Foreword
I came running out into the rain with my hand covering my mouth, trying to muffle my sobs. I guess this is for the best. Yes,it’s for the best; Best For both of us. I kept telling my self as I ran away from him. From the man I love, from my happiness.
“_______!” He yelled out as He came running after me.
“Please. Please. Let me leave.” I ran faster the moment I heard him. But he was too quick for me. In a few long strides he had already caught up to me. He pulled me into a hug, burying my face in his chest. I struggled to get away from his hug. But he was too strong.
“Let go of me, please” I finally whispered into his chest; with a mixture of tears and rain drenching his chest.
“I won’t. I can’t. Until you listen to me.” He said to me
“no, I’m tired of hearing your excuses. I’m tired of you. Please. Let me go.” I begged him not even putting up a fight.
“You promised me you will never leave…”he said.
“I did. I was stupid. I made a stupid stupid mistake. Falling in love with you was a mistake. Now please, let go of me.” I said. The moment I finished my sentence he let go of me. I took a few steps back. He looked at me, in disbelief, In pain.
“You don’t mean that.” He said, he was trembling, I wasn’t sure if it was because of the rain or of his anger.
“I do. I mean it.” I said looking down on the ground. Not wanting to see his expression; The pain in his eyes.
“No you don’t.” he said his voice was trembling.
“Yes, I do. I mean it.” I said looking away from him. I could hear my heart fall to the ground as I said that.
“then tell it to my face!” he grabbed both my arms and lightly shook me.
“I MEAN IT! LOVING YOU WAS A MISTAKE!” I said. Looking straight into his eyes.
He was silent. He wasn’t looking at me at all. I knew I had broken his heart again. and the thought of me breaking his heart was too much to bear. I had to look away.
“Now please, let me go. you don’t need me. Anymore.”
As soon as He loosened his grip on me, I took a few steps back and ran as fast as I could. I need to get away before I change my mind, before I tell him the truth why.
I still loved him. I do. but this is just the best for us.
