Foreword
4th drabble
Chanyeol cheers as his best friend, Baekhyun, stands in front of the stage with a confident smile on his face. Chanyeol squeezes his lover's hand with an excited smile. He turns to his lover, "Oh my god Wufan! He's gonna be great!" Kris smiles at him, nodding in agreement. The instrumental of Lips of an Angel then booms out from every speaker, cheers and whistles are heard from the audience.
In the middle of Baekhyun's performance, Chanyeol needs to pee so he excuses himself. He peed fast because he doesn't want to miss his best friend's performance. Luckily, it hasn't ended when he enters the auditorium. He glances at Baekhyun and notices something in his eyes, specifically, love in his eyes.
OH MY GOSH MY BEST FRIEND IS IN LOVE! Chanyeol squeals in his head. Although he feels disappointed that Baekhyun didn't tell him, he's still happy for his best friend. He follows Baek's gaze but it ended up on Kris.
Huh? Something inside Chanyeol cracked.
There must be something wrong maybe it's someone behind Kris. Chanyeol says in his mind. Although he knew for a fact that Kris is too tall that he can hide any person behind him.
Glancing back at his best friend, who has his eyes closed now and bows. He returns his gaze back to his lover, and he knew something's happening; he just doesn't want to believe it.
Because in Kris' gaze; there's adoration and excitement in his eyes that Chanyeol can't help but notice.
"Hyung~ Pick me up?"
Chanyeol uses aegyo on the phone because he is stranded in a mall. He was with his friends but they decided to leave early. So, Chanyeol uses his time to spend it with Kris.
"I-I can't yeobo." He hears hesitation in Kris' voice. He frowns. "Why not??"
"I'm taking my friend's shift for the night. I thought we didn't plan anything for today?" Kris' voice sounds confident now. Huh, weird. Chanyeol thinks, before saying,
"Alright hyung! I love you~"
"Love you too."
Where's I?
"Kris hyung, where are you?"
Kris hears his boyfriend ask on the other line of the phone. He grips on Baekhyun's shoulder tightly. Hating that he has to lie to Chanyeol; again.
"I'm at work yeobo; call me later, I need to finish this." Hanging up, he places a peck on Baekhyun's cheek who looks up at him with a sad smile. Guilt and sadness is seen in their faces, though they did try to hide it.
"Don't think about it, Baek."
Baekhyun bites his lips before nodding and eating his ordered food. Kris follows suit and eats, ignoring the stares people gave them inside the restaurant. They don't know us, Kris says. This is a far place from ours. No one knows us here. Stop being paranoid Kris. He reminds himself before enjoying his time with Baekhyun and congratulating him on winning in that contest from last week.
Chanyeol saw it coming. And yet, he just didn't want to believe it. But now, he can't help but bite his fist; holding back a sob as he watched his lover and bestfriend being cuddly inside a restaurant, with only a glass of window as their barrier.
With shattering sounds inside of him, Chanyeol breaks down on the street without a care in the world. ing liars.
