Prologue(Hyuna) - Let me break free

I should have called that day, “Doomsday,” the moment I first saw you.   Because that’s when I started drowning, every moment I was with you.  The problem was, I didn’t notice at first.  I had mistaken the suffocating feeling as curiosity and fascination.  I wanted more and more.  You were too addictive.

Why did you take my hand and smile?  You whispered something, I only pretended to understand.  I tried to run away.  From your words, from your lures, but I couldn’t.  You had me trapped with your enticing nature.

And so, I finally noticed that I was drowning.  It was too late.  I can no longer see the surface.

I’m sorry.  Why were those words so hard for me to say to you?  Maybe it’s because when I’ve finally realised how much I’ve hurt you, it’s already too late to say those words.  It’s when I know any words I say will not reach you. 

I’ve been careless.  Because I thought we were okay.  But now I realise I’ve taken you for granted all this time.

When I took your hand and brought you closer to me, I thought about it.  Even though we were so close, our bodies entwining, and your touch that always seem to heal me, I wonder just how much you were breaking inside because of me.

Yet, I feel you desperately holding on to me.  On to what is left of us.  So I can’t bring myself to let you go.
