Prompt: New Star
It was another slow night at the observatory. After Minwoo had finished sweeping the corridor he joined Hyungsik at the monitoring station.
“Any news from the space station?”
“No, not tonight.”
Hyungsik lay down on the carpet and Minwoo followed him. They looked up at the ceiling of the observatory that was decorated by stars.
“Isn’t it funny to think that light from the stars takes hundreds of years to get here?” Hyungsik mused. “It’s like looking back in time.”
Minwoo asked, “If you discovered a new star, who would you name it after?”
Hyungsik folded both his hands over his stomach and smiled contentedly. “Well, I’d name it after Kevin of course,” he said as if that should be obvious.
“Fair enough,” Minwoo said, hoping that his disappointment would not be detected. “Besides, who cares anyway? There’s already billions of stars in the sky…”
