Note: Sequel to the Intro
TV backstage waiting room are always charged with a sort of nervous boredom. Kwanghee clanged on his ukulele to lighten the mood. He played a few chords of a song and sung along, his playing punctuated by brief moments of silence whenever he would lose his place in the song or forget the lyrics.
At one silence, Kwanghee stopped to muse: “Is it just me, or does it suddenly feel awkward in here?”
He turned to his side.
“Ah… Kevin’s here.”
Kevin had taken a seat beside Kwanghee and he was frowning deeply, as he sometimes did when he was feeling nervous, but this time it seemed as though he had something particular on his mind.
“I had a dream last night,” he said, “that we were factory workers.”
Kwanghee laughed. “We? Kevin, were you dreaming about me again?”
Kevin replied quickly and clumsily, “I mean us, no, wait, I mean everyone. We were all there, wearing hats and goggles and stuff.”
“Sounds like a bad dream.” Kwanghee put his ukulele down. “Come on, let’s go. It’s almost time for us to go on stage.”
