“I’ve already called Chinese Restaurant …”
“Okkkkkkk …”
After snorting at his sing-sang tone, Hyesung finally got into the bathroom to take a bath. Now, both of them were too used to
staying at each other’s homes and using each other’s things. Well, it was natural since they had been dating for nearly six
months now. They even started the ritual of sleeping over at each other’s homes on weekends and this week was the turn of
Hyesung’s apartment. It was Saturday night and they just decided to order some food from Chinese Restaurant since both of
them were not in the mood to cook for dinner.
Changing into shorts and loose T-shirt, he stepped out to the livingroom before turning TV on and surfing channels one after one
in a rather bored and tired mood. They had been out all day, shopping once in a while and it had really drained all of their
energy, especially for him. They had just been searching for a new suit for him and one or two dress shirts for Hyesung but he
still had not had an idea how they had ended up using all day for just that.
“I don’t understand why women love to do shopping … It’s really more tiring than working out …”
Letting out a deep sigh, he sank down into the sofa, pressing the buttons on the remote control absentmindedly while he heard
the doorbell ringing.
“Ah! Delivery is fast, huh?”
Picking up his wallet on the table, he almost ran to the door and opened it immediately even without caring to check the
intercom.
“You are fast …”
His words were cut off suddenly by the sight in front of his eyes and he went rigid in a millisecond seeing a person in front of the
door. And that person reacted in the same way with his, literally dropping his jaws and being frozen.
“Min … Minwoo … yah …”
“E … Eric?”
Both of them let out shocked exclamations almost at the same time while staring at each other. Minwoo looked really surprised
at first but a few seconds later, his surprised expression changed into a curious and suspicious one.
“What are you doing in Hyesung’s apartment?”
Firm tone of Minwoo really freaked him out since his short friend still did not have a single clue about him and Hyesung’s
relationship for these entire 6 months. He had no problem about that but Hyesung was still doubting if Minwoo could accept
them or not and he did not want to make Minwoo freak out. So, they even had to close Dongwan’s mouth not to spill it to the
boutique owner.
But, now, that Minwoo was in front of Hyesung’s apartment without giving a call first with a pack of beers in his hand and
unfortunately, it was Saturday which meant he was also in his boyfriend’s home.
“Eric …?”
Being called his name again, he automatically gulped down while his brain was running in the speed of light to find a decent
excuse of his existence here.
“Ah … I’m … I’m just here … to play games … Yes … to play games …”
Awkwardly chuckling at the end of his answer, he only got Minwoo’s frown and the short man did not reply anything back, just
opening the door wider to let himself in.
“Please … Please”
He kept on praying to make Minwoo a naïve one to believe his excuse while the latter was busy taking off his shoes at the
doorway. But, unfortunately in a timing way, Hyesung’s loud yelling appeared from the bedroom.
“Eric! Where’re my black boxers? You’re wearing them again?”
At the moment, he really hoped Minwoo to be deaf while cursing the dramatic timing. Why had it to be “boxers”? Seriously, it
would be better if Hyesung yelled something else and at least he could throw another reasonable excuse to Minwoo. But, now,
black boxers?
Seeing Minwoo being tensed up immediately and lifting his head slowly towards him, he could not help but gulp down more while
forcing another awkward smile to his friend.
“Jung Hyuk-ah, Don’t you hear ….”
With the abruptly ended voice, the sight of Hyesung getting out of the bedroom only with a towel on his waist appeared and it
was even funny how Hyesung’s annoyed expression turned into a shocked one in the next second, seeing the unexpected
visitor at late night.
“Min … Minwoo …”
Literally, the silence fell at once in the whole apartment and he did not have any idea how to break that atmosphere, just
looking back and forth between frozen Minwoo and his statue boyfriend.
“Well … Minwoo …”
“Just put on some clothes first …”
Just like that, Minwoo stopped the panicked-looking Hyesung’s talking before he headed to the sofa in the living room, dropping
the pack of beers he brought onto the table with a loud thud sound.
Glancing back at his boyfriend, he saw Hyesung was still shocked and frozen at the sudden incident and could not move from his
standing spot yet. Approaching the frozen one, he just gave a nudge to him, gesturing to do as Minwoo had said. Like his soul
being back to his body, Hyesung just got back his sanity and slowly walked towards to the bedroom.
At that time, “ding-dong” sound came out again and he reluctantly headed towards the door again to open, this time surely
knowing who was on the other side of the door.
Placing the dishes they had ordered from Chinese Restaurant on the table without words, he did not even dare to glance at his
friend who was equally silent and just sitting there. Not being able to guess what would be Minwoo’s reaction to their
relationship that was more than friends, at the moment, he was feeling like a bad student in front of a teacher.
