Thunderstruck
I take the last sip of my Iced Coffee as I walked to the restroom. It was 8.30 p.m.
After doing my business, i washed my hands as I stared upon the mirror,
“It’s not like him to be like this... something must happen”
I paid my coffee and left the place as I restlessly waiting under the canopy of the café. I tried to call him for the countless times already, but still no answer from him. Soon after I felt some vibration in my bag as I pull out my phone. “Seungho” written on the phone screen,
“It’s him!”
Without wasting the time I answered the call,
“Where were you?!”
“Err… is this Sanghyun-ssi?”, another voice answered, it’s not Seungho.
“Yeah, and I’m talking with…?”, I asked cautiously.
“Byunghee. I managed to contact you using his phone and check the last dialed number”, said the voice at the other end.
Byunghee, I know him. Seungho’s neighbor, and he’s really kind towards Seungho and me, as he always help taking care of Seungho during hard times.
“aah, yes, Byunghee-ssi. Is something happened with Seungho?”, I walked to the parking lot to get my car
It was silent, no reply from the other end. Somehow I could hear faint ambulance siren from the other end, which started to scared me.
“Hello, is everything alright?”, I asked as I tried started to started my car engine. my hearts pounding faster
“His house was burned down, most likely by those bad people”, said Byunghee in panic.
I was petrified, still trying to get it in my mind.
“And… Seungho’s injured, badly. Better come quick!”
The next sentence were made me dropped my phone. I tried to get a grip as I drove my car to his house as fast as possible. Many frightening scenario crossed my mind, but I tried my best to focus. I don’t want to imagine what will happen next, so I just cope myself with faith.
