LAY'S POV:

"Grandma can you pass the salt" I said to my grandma who is cooking beside me

"salt....................salt............salt..............." grandma looking for it

"Oh! here it is" she grab the salt at the table placed at our back where the other ingredients are

"Lay I'm really glad you can come here and cook for us again on your birthday"

"It's nothing halmeoni"

"I really glad I have a grandson like you" she said to me smiling "Not like your grandfather. All he do is take care of his garden"

"I heard that" the voice came from the back

We turned to see grandpa 

"Hmph! So what?" grandma gave her her back

"If it weren't for my garden you won't have anything to eat and if it weren't for me you won't have your favorite grandson here" grandpa argued 

"here................here..................here................ don't argue" I tried to stop them

They are always arguing but I always know that they love each other

"Ok" grandpa lets go of the arguement and changes  the topic "So Lay!"

I turned wile testing the soup I made

"Where's our granddaughter-in-law?"

I almost spilled it  "Oh! Taeyeon?" I said while putting down ladle 

"Right..............right...............Taeyeon! Where is she?"grandpa is really excited and is leaning forward the table 

"Ummmmmm.............she have a sched" I lied and continued stirring with a sad emotion inside 

"Well that can't be avoided since both of you are singers" granpa pretty convinced 

"Yeobeo  why don't you prepare the table so we can eat already" grandma said

"Okay" grandpa said lazily

"Be sure to wash your hands" grandma continued nagging 

"K..................K.................eomoni" grandpa said joking

I look at them with a smile on my face. They sure love each other.

"Ok we're all set" grandma said 

We took our seats and grandma led the prayer 

"---AMEN---"

"Ok let's eat" grandpa started munching at once 

"Lay Happy Birthday" grandma said who is seating beside me 

"Thank you grandma" I replied sweetly 

I took my first bite "Deli-............" the doorbell rang 

"Who could that be? I wasn't expecting any guests" grandma curiously asked

" I'll get it" I stood and went to the door

I opened the door thinking it's nothing but as I look who it is I just froze

AUTHOR'S POV

"Ho........w?W........hy?" It's Taeyeon! Lay couldn't speak properly

"Ummmmm.................." She wouldn't look at Lay but her eyes just wandered below ".............for you" Taeyeon handed him a box

Lay received the box looking confused "Thank you?"

"Lay who is it?" grandma's voice came from his back

"Grandma!" He was just shocked "This is ummmm................" He still can't talk properly but Taeyeon 

"Annyeonghaseyo halmeoni" immediately bowed "I'm Taeyeon, Lay's wife, your grandaughter-in-law" introduced herself

Lay can't believe she said that but was also happy 

"Aigoo so you're Taeyeon" grandma went over her  and is very happy to see her "You're so beautiful"

"Thank you halmeoni" Taeyeon shyly replied

"Join us for dinner. We're celebrating Lay's birthday"

Grandma lead the way for Taeyeon. The two went ahead leaving Lay behind but Taeyeon suddenly paused "Lay" 

Lay turned to her "What are you doing? Let's go"

"Araso" he said looking really happy

The two went together while grandma went ahead

While all this happened grandpa is still eating not caring what's happening 

"Yeobeo! Yeobeo! Yeobeo! Stop eating!" grandma excitedly approach him

"Wae! What happened?" 

At that time the couple have just arrived at the dining area 

"It's our granddaughter-in-law!" grandma said 

Grandpa stop eating and looked at Taeyeon "Is that really...............?"

Taeyeon just has her head down

"Aigoo you're so pretty!"

"Thank you harabeoji"

"Come let's eat" grandpa invited her 

"Lay go get another plate for Taeyeon and put the cake on the table" grandma ordered 

"Okay" he replied smiling

"Taeyeon sit here" grandma showed her seat

"Here" Lay said placing the plate in her place

"Thank you" she said looking at him

Everybody got back to their respective seats including Lay

"Lay what are you doing?" He look at his grandma confused "sit beside your wife" 

He look at her an she's also signaling him to sit beside her with her eyes

"A........ara...........so" Lay went beside Taeyeon

Grandma look really happy " So Taeyeon"

She look at grandma "We're really glad that you can celebrate Lay's birthday"

"Me too"

"Lay said you have a sched" grandpa said

She looked at Lay who is drinking his water suddenly faster  

"We finished early so I decide to go here"

"Is that so"

"Well we're glad you can join us"

They spent the dinner talking about each other especially Lay. Who has a quite many embarassing  moments in his life. Lay in turn begged both his grandpa and grandma to stop talking about it but they go on and on. Taeyeon just enjoyed the stories.

TAEYEON'S POV

Dinner's over

Me and granma is in charge of washing the dishes while Lay and granpa went to the garden.

"Taeyeon thank you for washing with me"

'It's nothing halmeoni"

"Ya---------------------ah Lay is really lucky to have you"

I look at the plate and whispered "I'm also lucky to have him, halmeoni"

"Taeyeon-ah" I look at halmeoni "Lay is really,really,really important person to me so pleas event though it's an arranged marriage" grandma looks serious "please love him and look after him"

"N.........ne halmeoni"

"Lay tend to overwork himself sometimes. I heard he's been hospitalized for how many days after your wedding day"

"Yes halmeoni"

"It's all because of that wedding and house plans. I mean he doesn't need to plan your wedding nor design your house since your parents could really hire someone who is professional and make it really beautiful but he just really insisted."

"What!?Halmeoni!"

"Wae Taeyeon? You don't know?"

"Ne halmeoni, This is the first time I heard this"

"Well that's just how that kid is. He just isn't open to everyone"

My mind was puzzled. Why would he do that?

I look at my necklace. Is this also..........................

"What are you talking about!?" grandpa scared us and made me snap out of my thoughts

"Yah! I'm going to have an heart attack because of you!" grandma shouted

"Sorry dear" grandpa cuddled her

"Yah! The kids are still here" grandma whispered to him

"So what! Let them stare." granpa continued cuddling her

Me and Lay laughed and I look at them with a bit of jealousy inside

AUTHOR'S POV

"Why don't you continue with what you are doing whilewe go home now" Lay suggested

"Omo! Is that the time?" grandma exclaimed

Grandma and grandpa sent us off to the door

"I'm going to get the car" Lay said to Taeyeon and went off

"take care Taeyeon" grandma said while holding her hand

"Be sure to come back" grandpa added

"I'll make sure of it harabeoji" she replied "Thank you for a wonderful evening"

"We also enjoyed it"

Then the sound of the horn was heard. Taeyeon turned to see Lay's car infront of the house.

"Goodnight halmeon, harabeoji. See you next time"

Taeyeon said her goodnights and went to the car

"Be sure to take care of each other" grandma wave her hand

Seeing grandma waving and beside her is a happy granpda the couple also waved back with a smile and off they went

Ofcourse in the car there is always the awkward silence that they can't break

"You must be tired" Lay broke the silence

Taeyeon didn't replied

"Sleep. I'll wake you up when we get there" He said smiling
