This chapter will be for consonants

Consonants!

 

•  ㄱ [g/k] - Has the sound Got, Give, etc. You can always think of Gangnam Style

•  ㄴ [n] - Has a basic N sound like in No or Now.

•  ㅅ [s] - This consonant can have a soft sound like in the word Sound or it can have a sharper sound like in SHe. It all depends on what follows.

•  ㅁ [m] - Has a basic m sound like Move, or Make

•  ㅂ [b/p] - This sound can be tricky because it's a b sound but with only a slight sound. If you've ever head a celebrity say babo, thatd be a good example.

•  ㅈ [j] - This has a j sound like in Just.

•  ㄷ [d] - This has a d sound like in stuDy or Do. Both words have a d/t sound.

•  ㅍ [p] - This has a p sound similar to in Power or Put.

•  ㅊ [ch] - This has a ch sound like in CHeese or CHoi.

•  ㅌ [t] - This has a sound like in haor Told

•  ㅋ [k] - Has a stronger sound than , it has the sound of Karma.

•  ㅎ [h] - Sounds like Health or Have.

•  ㄹ [r/l] - The sound for this is mixed between r and l. Sometimes the sound can depend on where the consonant is. For example in the word 일, the sound is a sound. Where in 사랑 it has a mixed, and sound.

•  ㅇ [ng] - When placed in front of a vowel, it has no sound but when placed at the end, it has a ng sound. Like when you say AnnyeoNGhasehyo

Double Consonants (쌍자음)

 

•   [ss] - This consonant can also depend on placement but most of the time it will sound like Subway. 

•   [gg] - This has a stronger sound than but less than . Confusing right? It's something you'll have to learn. The sound is similar to how words like sCHool sound.

•   [dd] - I think that this sounds similar to sTole. It's a strong sound that isn't pronounced as a when spoken syllable by syllable

•   [jj] - This has a stronger sound than . Its almost like a strong similar to word like Judge.

•   [pp] - This has a more exasperated sound than . It's almost like when you say words such as sPoon. The way the sounds after s.

 

Ye! You've complated learning the 한글 symbols and their sounds..
