Let Her Go (JeTi - on going)

This is a long chapter consisting of 5,431 words. :) I hope you guys will like it. Pardon the errors since I didn't really edit it. ><

CHAPTER ONE

“You should seriously go out and have some fun,” Sooyoung said as she plumped herself on the couch in Jessica’s living room. “Get over that b!tchface already!” she whined like she always did. Jessica couldn’t help but roll her eyes as she always heard the same speech from her. “That b!tchface needs to suffer in hell or something. I hate her!”

“You should seriously relax. I’m over it,” Jessica raised her hand in front of her, showing her palm at her best friend. “I got toyed with, sure, but what can we do? She’s a wh0re.”

“More like you are. I’ve told you since the beginning that the wh0re is a good-for-nothing b!tchface that you shouldn’t have paid attention to.” She then grabbed the pillow on the couch and threw it at Jessica’s direction, but it didn’t hit the girl. Jessica bent down a little, reaching for the pillow that was on the floor; her blonde hair dances away from her ear, so she tucked it back behind it.

“Can you not make a mess?” Jessica said as she threw it back at her. “And honestly, I’m over her. I just don’t want to go out.”

“So what are you going to do today?”

“I actually am going to the library,” she said as she walked over her desk, gathering her things for school. “I need to study.”

“Why can’t you just study here?” Sooyoung looked around.

Jessica shrugged. “I can’t concentrate here. Too many distractions.”

“Whatever. You’re so boring.” Sooyoung rolled her eyes. “I’m going to go shopping. Go be boring and study!” Without saying another word, she walked out of Jessica’s room.

*******

Not being able to concentrate on her studies, she kept stealing glances at the girl who sat at the next table across from her. From time to time, their eyes would catch a glimpse at each other, but they would soon avert or pretend to go back to studying. It wasn’t like Jessica was trying to flirt with the girl, but there was something about her that seemed familiar. She bit her lower lip, trying her best to recall from where she met the girl; she looked down to have better concentration, not having any distractions, but it did so little; where did she meet such a girl? She looked up once again, studying the girl’s features. Her porcelain skin that seemed to not have seen sun, her long black hair that waved, those big, slanted eyes that were alluring, but was covered by her thick black specs. She knew this girl from somewhere, but she just couldn’t remember where exactly. An image of her fourth grade class president back in Korea kept popping in her head. Was she that girl? Honestly, she didn’t know since that was the last time she saw the girl since that girl moved. What was her name anyway? Was it MiYoung?  Or was it MinYoung? She forgot the name of her former classmate, but she could never forget that the girl always got her in trouble by telling on her to their teachers. At remembering, she couldn’t help but chuckle at her mischievous ways when she was younger.

“Hey, Tiffany!” someone called loudly, causing some of the students to shush her. That student approached the beautiful girl that piqued Jessica’s interest. Well, maybe she wasn’t the girl Jessica used to know. Her gaze not leaving the girl, it was only bound that their gazes would meet once again, and when it did, the girl named Tiffany flashed a really lovely smile, as though greeting her or apologizing for her friend. Whichever reason it was, Jessica just couldn’t help but smile back.

Even if the girl wasn’t her former classmate, it was fine since it had been years. Actually, even if the girl was MinYoung, or MiYoung, or whatever her name was, it had been years so there was just no way they would remember her. However, this didn’t stop Jessica for wanting to be friends with the girl. There was something good about her aura that kept Jessica to wanting more than just hidden glances. But before she could muster up the courage to befriend the girl, the latter was already collecting her things as her friend waited for her.

There went her chance to getting to know her. Although, that might be a good thing since that would just let Jessica study even more.A few minutes had passed, she was looking out the window. Despite being autumn, needing for leaves to fall and change colors, it was still sunny outside and she hated it. Sometimes, she couldn’t really comprehend California weather. Was it meant to be Fall or Summer? She shook her head a little, trying to clear her thoughts. She needed to study for her upcoming midterms so there was no room for her to idle around, but she just couldn’t concentrate. Maybe she should’ve just gone with Sooyoung. Her mind was nowhere near learning anyway, and some of her friends sided with her b!tchface of an ex, so she didn’t want to call them. Remembering that wh0re now made her just gather her things, not feeling like doing anything at all. Sure, she told her friends that she was fine and that she was no longer affected, but there were times that she still think of the girl. However she tried, she wasn’t just able to completely forget it just yet. She just broke up with the girl just more than two months ago, and they were together for two years. It was only natural for it to be hard, right?