Then, in an few seconds, Hyesung got out of the bedroom again, this time with full clothes, in a rather reluctant and timid way,
walking towards to the place they were sitting.
“Care to explain me?”
The words from Minwoo made both of them tensed up and automatically, they looked at each other as if they could ask help
from each other.
“For your information, I’m not a fool … You, Shin Hyesung, definitely are not a guy who shares boxers with others … even with
close friends … so … it’s the best to tell me the truth …”
Minwoo’s next words made the atmosphere more frozen and he felt like he could hear the breathing sounds of them clearly.
“We’re dating …”
The sudden firm outburst from Hyesung earned gasps from both him and Minwoo. After giving Hyesung a shocked look, Minwoo
shifted his gaze towards him and like an automatic reaction, he nodded as an answer for the unspoken question from Minwoo.
“You mean … Dating in a serious … OK … It means you two are in a relationship … like a couple?”
Maybe Minwoo’s question was a rhetorical one, but they still nodded at the same time, staring at each other. After their nods,
the atmosphere went silent and still again and both of them glanced at their short friend who was showing calm and unreadable
expression on his face.
He even held his breath subconsciously while waiting for Minwoo’s voice. He thought Hyesung was also surely doing the same
thing too.
“Ok … Then, you’re acting like dog and cat all this time … pretending to hide your relationship … That’s it?”
“NO!”
Both of him and Hyesung’s voice went out at the same time and even Minwoo seemed to be startled at their strong denial.
“No … It’s not like that … Minwoo-yah … We’re really not in good terms at first … It’s not pretending … It’s real … but later …”
After ceasing his words halfway, Hyesung gave a glance at him like he was asking for help and he thought it was time for him to
step in.
“Well … later … We solved it out somehow … and …”
“And you became an item … That’s what you mean?”
This time, his words were cut by Minwoo and the long sentences in his head disappeared just with the short conclusion of
Minwoo. Yes. That was the conclusion of all reasons and explanations.
They became an item.
He gave a nod at the one asking while stealing a glance at his boyfriend sitting across of him. Hyesung looked nervous and merely
seeing by his tight fists, he could guess how much Hyesung was being tensed up. It was no wonder at all for him since he already
knew how much Hyesung had been worried for and doubtful of Minwoo’s reaction all this time. Hyesung could not assure of
Minwoo’s mind simply because he had not told him the fact of him liking the same gender since the beginning and also they had
become close friends in barely last two years, unlike his long-life friend, Dongwan.
“And how long did you plan to hide it from us?”
Minwoo just threw that one sharp question after a few seconds, glancing at him and Hyesung alternatively.
“Actually … Dongwan … knows it …”
The soft whisper of Hyesung was surely caught by Minwoo’s ears and with those words, Minwoo’s face got reddened with rage
in an instant and he suddenly realized Hyesung had just done the wrong thing.
“So … You mean I’m the only fool here? I’m the only one who didn’t know this?”
Minwoo’s question in cold voice literally sent shivers down his spine and he guessed Hyesung also felt the same since the latter
suddenly lifted his head which had been hung low for the last few minutes.
“Minwoo-yah … It’s not like …”
“What? I’m not your friend? I’m not that reliable? Or I’m not that important? Shin Hyesung! Mun Jung Hyuk! You two are damn
real actors!”
Seeing the raging Minwoo for the first time, both of them got the biggest shock of their life and even could not utter a single
word to reply him. Minwoo seemed to be really mad at them since even his ears started to reddening like all blood in his body
shot up to his head.
“Ok … Then … Keep on putting your show … But sorry … I can’t be your stupid audience anymore …”
With those words, Minwoo stormed out of the apartment and he felt like he was also going out of their life.
After hearing the loud door banging, both of them let out loud breaths that they even did not know they had been keeping in.
Seeing his “Sesame” who was now like a lifeless being, he stood up and sat beside Hyesung, pulling him into his chest and
patting his back softly.
“What should we do now?”
Only after many silent minutes, the soft and muffled voice of Hyesung appeared and at that time, he was just blank, not knowing
how to reply him the best as a kind of consoling. Since he knew Hyesung only had a handful of close friends and how much his
affection on those friends were, he could kind of understand Hyesung’s current feeling. Hyesung must be feeling guilty and sad
at the same time and he would be blaming himself for this incident like forever. Knowing all of them, his mind got numb more
and more, not being able to find any word.
“It’ll be ok … baby … Let’s just wait …”
Those were the best words he could manage to let out although he already knew how they sounded like a lame cliché. But, he
was thankful to Hyesung who even nodded softly back at his awkward reply.
“It’ll be ok … Right?”
Patting Hyesung’s back as a reply, he blankly stared at the plates of cold dishes from Chinese Restaurant and the pack of beers
that Minwoo left on the table.
Well. Everything should be solved out somehow soon, right?
