She was mad. She couldn’t feel anything but anger.

How dare that woman appear during her most important day? Why did she have to ruin everything?

She was never there during the times Jooyoung needed her the most. Since she was a little girl, until the day that woman left, she never felt her love, so it was just so funny to have her suddenly show up today and act like she loves her very much and that she really missed him.

“Hypocrite.” She let out with a bitter chuckle. “Such a show off.”

Jooyoung looked at herself in the mirror. Her beautiful face was about to get messed up by a single teardrop that was about to fall. No. She won’t cry. She won’t let this woman ruin her night.

At that same moment, she heard the door opened. From the mirror, she saw Onew’s mom coming. Her face was filled with worries and concern. “A-auntie-“ She stood up properly and turned to face her.

“I had to rush here to see if you’re fine.” She told her as she held both Jooyoung’s arms. “Are you okay, sweetheart?”

“I am.” She smiled and nodded slowly.

The older woman then took off a white handkerchief and gently wiped the tiny sparkles on the side of her eyes. “These tears will smudge your makeup.” She said ever so dearly with a slight smile.

This beautiful woman over here was very much different from the other woman outside. Mrs. Lee was so genuine. Her heart was so pure.

“I’m sorry – I think I made a scene.” Jooyoung apologized which had Mrs. Lee shaking her head.

“No, don’t worry. Jinki handled it well. He knew he can’t follow you here so I did.” After making sure her face was back to the real beauty she was a while ago, the old woman pressed Jooyoung’s cheeks with her hands. “I don’t know if I’ll be happy that your mom has arrived, or I’ll be mad that she ruined this special day.”

Jooyoung couldn’t help but smile. She thought Onew’s mom would encourage her to deal with her mother and smile as if nothing ever happened before.

“I was wishing for her to come actually, but now that she’s here…. I thought I rather wished not.” She let out a soft and playful chuckle, which in a way, lighted Jooyoung’s feelings. She felt better having such a cheerful lady in front of her – who was just the female counterpart of his husband.

“I’d still have to respect her, though, because she’s still my mother.”

“I know you’ll do that.” She said with a smile.

“I’m just feeling sorry for myself that I never really had the chance to experience how it was to have a mother.” She frowned a bit, containing her tears, until she looked at the woman in front of her. “Jinki must be very lucky to have you.”

“It’s not too late, sweetheart. I can be your mom.”

Jooyoung’s mouth fell open. She wanted to say she was happy to hear that but that would only be an understatement. She was feeling more than that.

“How I longed to have a daughter ever since.” She told Jooyoung. “I was so afraid Jinki would marry late because of his career, so I kept praying for the right woman to arrive as early as she can, so I could have my daughter. You are perfect for me, Jooyoung. You long for a mom just as how I long for a daughter. Don’t you think we’re meant to be?”

Jooyoung let out a playful laugh. She couldn’t believe Jinki’s mom would say that. She nodded enthusiastically, and leaned closer to hug her tightly. “This is such a blessing.”

“But from now on, you need to call me mom, okay?” She said while rubbing Jooyoung’s back. “I would have asked you to just live with us at home, but I bet Jinki would be so jealous of that so…”

“Yes, I want to live there.” Jooyoung thought Jinki’s mom just had a great idea. “The CEO wants us to live separately. I don’t want to live in that house alone, mom. It would kill me.”

“Aigoo, then I guess we really have to leave Jinki alone then.” Both of them laughed together and literally forgot what just happened earlier.

“Are you feeling better?” Her new mom asked and Jooyoung nodded with a huge smile on her face.

“Right. She’s my mom. I can’t just forget that fact. I don’t know why she’s here and I’m not sure about her plans. But whatever her reasons may be, I’m just sure of one thing… I have my real mother beside me, and she’ll defend me to everyone who’s gonna hurt me.”

Jinki’s mother playfully winked at her, and once again they hugged each other.

After few more minutes, they went out together, hand in hand, both laughing at some conversation only the two of them would know about.

“There, I’m returning your wife to you.” Jinki’s mother told him with a cute playful smile on her face. He frowned and found it weird that his mother was giving Jooyoung’s hand back to his.

“What took you so long in the comfort room?” Jinki questioned the two girls.

“Uhmm…” Jooyoung looked at her mom, then back to Jinki. “Girl talk?”

“Girl talk in the comfort room at this time?” He said in disbelief. “Wow. You two are a great match.”

“I know.” His mother winked and chuckled once more.

Meanwhile, Jooyoung noticed something. The other woman – her biological mother – was gone. But before she could ask Jinki, he already knew what she was thinking.

“She left.”

“She did? Already?” Jooyoung couldn’t help but be surprised. Who wouldn’t be surprised? She was gone for so many years, then she suddenly appeared, and after less than five minutes of her presence, she was gone again.

“She said she was just here to congratulate us, and that she was planning to visit us some time when she has the time.” He only shrugged his shoulders. Jinki also had this fascinated look on his face. Jooyoung’s biological mom was really something.

“That’s actually a relief.” She told him honestly and he only nodded.

The party was still on going. The guests were dancing on the floor while others were happily chatting at their table. There were few more guests who came to them to personally wish them a happy life together.

“I’m sorry you’d have to spend your time in that huge lonely house from now on.” Jinki said when they had the chance have their alone time again. “But if I can sneak out to go there, I will. I’m worried about you.”

She shook her head playfully and held his hand. “I’m not going to live there. The deal is to just live separately, right? Then it’s okay if I don’t occupy the house while we can’t be together.”

“Where are you going to live, then?” Jinki asked.

“At mom and dad’s.” She said confidently and even pointed at the other couple’s direction using her lips. The mother saw that and cutely waved towards them.

“What?” Jinki was dumbfounded, constantly changing gazes from his parents to her, to his parents again, and back to her. “You’re going to live with them?”

“Yes.” She answered happily. “Mom told me to just live with them since I have no one to be with at that big house. So… I said yes.”

“Wow. This is so unfair.” He complained. “I got married to you, but you’ll live with my parents? Are they kicking me out as their son?” He looked back at his parents. As if they knew what Jooyung and Jinki were talking about, they smiled teasingly.

“Thank you for giving me another father, and a truly adorable and loving mother.” She giggled as she winked at his mom, then to Jinki’s surprise, Jooyoung planted a playful kiss on his lips. “I really really really love you for making me this happy!” She squealed.

“I love you more.” He said and initiated a soft kiss on her cheek this time. “But don’t be too overjoyed having my parents around, okay? You should miss me from time to time, too.” He says like a cute jealous husband which had Jooyoung smiling so brightly at him again.