After shoving everything in her bag, she then turned around only to see that girl from earlier standing behind her with two boxes of strawberry milk in her hands; one was close to with a straw, and the other was closer to Jessica, as though being offered. She nudged her head once, as though offering the drink to the blonde. Cocking her head to the side, Jessica then asked, “For me?” her voice hinted confusion. Why would she offer a drink to Jessica anyway? They were strangers to each other.

“You’re the only one here, no?” Tiffany said playfully as she flashed a bright smile, flashing her perfect set of white teeth; her eyes in crescent shape.

Hesitatingly, the blonde still took it from the girl. “Thanks?” she said as she lifted it, showing it to Tiffany.

“My name’s Tiffany by the way.”

“Jessica,” she introduced as she offered a handshake, which Tiffany took.

“I noticed you were looking at me a lot,” Tiffany said as she pointed at the table across from where they were. “So I figured I should introduce myself.”

Feeling embarrassed, Jessica looked away and said, “You just reminded me of someone. I thought I know you, but it turns out you’re not her.”

“We can still be friends even if I’m not person, right? Who knows, I might just be a better person.” She winked at Jessica, making the latter laugh a little. She couldn’t believe that she thought this person was her former classmate, that stuck up girl who always got her in trouble. There was just no way that they were the same person. “So, Jessica, can you join me for coffee? My treat.”

Jessica shook her head with a soft smile on her face. “There’s no way I’d let you buy me coffee when you just got me this.” She showed Tiffany the box of milk. “So, Tiffany, coffee. My treat.” It was not a question, but it didn’t come off rude either.

“I’d love to,” Tiffany said with a huge smile on her face.

******

“You don’t mind that some of my friends will be here, right?” Jessica asked as she handed Tiffany a drink. They both just ended their midterms, and Jessica’s friends planned on just hanging out in the girl’s home since she lived in a spacious unit by herself. Some of her friends lived in their own houses; however, their parents were there so it wasn’t all that comfortable anyway. Sooyoung also lived in the same high-rise building, but she lived in a smaller unit just a couple of floors below her. Plus, Sooyoung hated having people over since she was a bit of a clean-freak. “They always hang out here after exams, so I can’t tell them no.”

Tiffany flashed a smile. “I really don’t mind. I like meeting people.” Well, what she said was the truth because it was due to that fact that they became friends a week ago. “It’s still better than being home alone, right?”

“Well, that reminds me, you did say you live on your own,” Jessica paused as she sat herself on the couch and then continued, “Do you stay in an apartment or something?”

“No, we have a house in Beverly, but my parents are in South Korea so I live by myself.”

“As you can tell, mine, too. I live alone.” She pointed at some used dishes that were in the sink. “I should start doing my chores.”

“Hire a maid?” Tiffany suggested as she looked around the unit. Being  international students, they both knew they were both from money, and with the things Jessica owned, it wasn’t hard to believe.

“Then what’s the point of living away from home when I’m just going to do the same thing?” she asked as she adjusted herself to a more comfortable position. “I want to be independent, that’s why I was adamant about studying abroad.” It had always been something she longed for: temporary freedom from the eyes of high society. Not only was her father a senator, but they were surrounded by business people from her mother’s side.

“Well, whatever floats your boat,” Tiffany said before taking a sip of her drink.

“Maybe you should try not relying on a maid?” Jessica suggested, but was replied with a vehement head shake. “You’ll never know how much money you really have until it’s yours, you know? So it’s always good to learn how to live without being dependent.”

“Honestly, even if our business goes bankrupt, my siblings and I have a secured trust fund that even our parents can’t touch. That’s the reason why they got that so our lives will be secured somehow. I understand what you’re saying, but I just really can’t do chores on a regular basis.”

Well, she really couldn’t do anything about Tiffany’s way of thinking since she was raised like that; however, even Jessica was raised to think the same. There had always been a fine line from those of high class and those of lower class around them. Every single friend she made in Korea were from well-off families, so she was used to it.  “You’re such a spoiled kid.” She rolled her eyes.

Tiffany giggle. “It’s not my fault my parents love me.”

Not wanting to talk about the same thing, she then changed the subject. “What’s the name of your siblings anyway?” She kept hearing about them, but she never bothered asking how many there was or what their names were. Since they had been friends for awhile now, why not get to know each other more.

“I actually have a lot. I’m the eldest and then there’s YeJin, who is my twin sister.”

