Mir hummed quietly to himself as he placed the roast beef in the crock pot. He set the heat to low, and quickly got back to his next task.

Soon, potatoes, carrots, celery, and homemade broth joined the large portion of meat. Mir smiled as he looked down at his handy work. It would  be done by the time Joon got home from work. The young man looked around the kitchen and frowned when he realized the mess he made. He sighed and collected all of the dishes, putting them in the sink and he immediately started to wash them.

He was in the middle of scrubbing off the cutting board when he heard tiny feet clambering down the stairs and towards the spacious kitchen. He turned and smiled at the sight of a little boy, no older than 3, who was rubbing his eyes lazily.

"Jinae, did you have a nice nap?" Mir asked gently. He walked over to Jinae and crouched down on his haunches, giving the toddler a kiss on the forehead.

Jinae, as the young boy was called, blinked sleepily and smiled. He wrapped his arms around Mir's neck. "Neh, Umma..." he mumbled.

Mir smiled and nuzzled his son's neck. "Aigooo~! My sleepy little baby..."

Jinae pouted and leaned back to poke his umma on the cheek. "I'm not a baby, Umma~! I'm a strong man, like Appa!"

Mir chuckled. "Neh, neh... Well my big, strong, man, would you like to help Umma?"

The toddler's eyes glinted and he grinned. "Neh~!"

The older smiled and lifted Jinae onto his hip, returning to the sink. "Okay, Jinae... What I want you to do is hand all of the dishes to Umma, and I'll wash and dry them, okay? But don't touch the sharp ones- Umma will get those himself."

Jinae tilted his head. "Owwie?" he asked.

Mir nodded and rubbed his little boy's cheek. "Yes. Very owwie..."

They started doing the dishes together, and Mir more than once allowed his son to place soap bubbles on his face. Jinae told him he looked funny. If it made his little boy happy, then Mir would let him do it as many times as he wanted. They continued for awhile, and soon enough all of the dishes were clean and put away. Mir sighed happily as he took off his apron, and he grabbed Jinae off the counter. He walked through the living room and up the stairs to Jinae's bedroom. He set the toddler on the bed and turned to go through the dresser.

"Umma...?" Jinae asked tentively.

"Jinae, why don't we go see Appa?" Mir suggested, returning to his son and dressing him.

Jinae's smile was bright. "Can we, Umma? Can we really go see Appa?"

Mir nodded and pulled his son close. "I don't see why not. I don't believe Appa has anything important to do today, baby..."

The young boy squealed in the 22 year olds grasp. "Hurry, hurry, Umma! Let's go see Appa!"

"Neh, neh..."

Jinae looked up from his umma's arms in amazement at the tall building. "Umma, this is where Appa works?"

Mir coddled his son close to his chest and nodded. "Yes. Appa's office is all the way at the top."

"Doesn't Appa get dizzy being up so high?"

Mir giggled. "You'll have to ask him yourself, baby. Let's go inside, alright?"

Jinae squirmed in Mir's hold. "Appa, Appa..." he whispered excitedly.

Mir walked up to the entrance only to have the door opened for him. Mir bowed as much as he could due to the fidgeting toddler in his arms. "Thank you, Hunjae."

The old man smiled. "Ah! Cheolyong, nice to see you again. Oh, is this little Jinae that I've been hearing so much about?"

Jinae waved his hand at the doorman shyly. "Hi, ahjussi..."

Hunjae smiled. "Hello, Jinae... I'm glad your umma finally brought you to visit."

Jinae smiled. "We're gonna see Appa!"

Hunjae looked at Mir. Mir chuckled. "Joonie doesn't know we're here. Thought we'd surprise him..."

The other man smiled warmly. "Well, it will be a pleasant surprise. Have a nice afternoon, Cheolyong."

Mir nodded and walked up to the receptionist's desk. The woman looked up and when her gaze landed on the two, her eyes sparkled. "Oh, Mireu, it's so good to see you again!" She eyed the little boy in Mir's arms. "Omo! Is this your and Mr. Lee's son? So big already! I remember when you would visit and you looked ripe to pop! This is your first time bringing him here, right?"

Mir giggled as the older woman talked. She was such a chatterbox, but so nice. "Neh, Eun... he wanted to visit Joonie. I know I usually come here by myself, but Jinae's 3 years old now, so I thought he could come with..."

The elderly woman grinned and reached out, gingerly pinching the toddler's round cheeks. "Such a beautiful boy, just like your umma..."

Jinae blushed and tucked his head in Mir's neck. "...'m not beautiful- I'm manly, like Appa..."

