  The car went tumbling down the slope. Everything was in a mess. Hye Rin’s sight was blurred and everything was in a mess. And it was even seconds before the car crashed into a huge tree, the car jerked and everything went black.

 

  It felt as though it had only been a few seconds before Hye Rin got awaken by the sharp sound of the police and ambulance sirens. Hye Rin forcefully opened her eyes and see blurred sights of two paramedics rushing towards her.

  “One of them is conscious!”

  It was as if the words of the paramedics were stronger than the pain at her back, Hye Rin remembered there were two other people in the car as her. That same car, that went off the wet road and down the slope. That same car her parents were in.

  Mum. Dad. They were unconscious.

  As Hye Rin was placed on the gurney, she could only helplessly look at the car where her parents are still in. Pitter patter. The rain didn’t seem to affect Hye Rin. The pain in her heart was far worse than anything now.