“There’s another you? God, why did you do this to the world?” Jessica laughed.  But why did YeJin sound so familiar to her? It was as though she knew of a Hwang YeJin back in her elementary years, but maybe she was just confusing this with something else again.

“Hey! Don’t be mean. She’s really nice and really smart! She’s absolutely just like me.” It was obviously a joke.

“Well, maybe God had to make a better version of you, huh?” Jessica laughed once again. She just couldn’t believe she never heard of this twin before. Then again, they had been really busy with their studies to even bother with small talks.

“Shut up. Anyway, then there’s SeulGi, who’s a year younger than us. Then there’s Irene, who is a year after that, and then SeoHyun, who’s three years younger than us, and then there’s Lami, who is the youngest, we’re seven years apart.”

“Damn!” Not only where they a lot, they were all girls, too. She wondered how they were able to handle each other being girls and just a couple of years apart. “That’s a lot.”

“Well, how about you? How many siblings do you have?”

“I’m an only child.” Jessica lied, laughing as she was looking at her family portrait that was on her entertainment center.

“BS.”

“The eldest is YunHo oppa, but we call him Joey. Then there’s me, who’s the awkward, middle child. Then there’s the baby, SooJung, we call her Krystal.” Jessica looked at her family’s portrait. Honestly speaking, it never seemed like she was the middle child since her elder brother, who was three years older than she was, was always away for school. Her parents gave them the liberty to go to any prestigious school, and so her older brother, who was always hungry for knowledge, went from country to country to explore different cultures. Now, he was in Switzerland for his master’s. Whilst Jessica attended USC for her bachelors, and there was Krystal, who was in her alma mater, a British international school, in Korea.

“So you guys both have English and Korean names, huh?”

Jessica nodded. “Yeah. We attended International schools in Korea that’s why we really don’t have a strong accent when speaking.”

“Oh? Me, too! I went to school in Korea until I was in fourth grade, and then we moved to Los Angeles since my Dad had to managed the American region from just Asia and the Pacific region.” She then clenched her brows, trying to remember the name of her school. Was she her former classmate? It was just too much of a coincidence. Now that she mentioned that she was indeed there since fourth grade with a sibling named YeJin, Jessica was a curious if she truly was the former class president that always troubled her. “It’s called School of Sa---”

“Saint Anthony?” Jessica asked, uncertain if they were really old buddies from before, but if she really was, it wasn’t like it was special, it would be amazing to meet once again at another school and another country at that.

Tiffany was taken aback. “How’d you know?”

“MiYoung-ah!” Jessica pounced herself to Tiffany, who sat on the other side of the couch. Tiffany was looking confused so Jessica then said, “It’s me, SooYeon! We went to school together, remember?!”

“You’re that troublemaker?! I knew you looked familiar!” Tiffany hugged her as though they hadn’t spent the whole day together and seeing each other for the first time. “My God! This must be fate!”

“Must be,” Jessica said, equally ecstatic. “And that’s why I was looking at you the other day.”

“Oh? You weren’t just trying to hit on me?” Tiffany raised a brow at her with a wide smile on her face.

Jessica rolled her eyes. “Like I’m ready to hit on someone. I got screwed over by my ex, remember? Plus, you were the one who talked to me first, so maybe you wanted me to hit on you.”

Tiffany shrugged. “Maybe I did,” she said as she winked.

Not paying much attention to Tiffany’s playfulness, Jessica looked at her friend as though seeing her for the first time, examining her face that matured to someone beautiful. Even as a child, Jessica couldn’t deny that Tiffany was adorable - she like how Tiffany was when yelling at her or almost crying because she wouldn’t listen. There was a crooked smile on Jessica’s face, still couldn’t fathom how they met once again from the other side of the world. “God. I can’t believe it’s you. I mean, it’s really you.”

“Had you just told me you guys own CJ Group and Companies, I would’ve known it’s you from the beginning.”

Snorting a laugh, Jessica closed her eyes as she shook her head. “Yeah, because how I introduce myself is what my family own and how much money is in my trust.”

“True. That will be awkward.” Tiffany looked at her as though she wanted to say more, but there was just no words that could explain both what they were feeling. It was just too unbelievable; it was too much of a coincidence that their brains refused process it. “God. I can’t believe you’re that brat.”

Jessica simply giggled as she felt the same. “I can’t believe you’re that tattletale. Actually, I can believe you’re that tattletale!” For the new times they spent together, she could see that the MiYoung she knew back then grew up to be this responsible, naive person that her new friend was.

