"It's a new umbrella, sweetheart. I bought it knowing that lavender was your favorite color."
"But Daddy, I don't need an umbrella. I'm not worried about the rain."
"The rain can get you sick if you stand in it for too long. The umbrella will protect you as long as open it and stay underneath, you will be sheltered."
"Can you protect me from the rain?"
"Of course honey, Daddy will always be there for you, just like an umbrella. I will protect you always."
"Promise?'
"I promise, my little princess."
Little did they know, rain is so inexorably powerful, not even the strongest 'umbrella' could fight its wrath.
Foreword
Hello everyone!
The inspiration for this story came from the fact that it has been raining here for the past 2 weeks. I kind of had a lightbulb moment and jotted stuff down in the middle of math class oops. I wanted to write something with a chatacter that has a "history" with rain... I kind of thought it would be an interesting problem/flaw for a character so violia, this story was born.
I pretty much already planned this whole story out on paper so it won't take long for me to write updates now that I have the basic plot down. I have no idea how long this will be, maybe around 10 chapters(?). What I do know is that it's going to get a bit intense as the story goes on, I have just a few plot twists planned [instert evil laughter here]. But, there won't be like 213816318641414 because I hate those kinds of stories. Don't worry, for those of you hopeless romantics (myself included), it will get a bit fluffy and lovey dovey as well.
