Kyuhyun watched intently as Sungmin paced up and down, checking his phone every now and then and muttering the words “Why isn’t Vic calling me back yet?” with a pout on his face. That pout grew bigger and bigger and he couldn’t help but laugh. He was worried about Changmin too, but he couldn’t help but stare at the human in amusement. Sungmin is just too cute; he mused then shook his head at the sudden random thought. Where did that come from?
Finally, even the small strawberry headed man got dizzy watching him and called out. “Hey! Can you stop that? You’re making my head hurt” he frowned, holding a hand to his forehead.
“But…I’m worried!” Sungmin answered with a huff, though he did stop his pacing. “She hasn’t called me back yet and it’s been hours already!”
Kyuhyun crossed his arms “Maybe she hasn’t arrived yet, you sound just like her father. Besides, if anything happens...Changmin is definitely going to protect her” he said boldly, nodding.
“I’m a little worried about him too. You promise he doesn’t have ill intentions?”
“Yah, Changmin’s not like that” he insisted, though Kyuhyun did wonder why his friend suddenly acted that way, he was damn sure when he said Changmin is not a bad guy. He knew his best friend well.
Sungmin sighed, sitting himself down on one of the stools close to the counter where Kyuhyun was perched. “Alright, I believe you” he said, not sure why he did but he trusted the little guy. “I just need to see they’re okay”
“That girl is really important to you, huh?” he wasn’t sure why, but Kyuhyun didn’t like the way Sungmin was so fixated on the other human. It wasn’t even his business...he just didn’t like it at all.
“She’s like a sister to me” the blond admitted, “Her parents took me and Sungjin in when we were still little, and she’s the only family I have left” it struck him that he was actually telling stuff about him that he usually kept in the dark to some random guy he just met. But while he thought it would be strange and awkward, it didn’t feel like Kyuhyun would judge him at all.
“She’s lucky to have a big brother like you then” Kyuhyun told him. He had a big sister himself he left back home. He could never imagine what it was like to be alone, it was no wonder Sungmin seemed to be so lonely then. Somehow, he wished he could change that.
“Thanks Kyuhyun-shi” Sungmin found himself smiling. It felt weird to be complimented by a weird little guy, but it still made him happy all the same.
“Kyuhyun”
“W-What?”
“You can just call me Kyuhyun, the –shi sounds too formal.” He shrugged, then somehow amused again at the look on Sungmin’s face now.
He wasn’t blushing—-good lord, definitely not—-it would be so strange if he would from such words from such a little guy. But damn it, Sungmin’s cheeks were flaming. He cleared his throat at once “Kyuhyun, then”
Kyuhyun nodded, smirking in a way Sungmin almost choked on air. (“Goddamn it, why does this keep happening”) “Better”
They were silent again after that, Sungmin stil