“And I can honestly believe you’re that troublemaker back then. My dear Sooyeon grew up to be the freedom-seeking Jessica.” Tiffany nodded in approval as she looked at Jessica, picturing the young classmate that she had to growing up to the person in front of her. “But I never thought you’d grow up liking girls.”

Jessica chuckled, slightly taken aback by what the girl said. But even at a young age, she knew she liked girls more than boys. She used to pretend to like boys when asked, but deep down, she always were smitten with pretty girls, whom she couldn’t even confess to. “You’re an idiot,” she said and was still laughing. “Look at the pot calling the kettle black. I never knew you’d be the type to hit on someone at a library. That’s even worse than me dating girls.”

“Hey! I wasn’t hitting on you.” Tiffany defended as she threw a pillow at Jessica. “You were looking at me a lot so I thought I’d give you a hand.”

“Give me a hand on what? Hitting on you? I really wasn’t. I just thought you looked like MiYoung, which turned out to be really you.” Jessica threw the pillow back at Tiffany as she heard the doorbell; she then got up, walked towards the front door. “Really, Tiffany, I wasn’t into you.”

“That’s rude! Are you saying I’m not pretty?” she said loud enough for Jessica to hear, and then some muffled words that Jessica didn’t understand.

Jessica didn’t answer as she opened the door, welcoming SooYoung, Yuri, YooNa, and Sunny. “So what are we going to do?”  She hugged each one as they all made themselves at home by just walking in, putting their coats in the closet and their shoes on the shoe rack.

“We brought movies and some snacks,” YooNa said as she lifted the bag she carried.

Jessica just nodded once as she started to head to the living room before them since they were still settling their things. She then looked at Tiffany and then answered, “No, I think you’re really pretty. But I’m just not into that yet. I’m not ready.”

“Wait, what’s this?” SooYoung chimed in as she walked towards them. “Hi, I’m this idiot’s best friend by the way.” She reached out for a handshake with one hand whilst the other hand was on Jessica’s shoulder. “And I’m sorry this girl’s emotionally damaged to find you attractive. But don’t worry, I think you’re really beautiful.”

Tiffany’s brows twitched in confusion, but she still reached out to shake SooYoung’s hand as she introduced herself, and awkwardly thanking the girl in the process for praising her. When Jessica’s other friends were in the living room, they all introduced themselves to Tiffany. She found out that SooYoung was Jessica’s friend since middle school in Seoul; there was YooNa, who was in the same department as Jessica so they had a lot of classes together; YuRi was with YooNa so they met through her; and there was Sunny who was friends with SooYoung. YooNa and SooYoung were both international students and YuRi and Sunny both grew up in Beverly Hills, and it turned out that they lived pretty close to Tiffany, whilst SooYoung, YooNa, and Jessica all lived in West Hollywood area.

“It’s a good thing that Jessica made a new friend though,” YuRi said as she was sitting on the floor, eating some Doritos.

“You make it seem like it’s hard for that girl to make friends.” Sunny said.

YooNa then looked back at Jessica, who was seated next to Tiffany. “Jessica’s pretty friendly if she wants to be. Plus, it’s really a good thing since some of her friends sided with that b!tchface.”

“It’s your ex, right?” Tiffany asked as she looked Jessica in the eyes. “Did she cheat on you? I don’t mean to impose, but I just want to justify calling her that if I ever do so.”

“It’s worse than cheating,” SooYoung answered for Jessica as she looked at their way. “Honestly, if she just cheated on Jessica, we won’t hate on her like this.”

“SooY---”

“Jessica, you know, she makes it seem like she’s the victim that’s why I like explaining to people how much of a b!tchface she really is.” Sooyoung then looked at Tiffany after cutting Jessica off. “She didn’t cheat. It’s more like she played with Jessica on her tiny palm both mentally and emotionally. Playing with Jessica’s emotions, making it seem like she was in love with Jessica, and then shut herself in. And then lures Jessica back in, and then blow up on the idiot. And then ignores her, and then be all loving. She’s like a bipolar b!tchface!”

“And she’s a b!tchface because of that?” Tiffany asked.

“Imagine being in a relationship for years and you don’t know where you stand, and the girl’s always vague and shuts you out and just gets mad all the time, but you still try to be very understanding and you just take everything in. And when you want out of the relationship, begs you not to, using the same card she’s always used on you. If it was just cheating, at least Jessica could’ve moved on easily, you know? But no. It wasn’t like that. She made it seem like she was the victim to some of our friends, that’s why they’re mad at Jessica. But they don’t realize that the wh0re is a cunning little b!tchface. I hate her for playing with Jessica’s emotions!”

