Third: Short-Distance Chat

Hakyeon was ready to climb up his bed and plop his head down to his fluffy pillow, then have some beautiful dreams about rainbows and unicorns. Wait, what?

He hadn’t seen Wonshik for the day. He missed that guy so much he could just squeeze his pillows or bolsters tightly or even wide awake only to wait for a call from his one and only lover. He hadn’t received any call or message, which irked him to the hilt. Oh, yes, he was angry alright. Angry to Wonshik who had forgotten about him. You think he was kidding? Nope. He wasn’t.

Suddenly he heard a buzz out of nowhere, which annoyed him more. He was pretty sure it was coming from his cell phone, vibrating non-stop on his desk. He was so lazy to lift up his from the mattress, but for God’s sake, if it was Wonshik who was sending the message a second ago! He had been waiting for that, and he wouldn’t let himself down.

Reluctantly, he pushed himself off from the bed, jumping to his ground and he always had that insecure feeling when he was about to check a message from certain someone. He was traumatized; back in his childhood, someone had sent a message to a phone which he didn’t really know how to operate. And that message told him that his father was sent to the nearest hospital because an accident occurred about thirty minutes before that message arrived to belongs-to-no-one phone. Hopefully the message he just received wouldn’t bring the same news.

He did a few tapping on the phone’s screen when it finally ended up in his grasp. He tapped on the message’s notification and the message completely filled the screen:

Hakyeon puffed his cheeks at the message, and he quickly texted back by typing in:

Tapping on the ‘Send’ button, he sighed and tossed his phone onto the bed, feeling dejected because he couldn’t feel the sorry through a text message. He wanted to hear it directly from the younger’s lips. Imagining Wonshik said his sorry was probably too much for Hakyeon to handle, resulting him to chuckle at the thought.

His phone buzzed again and he went crawling to his bed to grab his phone back to his grasp. He tapped on the screen again and read the message:

In curiosity, Hakyeon jumped off the bed again and peered out of the window. Across his house was another house and there was a same window facing to his. Surprisingly, there was a blond-haired figure standing there with a smile on his face. He waved to Hakyeon and the older couldn’t help but blushing and waved back right away. It was Wonshik, the older guessed, and it took him no time to guess. From the distinct blond hair, he was so sure he was going to explode in happiness right there.

Wonshik took something from his side, showing it to Hakyeon and it looked like a huge sketchbook. Maybe it was. The older wasn’t so sure about that one.

The younger flipped open the book, revealing a beautifully sketched sentence that said:

HAPPY THIRD MONTHSARY!

Then, Wonshik flipped the paper and brought Hakyeon to another page with different sentence(s):

Hope we can still last long until the next one-hundred years! I’m sorry I’ve been busy with my work! :(

Hakyeon’s lips broke into a smile and Wonshik smiled back just as soft. He flipped for another page that made Hakyeon’s heart went wild:
