love you too, Jongin."

Jongin and Jongdae didn't study much that day. Jongin kept looking at Kyungsoo and his group wondering what they were talking about, mentally cursing the guy who sat next to Kyungsoo.

Jongin didn't like the smiles or the many words they traded but he thought he could survive that till the guy named Hyunsik fixed Kyungsoo's hair with his hand without permission. That was something only Jongin was allowed to do.

As a result, Jongin was incredibly rough on Kyungsoo that night, slamming his hips against Kyungsoo's till the petite make was crying because of the  pleasure.

Then things got worse because suddenly it seemed like everyone had developed an interest on Kyungsoo. There was Moonkyu who kept teasing Kyungsoo about everything; Hyunsik who was always too touchy whenever he was with Kyungsoo; this girl from Jongin's class who seemed to not know Kyungsoo was his boyfriend and asked him to introduce her to that 'friend with beautiful eyes; and then there was this guy from a club they went to at night, the worst of all of them, who approached Kyungsoo while he was away to get them some drinks, and when Jongin came back, he was trying to pull Kyungsoo into his arms despite the obvious rejection of the shorter. Jongin quickly threw the drinks on the floor and asked the guy to back off before punching the hell of him when he called Kyungsoo a . Did people not understand that Kyungsoo was his boyfriend?! Apparently not and Jongin was getting desperate.

That night after the bar issue, Jongin wasn't rough but extremely gently, kissing Kyungsoo till his lips were numb, touching him slowly, making love to him in such a caring way that Kyungsoo felt like crying, telling him how much he loved him over and over again and asking, almost begging Kyungsoo to tell him the same. Something was off and this was not the first time Kyungsoo noticed it.

"Jongin," Kyungsoo called softly, raising his head from Jongin's chest to look at the younger, who was awfully quiet after , deep in his thoughts. "What's wrong?" Jongin looked up at his boyfriend, admiring his beauty once again and wondering if anyone would ever be able to steal him away from him. Over his dead body.

"I want to ask you something."

"Go ahead." Kyungsoo tilted his head, visibly interested on what the younger had to say.

"Will you marry me?"

Kyungsoo blinked, heart speeding up its beating right away.

"What?"

"Will you marry me?" Jongin repeated, staring straight into Kyungsoo's eyes. The older man was quiet for a moment, blood ringing in his ears because he had no idea of what he should answer. The idea gave him a warm feeling but...

"Jongin, don’t you think it’s still a little early to think about that?”

“You don’t want to marry me?”

“That’s not what I meant.” Kyungsoo sighed, running his hands through the other’s hair. “We’re still too young, don’t you think?”

“Age doesn’t matter.”

“But it’s too sudden, Jongin. Why do you suddenly want to marry me?”

“Because I’m tired of people looking at you as if you were single, as if they knew they could take you away even if we’re lovers.” Jongin’s hand rested on Kyungsoo’s waist, pulling him closer. “I want to make you mine.”

“I already am yours, Jongin.”

“No, Kyungsoo, you don’t understand.” Jongin shook his head. “I want to build a life with you, live with you, be with you till the end of our days. I know it might sound silly since we’ve only been together for a few months but that’s how I feel. I want you to marry me.”

“Jongin, baby,” Kyungsoo leaned down, pecking Jongin’s lips sweetly and making Jongin’s heart tickle happily at the use of the word ‘baby’. Kyungsoo had only used that word a hand full of times. “We can do all that even if we’re not married.”

“It’s not the same. You can run away from me at any time like this. If we’re married…” Jongin smirked playfully, loving the idea. “We’ll have to go through divorce and all that stuff, probably deciding who the kids we’ll be staying with…”

“We’re going to have kids?!” Kyungsoo widened his eyes, surprised.

“Well, we can’t have kids like a normal couple but we can adopt. I like the idea of having a baby Soo.” Jongin was grinning widely now and Kyungsoo could only blush and whine at the idea, embarrassed he hid his face on Jongin’s shoulder. A baby Soo.

“Don’t you think you’re going a little too fast, Jongin?”

“Maybe. But that’s what I want to do. Because I love you.”