“Well, that does sound horrible.”

“She’s wishy-washy about the relationship even though Jessica gave everything, bought her everything, gave her time. Anything you can think of. It was a waste of love, honestly.” Sooyoung rolled her eyes; Jessica could imagine what was going through SooYoung’s head since she had always been so vocal about her loathe for Taeyeon. “She pulled and pushed until she broke Jessica. That’s why I’m so pissed. And this idiot took years until she realized I was right about that lying wh0re.”

Jessica looked at Tiffany with a smile on her face, as though apologizing. She didn’t know why she did it, but it seemed appropriate. Maybe it was because she didn’t want to seem weak or maybe she didn’t want her stupidity to reflect or maybe a sign of not needing pity. But who knew, really? All Jessica knew was it felt right to smile at her that moment. “Well, if she played with you like that, then I don’t have any reason to like her.”

“Good. You’re better off not knowing her.” YuRi then joined in.

Sunny sighed. “Honestly, Taeyeon’s an awkward person who can’t express herself well and maybe she didn’t mea---”

“What? She didn’t mean to hurt Jessica?” YooNa asked as she rolled her eyes. “Please. If she really didn’t, then she should have the decency to know the effects of whatever she did.”

“Yeah! Okay, Tiffany, it’s like this,” YuRi then moved to face Tiffany, away from the television since it was no longer their source of entertainment. “That b!tchface will whine, saying she had a bad day and blah blah blah, right?” She waited for a reaction from Tiffany, and so the latter nodded. “What would you do if she said that to you?”

“I’ll ask her why and if I can do anything to help?”

“Exactly!” YooNa then said as she pointed at Tiffany. “But she answers, ‘It’s none of your business’ like you two aren’t in a relationship. I mean, why bother saying something in the beginning?! Then if it’s none of Jessica’s business, why ing bother, right!?”

“What the hell?! Isn’t that annoying?!” SooYoung then commented.

Jessica simply sighed since she knew that once her friend started on talking about Taeyeon, they wouldn’t stop until they were satisfied with their insults. At this point, she didn’t care what they say about the girl since it was true about her stupidity and Taeyeon’s actions that she was blinded to see back then.

“How about if the b!tchface tells you she has a problem and goes all emo on you,” YooNa  said and then continued, rolling her eyes in the process, “And like a normal person, you’ll ask why or say you’re there for her, right? You’ll even do anything to help. But then she yells at you saying you just don’t understand.” YooNa’s face was distorted in disgust. “Like, really? How the hell will Jessica understand when she won’t even explain anything?”

“Oh, here’s my favorite!” YuRi looked at Jessica and then back at Tiffany. “Jessica, obviously likes to know people and stuff, right? It’s only natural for people, right? So when you want to know their preferences, you ask about good restaurants they go to and stuff, right?” She waited for a gesture from Tiffany, so the girl nodded, urging her to continue. “You know what she said to Jessica? Google it! Google ing it!” The last sentence was said in much abhorrence accompanied by a grunting noise.

“I swear I hate her,”  YooNa said as she looked at Sunny. “I know she’s your friend and all and we’re not asking you to hate her with us, but do acknowledge that that person is a sh!tty person to Jessica.”

“Yeah!” YuRi said.

“Guys, let’s stop. I’m over the chick,” Jessica said as it seemed to be more heated now. She didn’t want to start drama amongst her friends, who were the few who chose to stay with her instead of going with Taeyeon like the rest. “Honestly, I don’t care about her anymore, but I still can’t go dating. I’m still scared to giving my all.” She then looked at Tiffany. “I’m sorry about this.”

Tiffany shook her head. “No. I’m glad I understand you better.”

“Tiffany, if you know anyone who can cure our Jessica here, please do introduce her to this hopeless romantic, yeah?” YuRi said as she looked at Tiffany.

“Or it can be you.” YooNa shrugged. “Who knows?”

Tiffany giggled. “I’ll think about it.”

“What’s there to think about? It’s Jessica! Her father’s the senator in Korea and her mother’s loaded, too! Actually, too loaded fits better.” SooYoung said as she slapped the back of Jessica’s shoulder, causing the latter to wince in pain as she looked at her best friend.

Rubbing her shoulder as she tried to ease the pain, she then said, “And Tiffany’s family owns the Hwang Conglomerate. The shipping first born,” in a matter-of-fact tone.

