“Yeah, we literally had to squeeze our brains out for the answers.” he sighs “At least it’s over now and maybe we can go celebrate today? How about that?” he turns to you and his eyes lit up

You gave him a small apologetic smile “I don’t feel like celebrating Yeol, sorry.” you apologized

“Oh…” his shoulders dropped “Well, I guess it’s okay then. Maybe we can go some other time…”

“No, you should just go without me.”

“I’ll wait until you feel like going.” he said with a little shrug of his shoulder

“I’m sorry.” you felt guilty

“For what? It’s no big deal.” he shrugs again

“No it is, I’m being such a party pooper right now.” you grunt

“Well wanna tell me what’s wrong then?”

“I don’t know…” you met his eyes which looked hopeful “I… I guess me and Kris sort of chose separate ways for now.” you shrug

“Well it’s not like that. It’s just that I said both of us should take a break until we can find time for each other again. Until we do, we’re… apart.”

“He stated his words and yeah… I just think it’s for the best.”

“How can I? Really.” you scoffed at yourself “It’s just hard, right now.”

It’s been around 3 days since Kris had left for Tokyo and it bothered you of how much you do miss him but then you remembered why you come up with such decisions anyway. Maybe people could tell you’re slightly out of place for these past few days though the only difference would be is that you don’t talk much; other than that, none.

You eat, you shower, you sleep, it wasn’t like you were starving yourself or having insomnia everytime you wanted to go to sleep despite of Kris being in your mind most of the times; wondering whether he is thinking of you just as much. Your thought break when you move your gaze away and a sarcastic scoff emitted from your lips; oh how pathetic you feel.

“Hyo Ri, do you wanna go lunch near the lake after?” Chan Yeol asks softly

You turn to him “What are we having?”

“There’s a famous hot dog stall near it, we can eat by the lake.” he beams

“Sure.” your lips hitched upwards into a small smile

You and Chan Yeol sat on the grass; facing the calm lake in view and the both of you ate in silent. You want to talk, you wanted to make silly conversations but your heart wasn’t allowing you to fake your happiness because you did it so many times that you had tired of it

“I don’t know anymore.” you mumbled

“You were the one who decided to end it right?”

“I’m not ending it, we’re just taking a break for a while.” though I’m not even sure how long
