“Jessica!”

Kris stumbled in his haste to get to his friend, the blonde man falling to his knees and gingerly taking the unconscious priestess into his arms to check for a pulse. A sigh of relief escaped his lips when he found it, though it wasn’t a strong as he’d like it to be, and, like a switch was immediately , he became conscious of the fact that those outside were yelling, demanding what was going on. He knew at that point that Jessica did finish her chant and the part of their group that was locked out undoubtedly heard Jessica crash into the door and the subsequent horrified screams that followed.

“Is she okay?” Yoona sniffed, glancing behind her to see Sangjun watching them intently. 

“She’s alive but she’s hurt. I don’t know how bad.” Quickly, the blonde healer probed the back of Jessica’s headed, wincing when he felt a sizable bump as well as some blood. “Changmin! Call Donghae!”

“Kris, what the hell happened? Is Jessica okay?” To his surprise, it was Heechul who answered him. “What the happened to her? We heard you screaming!”

“She’s alive but she’s hurt.” He repeated. “We need to get her to the hospital fast. We need to get out of here or else we’re going to die.”

When it looked like Heechul was about to go and attack the door, one of Kyuhyun’s arms shot out and placed a restraining hand on the older man’s shoulders. He absently noted that Siwon was indeed on the phone with Donghae, explaining the situation the best way he could to the doctor on the end of the line. “I know you’re worried but they’re already in danger as is. We can’t afford to do anything stupid.” He said quietly.

He looked like he was going to argue but eventually his shoulders sagged in defeat. “What are we going to do?”

Kyuhyun exchanged a meaningful glance with his brother. “We need to exorcise him.”

“Exorcise?” Sooyoung repeated, nearly hissing in disapproval. “Sangjun’s not evil! He’s just hurt and angry and lost, Kyu.”

“Don’t you think I know that?” The dark haired man hissed back in return, fighting to keep his frustration at the situation at bay. “If there’s anyone who needs to pay for this, it’s Hyungwon. But he’s not here. We can look and look and look but chances are we won’t find him. Sangjun’s too blinded now and we need to end this. We need to close this case.”

“Is it really a case closed if we do?”

“We have no other choice.”

He could see that she knew he was right and that she accepted his reason. “It’s inhumane.” She reasoned weakly. He admired her for trying one last time, even if she knew it wouldn’t work, to save a soul. To save what was once a human being. The world could be such a dark place at times and he fervently prayed that she wouldn’t lose that will to save people, both those who deserved it and those who didn’t.

“I know, Soo.” Kyuhyun wrapped an arm around her shoulders comfortingly. “But we have to stop this. I’d rather that Sangjun just ceases to exist instead of damning him in an eternity of misery and anger. We don’t want him to do anything that will actually make him deserving of an exorcism because he killed our friends.”

She didn’t say anything anymore, merely nodding her head and smiling feebly, her way of agreeing to the idea. Kyuhyun smiled back at her before turning back to his brother, who had a rather resigned look on his face, and giving his signal to push through with the idea.

“Heechul, do you think you can do an exorcism from here?” Changmin asked.

The man in question shook his head. “Negative. I can’t see him right now so it’s going to be a problem attempting it from outside.”

He press
