joonmyun felt like a teenager, and he wasn't entirely sure if that was a bad thing. he had invited chanyeol back to his apartment after a date and joonmyun had had one too many glasses of wine. normally when he had company over, he would tell the kids that he would be bringing a guest over. tonight though, he was just a bit too tipsy to care.

he and chanyeol sat on the couch, whispering and sipping wine as they told jokes and stories. this was how joonmyun envisioned his perfect night ending, and he didn't expect anything less. leaning over, he pressed his lips against chanyeol's, in a light kiss. then one kiss became two. then three. then chnayeol was pressing them against his lips every chance that he had. his lips felt good against joonmyun's, and he couldn't get enough of it.

"stay the night." joonmyun whispered against his lips. he knew hat they couldn't actually do anything. not while the kids were still sleeping, but it would be nice to have chanyeol stay the night with him, like this.

"alright."

maybe it was the alcohol in chanyeol's system, but he could swear that he saw someone (or something) standing at the foot of joonmyun's bed. he brushed it off though and went back to sleep, enjoying the way joonmyun fit in his arms.

the sound of a child screaming was the rudest awakening chanyeol had ever had. and it had him jumping out of the bed, trying to figure out what was going on, because those screams were coming from inside joonmyun's apartment.

after he pulled on his shirt, he made his way to where the sound was coming from. with each step, the screams got louder, and it was terrifying chanyeol. slowly, he opened the door, and was met with something he never thought he would see. there was joonmyun, trying to tend to two (not one) crying children.

while the one on the right, was screaming loudly, tears trailing down his face. the one on the left was sitting there, tears streaming down his face. and joonmyun was trying to comfort the children even more. when the one on the right caught sight of chanyeol, his cries became even louder. hey became less cries and more wailing.

"monster!" he called out, pointing to chanyeol. chanyeol couldn't help but feel offended by the crying child. he was not a monster. okay, maybe his hair was vey messy and maybe he did look scary from time to time, but he was no monster. as far as he knew, at least.

joonmyun's head turned to where the child on the right was pointing, and she he caught sight of chanyeol, he let out a sigh. it was the other's messy orangish hair that scared the two children. and he couldn't rally blame them. he figured that they must've caught sight of his hair sticking out of joonmyun's covers, and figured that the worst thing was in bed with him.

"no no, that's just…that's just daddy's friend." joonmyun tried to console the two children, while making a waving motion to get chanyeol back into the bedroom.

"sorry." joonmyun said as he opened the bedroom door, and saw a still confused channel sitting on the bed. "that's jongin and sehun…the kids i told you about."

right. joonmyun's 'kids'. except they weren't really joonmyun's kids. one was his sister's son, and the other was his cousin's son. he still called them his kids though, since he had been taking care of them since they were two and three. and with the way that he talked about them (bragged about them), they might as well have been his kids.

"it's fine. though…i'm not sure how i feel about being labeled monster." chanyeol laughed, running his fingers through his hair, pouting a bit as he looked at the other.

"i'm sure that they won't call you a monster once they get to know you." joomyun tried to comfort him, pressing his lips against his cheek softly.

it took twenty minutes of chanyeol spending time with the two kids to think that they hated him. the younger of the two, sehun, would tear up almost every time he and chanyeol's eyes met. the child was positively terrified of chanyeol, for whatever reason that would be. the other one, jongin, would just stare at him, for no reason. and then he would start tearing up too.

chanyeol never thought his feelings would be hurt this much by two children, yet he was positively crushed by the fact that the kids didn't like him. joonmyun could only give him a bit of an awkward smile. the entire morning was just awkward, and chanyeol had decided that he needed to get out of there as soon as possible.

"i've got to get to work…i've got an early shift at the grocery store." chanyeol said as he stood up from the kitchen island. he noticed that joonmyun's apartment was actually really nice, and he couldn't help but wonder how much the other made. though he knew better than to actually ask. his mother taught him that.

"i'll walk you to the door." joonmyun offered. patting the, now distracted, children on the head, he moved to walk chanyeol to the door. "i had a good time last night." joonmyun admitted as he watched chanyeol slip on his shoes. there was that feeling of being a teenager again. and joonmyun couldn't find it in himself to complain.

"i had a good time last night too." chanyeol smiled at the other before leaning down to press his lips against joonmyun's once more. the other tasted like sugary cereal and black coffee, and chanyeol would've been lying if he said that he didn't like it.

the kiss though, even though both of them wanted it to last, was interrupted by a loud wail breaking the two apart.

"the monster is trying to eat joonmyun!" it was sehun crying out. turning his head, chanyeol saw the two kids standing there, watching he and joonmyun, tears streaming down their eyes.

"you know, what? i'm going to leave." chanyeol said, patting joonmyun on the shoulder before slipping out of the apartment.