Mir and Eun shared a laugh at the depressing expression on Jinae's face. Mir wiped away the tears forming in his eyes and looked at Eun again. "Is Changsun busy right now Eun? We're kinda here on, uh, short notice..."

"Oh deary, he's never too busy for his beautiful husband and baby boy. But no, Mr. Lee has nothing scheduled. Go right up, sweetie."

Mir bowed before turning to look at his son. "Jinae, say goodbye to Eun."

Jinae blushed again but wouldn't remove himself from Mir's neck. He stretched out a hand and waved it. "Bye bye..."

Eun smiled. "Precious. Take care Mir, and make sure to visit often now, okay?"

Mir giggled. "Thank you, Eun!"

He turned away to make his way to the elevators. He set his son down. "Do you want to walk now, Jinae?"

The young boy nodded. "Neh, Umma..." As soon as he was let down and they were in the elevator, Jinae plastered himself against the glass. As the elevator went up, he was amazed at how small the people were getting, and he laughed at how the buildings surrounding his appa's work turned into tiny boxes. "Appa works so high up, Umma..."

Mir dragged his hand through his son's hair. "Yes he does... Did you know that when Umma first came here, I was scared to go up so high?"

Jinae looked up at Mir, amazed. "You were scared, Umma?" His umma was always so happy, and never scared of anything!

Mir nodded. He opened his mouth to continue, but the elevator doors dinged open on the 80th story floor. "Ah... I'll tell you the story in a bit, baby..." He grabbed Jinae in his arms again and walked out into the hallway. Jinae was scared of all the people that were walking past them and stuffed his head in Mir's neck. Mir rubbed his back and kissed his temple. "Shh... It's okay, Jinnie. Let's go see Appa, okay?" Feeling the nod against his neck, Mir walked to the very last door marked 'Lee Changsun - CEO' and opened the door quietly, peeking his head in.

He smiled when he saw that it was only his husband in the room, along with another friend of theirs: Lee Hongki. "Permission to enter the armory?" Mir whispered playfully.

Joon's head shot up and Hongki was so startled by the voice that he toppled over in his chair. Joon looked over at his fallen friend. "Smooth move, Axel," he laughed.

Hongki flipped him off. "I'll have you know that was completely on purpose. I was testing the durability of the floor."

Mir chuckled and fully entered the room with Jinae in his arms. "I didn't mean to scare you, Hongki..."

"Wasn't scared," the man grumbled, picking himself up off the floor.

Spotting his husband and child, Joon's eyes immediately lit up. He stood up from his chair and strode towards the duo. Jinae reached out his arms. "Appa!" he giggled happily. Joon smiled and took his son from his husband's grasp, swinging him around before hugging him tightly. He glanced at his younger husband as the boy looked at them with a soft gaze. Joon grabbed Mir around the waist with one hand and dragged him in to steal a sweet kiss from his lips. Mir hummed happily and returned the small gesture before pulling away. He watched as Jinae smiled and buried his head in his appa's neck, cuddling into the warm body.

"He's been wanting to see his appa all day..." Mir mumbled, reaching up and his baby's soft hair.

Joon chuckled and enveloped both of his babies in his strong arms. "Well I've been wanting to see you, too. This is a nice surprise..."

Mir nodded, and like his son, buried himself in his husband's warmth.

"Yah, what am I? Chopped liver?" Hongki complained.

Joon smirked. "You want a kiss too, Hongki?" he wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and laughed at the man's horrified look.

"Ugh! No thank you, ya ! I have Jaejin for that!"

Mir smiled and turned to Hongki at the mention of his fellow 'housewife'. "How is he, Hongki?"

Hongki smiled brightly. "Jaejin is doing well. Very well, actually. He's been complaining about how you guys don't come over very much anymore. He wants you to cook with him again, Mir. He also wants to see Jinae again."

"I wanna see Auntie Jaejin too, Umma!" Jaejin whined.

Mir chuckled. "Okay, we'll have to visit soon, Jinnie.... Hongki- the baby...?"

Hongki's smile widened. "Jaejin is in his 8th month now- he looks like he's gonna give birth any minute. It's fascinating though..." His eyes took on a gentle look. "Jaejin has this glow just surrounding him. It's amazing, and he's so beautiful..."

Joon smiled. "Calm yourself, Hongki... and speaking of Jaejin, weren't you supposed to go home early today?"

Hongki's eyes widened. "Ah- yes! Oh Shisus, yes! Ahhh Jaejin's gonna kill me! I'll see you guy's later! Bye, Jinae!" He rushed out the door.

Jinae waved. "Bye, Uncle Hongki!"

