“Kyungsoo…” Jongin’s soft voice cut his trail of thoughts.

The other looked up, his big eyes shining as tears started to pool in them.

He loved Jongin’s voice; he was going to miss it.

He already missed it.

“What happened to you? Why is your face like that?” Jongin asked again with a worried tone.

And Kyungsoo looked down embarrassed.

Even when the other was the one hitting him, he always tried to cover the bruises as soon as he returned home.

He always wanted to believe that covering them would erase the trace of the beating because Jongin would never mention anything about it after seeing him with make up over the bruises.

“Who did that to you?...Answer me, Kyungsoo.” Jongin said with an annoyed tone as Kyungsoo remained silent.

“Don’t you remember?” Kyungsoo said softly after moving his hand away from Jongin’s as the other tried to hold it.

“No….Remember what?” Jongin said intrigued.

Liar.

That was Kyungsoo’s mind kept saying.

How could he forget that?

How could he forget how much he had hurt him?

The silence had started to take over them, when the room’s door opened revealing the same doctor Kyungsoo had spoken to.

“Kyungsoo-ssi, the nurse told me you came here and I was wondering if you knew Kim Jongin-ssi’s guardian contact information.”

The doctor said politely, but Kyungsoo’s answer was cut by Jongin’s voice.

“I only have Kyungsoo…no one else but him.”

Years ago Kyungsoo would have smiled at that statement.

He would have hugged and kissed Jongin.

But now it felt like a burden.

It was the truth, but it felt so heavy in his chest.

And yet, Jongin’s caring gaze on him made his heart flutter.

“Ok then…Kyungsoo-ssi, could you then come with me to fill some documents?”

Kyungsoo nodded.

If there was something to know about Jongin, he knew it.

But as the doctor started pushing his wheelchair to the door, Jongin’s voice stopped him.

“You will come back, right?”

He said softly, his gaze only focused on Kyungsoo.

But the latter only looked to the floor.

The doctor didn’t know what to do, but as the silence remained, he started pushing the wheelchair again.

“Promise me!”

Jongin’s voice startled the two males in front of him and this time Kyungsoo nodded softly in order to keep the peace in the room.

Jongin’s mind may not remember, but his body did, right?

He will hit him again, right?

He will be hurt once again.

That is why as he finished filling the documents he was surer than ever that he would only see Jongin one more time to say goodbye.

He would spend the day with him in the hospital.

He would help to feed him.

He would answer some questions about Jongin’s lost memories.

Maybe give him a goodbye hug.

And that would be it.

He would be long gone when the morning arrived.

“Let me love you just for one more day…”

But as morning arrived, his lips couldn’t stop kissing Jongin’s.

The other pressed him against his chest with his arms around Kyungsoo’s waist as they kept kissing.

Yesterday had been magical.

Jongin had been nice to him.

He had smiled at him.

And as soon as Kyungsoo looked back at him, he returned the smile.

Always falling for his charms.

And as more happy memories left his lips, he was enchanted again.

Jongin seemed happy to be with him.

Even when he couldn’t remember all the episodes Kyungsoo was talking about he seemed genuinely interested.

But was that real?

Was it ok for Kyungsoo to hide the sad episodes too?

Was it ok for him to keep hiding the truth behind his bruises and pain?

Was it too much to ask when the opportunity was there to restart his life?

If Jongin couldn’t remember, would he be able to forget too?

He had already planned to leave, but was it bad if he wanted to stay?

Is not like he hadn’t said the same words before.

“Let me love you just for one more day…
