While all the other people and press waited outside the infamous SM Entertainment building, inside 6 people were having an intense conference, speaking everything they thought and had kept inside of them for the past year…

Dong Bang Shin Ki, or now known as JYJ and Yunho and Changmin of SM Entertainment sat opposite eachother, silently looking at the man at the very end of the polished oak table, each one of them nervously anticipating what the outcome of the meeting would be.

The man sat back in his custom made leather chair, his upper body shrouded in darkness. He sorted through some papers, took his mug of coffee and had a great long drink out of it. He could feel the growing tension between the two groups and the worry he felt grew bigger and bigger by each second that ticked by.

He leaned forward and twisted his chair to the side, yet keeping his body facing the five boys. Light spilt on his face, showing no emotion. Yet deep inside, he was like any other human being.

Looking at the face of the eldest boy in the room, Kim Jae Joong, he felt a rush of deep pride and compassion. He was the ‘mother’ of Dong Bang Shin Ki, the quietest in public yet one of the most warm hearted people he knew casually. Now this boy’s face showed hurt, sadness and longing. His gaze then moved across to the young man beside him.

Park Yoochun. The composer of Dong Bang Shin Ki, one of the manliest and macho but also the most emotional. Many times he had seen Yoochun run into his office, concerned over the way their music was rating and selling, and many a time he had comforted him overnight.  He heard a whimper from the small figure beside him and looked at the boy by the name of Kim Junsu. The brightest, happiest and most optimistic of all the Dong Bang Shin Ki boys, he was still just a boy to him. Yet now, he was rarely seen happy in public except when performing.

Across the table sat Jung Yunho and Shim Changmin, the only two of the five still with SM. Changmin, the tallest and funniest was looking down at his hands, twiddling his thumbs nervously. Jung Yunho however, kept a straight face and refused to make any eye contact with any of them. He was the leader, and Jae Joong’s best friend, and now they hadn’t had any contact with eachother in over 9 months.

Who was he? He was Lee Soo Man. Owner and founder of SM Entertainment, he ran everything. From Shinhwa to Super Junior, he hand-picked them and raised them to be the people they were today. But according to everyone, Dong Bang Shin Ki was no more, and he was deeply saddened by this. All the rumours about him being a slave worker was false, and yet he hadn’t the energy to make a statement because he knew that more and more bad things would rise.

Yes, he’d admit that he did overwork the boys, letting them sleep very little at times and sometimes not at all, but now he knew better. He lost not only his best and most popular group, it felt like he had lost family, and he knew better than anyone what that felt like.

“I’ve decided to change my ways and let Dong Bang Shin Ki have a comeback.” He stated out of the blue. He watched as the five boys’ heads snapped up and gaped at him.

“W-what?” asked Yunho, his hands falling limp at his sides.

“You heard me right. I’m sorry for the way I worked you, and I can see the results of that. I’ve spoken to Avex Co. and they’ve agreed to rejoin Dong Bang Shin Ki.”

The five boys looked at eachother awkwardly and Junsu smiled just a bit. Soo Man put a hand up. “However.” He said and the boys’ faces fell. “This comeback will stage in September next year. I understand that things are not what they were between the five of you, and so I’m sending you away to reconcile with eachother.

“Where to hyung? What about our families? Our jobs?” whispered Yunho, and he took a quick look at Jae Joong, who glared at him back.

“I’ve already alerted your families, and they are alright with it. Your jobs are stopped,” all of them gasped. But Lee Soo Man held up a hand. “When you return I’ve organised some more jobs to be put on hold for you.” They sighed and relaxed again.

“Where are we going?” asked Changmin. He was the most affected by the whole situation, Soo Man could see that. He knew that Changmin felt deserted by his hyungs and that no one was there anymore, but he was wrong, and Soo Man was determined to make him realise that.

Soo Man took out a remote and pressed the green button. A large T.V came up and a photo of a huge, rich-looking, white mansion was displayed on it. “My sister-in-law Rina lives there with her 15 year old daughter.  They are very rich; she owns Kaido International and is the co-producer of Vera Wang fashion line. Since she is away on business a lot, her daughter is usually home alone with the maids and butlers but she can’t stay at her friend’s houses all the time.”

The boys looked at eachother, mystified. “But where are we going Soo Man?” asked Jae Joong and Soo Man cringed mentally. He didn’t call him hyung anymore, but he shook off the thought.

“You’ll be going to Melbourne Australia. I called Rina and she said that it’s fine. You’ll be leaving tomorrow.”  Soo Man said.

“Aren’t we going to pack our furniture and stuff?” Junsu questioned and Soo Man laughed. “If you’re living in their house, do you need furniture?” he said and Junsu sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck and the rest managed to crack a few smiles.

“I’ll leave you to it. I have to release a statement to the press. See you at the airport tomorrow.” Soo Man saluted them and walked out.

As Soo Man walked out the door, he felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders. No more dirty comments on gossip websites and no more bad reviews for his other group shows. He pushed open the huge marble doors and a swarm of reporters came rushing at him.

“Is it true Dong Bang Shin Ki is going to split forever?” one reporter for Vivi magazine asked.

“Is it true that Avex is giving up JYJ and leave them unemployed?” a Seoul Times reporter asked.

“Please settle down.” Soo Man said, it was more of a command really, than a plea, but still all the reporters complied. He cleared his throat and began. “During recent times, Dong Bang Shin Ki has been through a lot, and the consequences are huge. I realise my mistakes and I’m working on fixing them up. In the mean time, Avex and SM Entertainment have decided to put Dong Bang Shin Ki back together. But their comeback will not happen until late 2011. I am sending them to Australia to have an extended vacation to refresh their souls for what they will be preparing for next year.”

All was quiet in the room, and some TVXQ fans were weeping. Soo Man continued. “My sister-in-law Kim Rina has a private estate in Melbourne and I will be sending the boys over there to live with her and her daughter. Their flight will leave tomorrow. Be warned that no press will be allowed to attend the flight, as it is a private time for the boys and their families.  To wrap up this conference, let me say,” he added with a smile, “Dong Bang Shin Ki is officially back together!”

The whole crowd cheered and the fans screamed with joy and happiness. Lee Soo Man walked out of the room and the corner of his lip lifted. He was never that close with his sister-in-law, not after his brother’s death, he was still in contact and was polite with her and he simply adored his niece. She was a mixture of her father and mother, giving her a stunning natural beauty with a heart of gold.

Soo Man pressed the elevator button and waited patiently for the doors to open. He would’ve let his niece penetrate the entertainment world, for she was an exceptional dancer, musician and had an incredible voice, but his sister-in-law didn’t want that and he respected her decision. After they had moved to Australia 7 years ago, he was frequently sent DVD’s of her showing off her talents in her school shows and at home.

He made his decision for the best of not only Dong Bang Shin Ki, not only their fan base Cassiopeia, but for his niece, the daughter of his much loved and missed little brother, and her name was…
