“Minho, why aren’t you coming to our game nights anymore? I thought you loved to hang out with your real friends?”

“Well, Minho, I’ve been worried about you lately, but at least you are no longer hanging about with that horrible boy Kibum.”

The boy walked upstairs, shoulders stiff and eyes dull. Once he reached the room he quickly locked the door behind him and leant against it as he sank down to the floor. A sigh escaped his lips as his features began to bubble, slowly taking on a new shape. His eyes became smaller and more slanted. His lips became thinner and more shaped. His legs became shorter, and his torso less defined. Thousands of small changes taking place until Kim Kibum sat where Choi Minho had been. Staring in front of him without an emotion left on his features, his face completely numb. He had long forgotten how to show his emotions.

“Why did you have to leave, Minho? Why did you make me take your place? I can’t do this anymore. I’m not you, I can never live up to the things you have achieved. Why are you forcing me to do this? Along with the pain of missing you, I also have to endure this constant disappointment. Please come back to me Minho. I’m just a simple shape-shifter, nothing less, nothing more. I need you here to stay sane. I can look like someone else, but I can’t replace anyone. I don’t think I can hang on much longer.”