Mir turned his attention back to Joon and grinned. "Joonie, I have a new American recipe I'm trying tonight."

Joon kissed the tip of his nose. "Anything you make will be wonderful, baby..."

"Appa?" Jinae asked.

Joon grinned and ruffled his son's hair. "Yes, little man?"

"When do you get to leave work? I want to play with you and Umma..."

Looking at his son's pleading eyes made Joon bite his lip. He turned to look at Mir, only seeing the same puppy dog eyes and sad smile.

"It... has been awhile since we've spent time as a family, Changsun..." Mir whispered.

Joon closed his eyes and nodded. He knew. He knew and he felt horrible. His son and husband were the most important things in his life, and he barely got to spend time with them at the moment because of work. The older man sighed and handed Jinae to Mir, before walking over to his desk and calling Eun.

"Eun? I don't have any plans for the rest of the day, do I?..... No?.... Okay, I'm going to leave early then.... Yes.... Yes, I'm going to spend some time with Jinae and Mir....Okay... Yes, alright. Thank you, Eun." Joon ended the call and turned back to meet the wide eyes of his husband. Joon chuckled. "I'm leaving work early. Jinae, where should we go first?"

____________________________________________________________

Jinae babbled on happily as he walked between his umma and appa, clutching tightly to their hands. He led them to the local park near Joon's work place and instantly walked towards the swings. "Neh, Appa, push me and Umma on the swings!" he requested cutely. Before Joon could protest, Mir had grabbed Jinae tightly around the waist and sat down in a swing. He looked at Joon expectantly.

Joon sighed. "You two are going to be the death of me..." he walked over and grabbed the chains of the swing tightly. "Hang on," he murmured in Mir's ear before pushing lightly. Jinae giggled happily and Mir smiled, clutching his baby closer to himself. Joon smiled at the sight and pushed them a little higher, delighting in Jinae's playful squeal and Mir's chiming laughter.

_____________________________________________________________

Joon sighed as he slumped against the trunk of a giant oak tree. Jinae was wearing him out. He loved his son, but Jinae was so full of energy! "He's like Mir," Joon muttered, smiling.

"Who's like me, Joonie?"

Joon looked up, surprised, only to meet with his husband's playful gaze. Joon grinned and shook his head. "Nothing important, baby." He reached up and grabbed the smaller male by the waist, dragging Mir onto his lap. He nuzzled the back of Mir's neck. "Where's Jinae?"

Mir pointed in front of him and Joon saw his son playing in a sand box with some other kids. He was safe, that's all Joon cared about. The older male sighed and placed a kiss on Mir's nape and tightened his arms around the smaller's waist. "This is nice," he said.

Mir hummed in agreement and snuggled back against Joon's chest, sitting in between his legs. "Jinae misses you, Changsun. I do too..."

Joon felt guilt run through him again. "I know, Mireu... As soon as this production period is over, I'll have a lot more free time. I'll spend all of it with you and Jinae..."

"I never doubted that Joonie. We just miss you at home."

Joon ran his fingers through the others hair as Mir nudged his head into the crook of his neck and closed his eyes. However, their quiet moment was interuppted by a loud voice.

"Umma! Appa!"

Both glanced up to see Jinae running towards them. Mir smiled and held out his arms. Jinae ran right into them, knocking Mir back into Joon. Mir laughed as he clutched his baby tightly, and Jinae giggled before placing himself in Mir's lap. "Umma," he said sleepily.

"Is my baby sleepy?" Mir whispered, removing hair from Jinae's eyes. The toddler nodded before yawning and cuddling into his umma. "Okay, baby- sleep for awhile. We won't go anywhere," Mir said. He gathered the tired boy in his arms and hummed a gentle lullaby in his ear, easing him to sleep. Every so often, Mir would place a kiss on his baby's temple.

As the lullaby came to an end, Joon slowly wrapped his arms around his two most precious people. "Is he asleep?"

Mir nodded lazily. "MmHmm..."

Joon chuckled. "You tired too, baby...?"

"Just... Just a little..."

The older chuckled before gently lowering Mir's head to his shoulder; Jinae still wrapped securely in the younger's arms. "Sleep, Mireu..."

Mir nodded before inhaling the safe and strong scent of his husband. He knew that he and Jinae would be protected. "I love you, Changsun..."

As Mir and Jinae slept in Joon's arms, the man couldn't help but think about how lucky he was. He had a beautiful and loving husband, and a son that could light up his day with a smile. Joon couldn't stop himself from placing a kiss on his son's forehead, and a soft, lingering one on his husband's lips.

This was where he belonged.