“What!?” YooNa and SooYoung bellowed in unison, looking at the now awkwardly smiling Tiffany. They both know full well of that company since they grew up in the same circle as Jessica, mingling with the rich and powerful. Unlike Sunny and Yuri who both grew up in the US, they knew how rich the girl was, even beyond Jessica’s family’s riches so that was saying a lot.

“Hi?”

“So you’re the shipping heiress, huh?” YooNa couldn’t believe that they went to the same school since the girl had always been studying abroad so nobody knew of her family. “My mom does business with you guys. We use you guys for our gasoline shipment.”

“YooNa’s family owns a big gasoline company,” SooYoung explained.

“I see,” Tiffany said. “But honestly, I really have no clue about the names we work with.”

“I’m sure you’ve heard of their company. They’re all over Korea,” Jessica said, and then she gestured as she made an exclamation point in the air. “The company that has that sign. It’s like our Chevron or Shell, you know?”

“Oh! Okay, yeah, I know that.” Tiffany said as she remembered seeing a lot of those.

“SooYoung’s family owns three hospitals in Seoul,” YooNa then said, not liking that she was the only one they were talking about. “YuRi’s parents are both surgeons here. Sunny’s parents are famous producers.”

“Hey, guys, I don’t know why we’re telling Tiffany this,” Jessica scratched the back of her head, feeling embarrassed that they had to say those things.

“Well, at least Tiffany knows she can be comfortable with us. You know how hard we tried to fit in with people here, who can’t understand us.” SooYoung justified, which was true. All of them tried to seem average just so they could not overwhelm the new people that surrounded them. From Louis Vuitton or Cartier, they learned to downgrade to a Michael Kors or Coach. From being driven around by a chauffeur in a limousine, they had to get sedans for themselves, learning the pain of looking for a parking spot in Los Angeles. “We’re not bragging, but we also want you to know that your customized Louis Vuitton bag and your Bally shoes ain’t going anywhere, babe.” SooYoung winked at the girl.

“Yeah, and also you now earned good future business partners,” YooNa said. “If I handle our business, I’ll be sure to still use your company for our imports. Although, that will really be a decade from now. So, let’s just be good friends for now, yeah?”

“You don’t have to worry about us trying to use you or anything like that,” YuRi said. “It’s not like it’ll hurt knowing we’re not here for your money, right?”

Now that Jessica thought about it, YooNa, Yuri, and Sunny had history of having friends who were nice to them because they were monied. Sometimes, they knew it was better to be friends with those who shared the same problems and situations because they could truly understand what the other was going through and not just mere analysis. And with Jessica, she had a couple of people up to her and she knew it, but SooYoung was always there to shoo them away when it was too much. And frankly, Jessica didn’t mind being used since she honestly thought people existed to use each other. Maybe that was the reason why Taeyeon had it easy to push her around since the blonde was always so giving and forgiving.

“I had my share of those people. I understand you guys, don’t worry.” Tiffany smiled at her new set of friends. “I had those encounters before.”

“Don’t worry about Tiffany, guys. She just told me a couple of hours ago that I should’ve introduced myself as the daughter of CJ Group and Companies so she would’ve known me right away.”  She giggled. “This girl’s just plain odd.”

“Hey! Don’t be mean!” Tiffany pouted, which caused Jessica to laugh.

YooNa then said, “You like odd.”

“Jessica said she doesn’t like me like that,” Tiffany explained herself, wearing a playful frown.

“What?! And she was attracted to that b!tchface?!” SooYoung threw a glare at her best friend. “She’s seriously blind.”

Jessica smiled as she snorted a laugh as she covered her face with her hand. Really, SooYoung had always been the type of person to say whatever she liked. “TaeYeon actually doesn’t look bad.”

“Yeah, but her personality’s pretty rotten,” YuRi added.

YooNa then sighed. “Jessica, I’ll take you to my eye doctor tomorrow, okay? I think you need your eyes checked if you don’t find Tiffany attractive.”

“I think she’s attractive, don’t get me wrong. She’s a really beautiful woma--”

“Woah! We’re just teasing you, no need to be all serious!” SooYoung laughed as she threw a chip at Jessica.

Sunny then said, “And this is why Jessica’s always scarred when she introduces her new friends to us. You guys harass them too much.”

“Hey! We’re really just kidding around,” YuRi said to Sunny and then looked at Tiffany. “But welcome to the group.”

With a bright smile on her face, Tiffany then said, “Thank you.”
