I stared at the windowpane as droplets of water poured. I hear the pitter-patter as they gently hit the roof-top. And suddenly, thoughts of you invade my mind. You've always loved the rain. And I once asked you why you find it so fascinating but you answered me with a smile. A smile that never failed to steal my breath. And I forgot what I even asked. All I could focus on was your smile.

You reached out and cupped my face in your hands as you stared right into my eyes. And my heart was suddenly filled with warmth despite the coldness seeping in.

“I love the rain so much because it just gives me peace.”

Then you smiled that dazzling smile and I was lost. You turned your gaze back to the window, watching the drops of rain as it splatter against the glass.

But my gaze was focused on you.

Then you sighed and leaned back against me. I wrapped my arms around you as I placed a kiss atop your head.

“I love you.” You whispered but my heart heard it loud and clear.

We were on our favorite part in the park, a picnic mat laid on the grassy ground. I was leaning back on my arms, my gazed focused on you. Always on you. You were playing with some random kid and all I could think about was the future, our future together, and if God permits, our children.

You suddenly laughed out loud, breaking through my thoughts. I looked back and I can’t help the smile forming my lips. Your laugh is my favorite sound. I could listening to it the whole day.

Then the wind suddenly blew past you, your hair flowing as the yellow dress you had on danced against it. And I was mesmerized. I was captivated by the beauty before me.

And I have never seen anything more exquisite than this before.
