The Dawn of Life

Description

The invisible puppeteer danced above Yixing, pulling mechanically on his limbs. One by one the strings cut into Yixing's flesh, drawing thin lines of blood.

It had been a few centuries. Each day he struggled under the burdens of the force, unable to move, unable to think, unable to feel without stabbing pain cutting into his body. It was a fight he could not win. Stuck in the center of his cave for all eternity, Yixing had long forgotten what hope looked like. Here there was only darkness, desolation, and more darkness.

But when he appeared, the strings around Yixing started to snap one by one, falling to the ground.

Kris was hope.

Foreword

"It is as I thought," Kris whispered as he walked carefully forward, his footsteps extremely light on the ground, "you will not harm me if I do not draw my weapons."

Don't come closer, Yixing pleaded inside, I don't want to hurt you.

Kris could not hear the pained cries of Yixing's struggling heart and continued to walk forward. He approached the other and then carefully placed a hand under Yixing's chin, forcing the man to tilt his head upwards and stare into his eyes.

Kris' irises were a light chestnut shade, edging on soft gold. They reminded Yixing of light. It had been a long time since he last saw light. He didn't quite remember what light looked like, but he was sure the glow in Kris' eyes was just as bright, perhaps brighter.

"Why did you cry that day when you attacked me?" Kris asked, keeping his eyes on Yixing's, trying to read the thoughts of the other.

Yixing did not answer. He didn't know and even if he did, the force would not allow him to speak. Even his current silence brought about unyielding pain. The force was cutting at him, forcing thoughts into his head that were not his, obligating him to attack the intruder.

Yixing clenched his fists, his claws digging into his own palms and drawing blood. He didn't want to kill. He didn't want to hurt the other. Please, someone save me.

Written For: A Fool's Paradise
Prompts:

02. "My silence is just another word for my pain."
06. "Why do you always have to show up when I'm about to give up?"
16. "You don't forget the face of the person who was your last hope."

Author's Note: This is my first project for 2014. I wrote it in two days and I really like how it turned out. I think it is one of the better things I've written, of course, that's just based on personal preferences. Anyways, I'll post this up later, hope you subscribe, read, comment, and upvote if you enjoyed it! (Sorry for the fail description, foreword and title, it really when you put all your effort into writing the actual thing and have no more inspiration left for the other stuff ^^;;)
