This can't go on.

Sulli was rushed into the emergency room immediately.

So Taemin waits.

Like he did when he was overseas, except that this was a more antagonizing wait.

The doctor finally emerges from the room.

He looks grim.

Taemin rushes up to the doctor.

“I’m sorry Mr Lee, the patient’s disease is already in its final stage.  Her current heart is failing.Unless, you find a donor, She might never live pass a month.”

Hearing the doctor’s prognosis makes him more worried.

“ Can’t I donate my heart? “ He asks desperately.

“ I doubt so, Mr Lee. Your blood type is B while Miss Choi’s blood type is AB negative. It is a extremely rare blood type. Even though differently blood types can be given to her in an emergency, when you change a heart of a different blood type to her, her body would deem it as a foreign object and it will reject the heart. Therefore, we must find someone with the same blood type as her but even if we find a compatible heart, the body might still reject it. ”

Taemin understands all of this.

After all, his mother died because of a heart rejection too.

He’s desperate for a new donor for Sulli. He goes around for the next week looking for donors, begging them.

But you do know, AB negative blood is extremely rare.

None of them can be a donor to Sulli.

His phone buzzes in his pockets.

He picks the phone up begging.

“Please no…”

“Taemin, please come to the hospital, NOW”

The doctor sounds urgent.

Taemin prepares himself for the worst.

“Taemin, her condition has worsened faster than we have thought. She might not live pass this week.”

Taemin stares at the doctor like he was talking in alien language.

“ What?”  His eyebrows go up by a few angle.

“ She needs a new donor, soon.”

He enters Sulli’s room hesitantly.

It’s the first time he’ll see her after the incident at Minho’s house.

He gives a sigh of relief when he sees that she’s sleeping peacefully.

At least, he won’t have to face her now.

He caresses her face gently.

“Sulli, I’m sorry, I was so foolish. I didn’t realize this all along.”

“It’s my fault, Taemin”

Taemin opens his closed eyes to find hers open.

“ I… knew about long ago, I didn’t tell you because I was afraid that you’ll be worried. “

“I know baby” He says,” I know now.”

He rakes his hands through her hair.

“Taemin, tell me, I’m not going to live for long now, am I?”

Taemin sighs.

“Yes”

Tear tracks appear, more and more prominently on her face.

He hugs her and so does she.

He thinks the reason she’s crying is because that she knows her end in coming but the reason behind her tears are more than that.

She cries because she knows, she’ll be leaving Taemin in this world. She cries because they have such little time together. She cries because it hurts her to know that Taemin is so heartbroken.

3 days pass.

Taemin stays at her bedside everyday, watching her.

Her condition has not improved by a bit.

“Taemin?” She says softly.

“Yes, baby?”

“ Taemin, I love you, you do know that right?”

“ yes I do, I love you too. So please, get better.”

Sulli chuckles softly.

“ Baby, I’m sorry, don’t let these tears blur the happiness of your memories, my love.”

Taemin looks at her, his eyebrows raised.

“My time has come Taemin.” She says peacefully,” Goodbye Taemin.”

A lone tear rolls down her cheeks and she closes her eyes.

The monitor beside her goes flatline.