“Why are you like this?” Kyungsoo whined and he buried his face harder on Jongin’s shoulder, his whole face burning up. What was he supposed to say in a situation like this? He didn’t want to say ‘no’ because it was not like he didn’t feel a little bit emotional and happy about the whole idea but, on the other hand, Kyungsoo wasn’t sure if he was ready to get married.

Sighing, Kyungsoo raised his head and pecked Jongin’s lips a few times, making sure the younger felt his emotions at the moment, love, care, happiness.

“Jongin…” Kyungsoo started, as softly as possible.

“You’re going to say ‘no’, aren’t you?” Jongin pouted, making the older roll his eyes at him.

“I haven’t even said anything yet. Just hear me out.” Kyungsoo took a deep breath. “I accept marrying you.” He closed Jongin’s lips with his fingers. “But not right now. We have to wait at least till we graduate, get stable jobs and maybe a house too because we can’t spend our life in this apartment or at our parents house.” Jongin’s eyes twinkled and he nodded immediately. “Is that okay with you?”

“Can we…at least get engaged?” Jongin breathed in deeply.

“Of course.”

“Then yes!” Jongin inverted their position and in a gust of happiness he kissed every part of Kyungsoo’s body he could reach, thanking him and telling him how much he loved him while Kyungsoo just giggled, kissing the younger back. “Kyungsoo, thank you, I love you, I love you, I love you.”

“Yeah, I know.” Kyungsoo chuckled. “But you don’t need to cover me with your spit.”

“I’m just happy, okay? Give a minute to kiss my future wife.”

“Why am I the wife?”

“Wife, husband, I don’t really care.” Jongin grinned widely. “I can put on a dress if you want me to.” They laughed together, imagining the younger dressed with a pink dress, something that Kyungsoo would definitely like to this. Then, all of a sudden, Jongin stopped and moved away from Kyungsoo. “That’s right. I almost forgot this.”

“What?” Kyungsoo saw Jongin opening the last drawer of his nightstand and take something out of it, a small black velvet box.

“I bought it and hid it on your drawer but you never found it.” Jongin cleared his throat and turned around to hand Kyungsoo the box, his ears slightly red. “If we’re getting…engaged…we need something to symbolize that, right?”

Kyungsoo’s eyes grew as big as a full moon and he opened the box, shaking, hoping that it wasn’t what he was thinking…but it was. It really was. A silver ring with a few crystals (or that’s what Kyungsoo thought it was at least), very simple, but really beautiful.

“Let me put it on you.” Jongin shyly said, taking the box and holding the ring before gently holding Kyungsoo’s hand and slide the ring through the ring finger of his left hand. Kyungsoo was quiet the whole time, for a long time, just looking at his hand fixedly, leaving Jongin nervous. “You didn’t like it? I can buy you another one if you want…”

Kyungsoo would be the dumbest person on earth if he didn’t like it and to show Jongin just how much that meant to him, he pushed him down on the bed and made love to him, slowly and gently, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. Jongin had turned him into a .

When they were done, satisfied and dumbly happy, Jongin held Kyungsoo’s hand and kissed it softly before admiring how beautiful the ring looked on the older man’s hand.

“I should have given you this a long time ago.”

“When did you buy it?”

“Almost a month ago.” Kyungsoo choked on his own spit, looking up at the younger. “But I didn’t have the courage to give it to you so I hid it on your drawer, hoping you would find it on your own…but you didn’t.”

“You’re such an idiot…”

“I know. But I was afraid to do it. I only did it now because I was jealous of all the attention you’ve been getting lately. Everyone seemed to want you lately so I needed to move fast.” Jongin sighed, feeling a bit more relieved now that Kyungsoo had that ring on him. Maybe people could still ignore it but a ring always pushes away many others. “And I’m really glad I finally did it.”

“Like I said, you’re an idiot.” Kyungsoo muttered the next words, pouting slightly. “I should have gotten this earlier…”

Kyungsoo’s words worked magically and Jongin really thought he was really lucky to have someone like Kyungsoo; someone that he would definitely love forever.
