When Min Ho Met Shin Hye

"Really?  You would treat a girl like that?  That's so cold.  I feel so sorry for Rachel."  She was helping him prepare for his scenes.  Shin Hye was defending Rachel.

"She should just let go.  Why do girls cling like that?  If a guy doesn't want you then you should move on."  Min Ho didn't care for clingy girls.

"But she's only 17, she's in love with him.  It's not that easy to just move on.  You're not in control of your emotions at that age.  Oh, I feel so bad for her."  Shin Hye could empathize.

"You sound like you have had the experience."  Min Ho was curious.  Was it around the time that he had met her?  She was different back then.  Cynical.  Hurt.

"Of course, everybody has a first love around that age.  Didn't you?"  She still felt it's sting.

"So what happened?"  He saw the flash of pain in her expressive eyes.  His protective instinct rose.

"He didn't notice that I liked him, or maybe he did, but he ignored it to spare my feelings."   She shrugged her shoulders. "He was older.  He treated me like a friend.  And I wanted to continue to be his friend and hang around him so I held it in."

She was heartbroken.  But she hid all the pain within herself.  She didn't tell anyone.  Looking back, she probably should have told someone, a girlfriend.  It might have been less painful if she had talked about it.  But back then, she didn't have many girlfriends her age.  She had drifted apart from her childhood friends. They weren't in the industry and she rarely saw them.  She was also having difficulties because she was in an acting slump.  She was having troubles at home with her Omma.  She was rebelling.  Typical teenager drama.

"It died a natural death from neglect."  They just drifted apart over time. She didn't dwell on that time.

"He's an idiot."  Min Ho stated. He didn't like the guy whoever he was.  He remembered the hurt little girl from 4 years ago and how he wanted to cheer her up.

"Haha.  You're so good for my ego."  Shin Hye smiled at him.  He really was a nice person. He knew what to say to make her feel better.

They had developed a close friendship over these two weeks in the US.  He was easy to talk to, always had been.  He liked to joke around and laugh.  He was such a kid sometimes.  It was sort of endearing.

They shared a trailer for resting during breaks and for make up.  They were practically living with each other, since the work days were long. They spent their free time together because they were in an unfamiliar city where they didn't know many people.  Since he was older, he would watch out for her, making sure she was comfortable.  It was a nice feeling.

"What about you?  What were you like at 17?"  Her turn to be curious.

"Me?  I w
