CHAPTER ONE ; 3RD POV

It was 30 minutes into the class. Most of the students couldn’t be bothered as it was the last class of the day, but there were a few students that took this class seriously. One of them being Jinyoung. Usually this class would go by smoothly as no one would really speak up nor the teacher asking so many questions but today was different from the rest.  “Come with me tonight please” The light brown haired girl sighed in her seat. Her best friend Yubin has been bugging begging Jinyoung to go to this underground rap event. According to Yubin, she only goes there on Tuesdays but Jinyoung thinks otherwise.

“I can’t go. I have a lot of studying to do tonight” Jinyoung whispered as she tried to focus on what the teacher was saying. A grunt could be heard from her left. Jinyoung glanced at Yubin who had her arms crossed, a scowl evident on her face. “That’s all you do. Study. When was the last time you did something besides that?” Jinyoung knew what her friend said was right. Studying is all she ever did but she never complained about it. Jinyoung looked down at the notes she took and started to think ‘Maybe I should go but my parents….they wouldn’t let me go out tonight. Especially one a school night

Jinyoung’s thoughts were cut as the bell rung. All of the students started to pack up their things and the two friends did the same. As soon as the two exited to classroom, Yubin started asking questions...again. “Just this once? Why do you have to study everyday? Don’t you have a life outside of those textbooks?” Jinyoung stopped in her tracks. “If I say yes will you stop questioning my life?” Yubin nodded her head, agreeing to the deal. Not being pleased on what she is about to say next, Jinyoung spoke “fine” “Yes!” Yubin shouted as she fist pumped the air. One thought was running through the nervous girl ‘How am I going to explain this to my parents?’

Jinyoung was in her bedroom doing some homework when her phone vibrated on her desk. Taking a quick peck at it, it was a message from Yubin. She contemplated whether she should reply to it now or wait until she finished her work. After a few minutes of thinking, she grabbed her phone.

From: Yubinooo
Time: 6:40 PM
Message: I’m picking you up at 9

From: Jinyoung
Time: 6:45 PM
Message: Why so late?

From: Yubinooo
Time: 6:45 PM
Message: Cause that’s when it starts ^o^

Jinyoung’s eyes widened upon seeing the time of the event. There is no way her parents are going to let her go. She’s knows that for a fact.

It’s been 2 hours and now Jinyoung finally summed up some courage to ask. With her head held high, she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where her mother was washing dishes from dinner. Once her mother came into view that courage she had started to slip away. “Mom..” Jinyoung started as she walked closer to her mother. Her mother hummed in response. “I was wondering if it was okay if I could go out with Yubin tonight.” Jinyoung played with her fingers. “And where do you two plan to go out?” The older women asked, not taking her eyes away from the dishes she was cleaning

Jinyoung had no idea what to say. Should could tell where she was actually going. Her mother would look a her as if she was crazy to even think about going to a place like that. she definitely had to come up with something convincing. “uh Y-Yubin’s brother and his friends are performing at this cafe. I just want to support them.” Jinyoung lied.  “I don’t think so” In came Jinyoung’s father. Out of both of her parents, her father is the strictest with her. Well with grades of course. “But dad I barely leave this house. Just this once please? I won’t ask to leave again” As much as she didn’t want to admit she started to sound like Yubin with all of the pleading.

“I agree with your father Jinyoung. It’s a school night, you know how we feel about that” Her mother turned around with her arms crossed. Looking at her parents, she nodded her head “Fine” she said through gritted teeth. Jinyoung her heels and stumped out of the kitchen and into her bedroom. ‘I can’t stand my parents. Sue I love them but most of the time their unreasonable’ She started to pace back and forth ‘I’m going out regardless whether they like it or not’ She picked up her phone from her desk and called Yubin.

Yubin: “Hello?”

Jinyoung: “Hey it’s me”

Yubin: “what’s up?”

Jinyoung: “About tonight-“

Yubin: “Come on don’t tell me you’re bailing out on me”

Jinyoung: “No. Just pick me up from my window. Like I expected my parents said no but…I want to go”

Yubin: “Wow going against your parents I’m impressed”

Jinyoung: “Ha ha ha very funny. I’m gonna go now”

Yubin: “Oh wait! Make sure you wear something…appropriate”

Jinyoung: “Appropriate? Like what?”

Yubin: “Just don’t dress like a good girl”

Jinyoung: “Okay…bye”

Yubin: “Bye”

Jinyoung threw her phone on her bed and walked over to the closet. She scanned over her clothes as she tried to look for something appropriate. ‘Now what to wear?’
