They walked the streets of the grey. The ash in the air had thinned considerably and not a single soul, once alive or created, could be found. All that could be heard was the echo of six pairs of shoes; Miah still being shoeless.
“Did it stop because of you?” Kris asked curiously. Heather shook her head, “No, but I think things are going to be different around here now. The order’s power is broken, Alessa’s nightmare is over.”
Miah nodded bitterly, “Another will come. This place, this grey, has always been; Silent Hill was just Alessa’s version.” Heather’s father nodded in agreement, “This is a place of lost souls.” He stopped and looked behind them.
“Is there something wrong?” Jae asked politely. He looked toward her then to his daughter. “I can’t leave,” he breathed. Heather stepped forward, “What? Why not?” He enveloped her hands gently into his. “I’m going to stay here.” The blonde shook her head in confusion, “But Dad, we’re safe. We’re finally free to live our lives.”
“I’m going to find your mother,” he reasoned, “You all saved my life, and I can never repay any of you for it, but your mother is still trapped here. I’m going to find her; I have to.” “Then let me help you!” Heather begged in a panic. She could already feel the loneliness of not having him around.
“No,” her father stated firmly, “I promised her that once you were safe I would come back for her. This is my task from here on. I want you to be free now, with your friends.” He nodded toward the others; giving a stressed look to Vincent who nodded his understandi
