Chapter 20
“Yeah… Sure Dara won’t show it to Bom!” I walked away to hide away in my room. I sat on my bed to think.
“I’m sorry…” Minji said quietly and hung her head.
“It’s not your fault…” I sighed “Everyone dies eventually” I mumbled. Minzy just stood with her head down. Great now I’ve upset Minzy… Since when did I act like this? Dating in America was just like this… Girls with their over protective fathers… What’s the difference between them and Minzy? Minzy isn’t a … Minzy has a killer for a guardian… That guardian will kill me… That guardian is a woman… I’m screwed… I sighed and got up. I walked over to Minzy and wrapped my arms around her.
“I told you it’s not your fault… I shouldn’t have left that key under the pot. I wondered how she always got in” I laughed to myself which caused Minzy to smile a bit. I pushed her away softly
“Now go get ready. I don’t want to make her any angrier than she is now.” I turned away from her and walked into my close. “Now what should I wear to my funeral?” I mumbled so Minzy wouldn’t hear me. I finished getting ready and found that Minji had sent Sulli home.
“Good I’m upset with her” I said before grabbing a water from the fridge. I felt arms wrap around me. I jumped a bit and Minji giggled. She leaned her head on my back. The fire burned through me again. I could feel the blush on my face grow dark red.
“It’ll be okay” she whispered and I smiled. I put my hand on hers and unwrapped her from me.
“Come on we should go” I smiled at her. The car ride was silent for most of the ride.
“Why didn’t we go on your bike? I thought you liked that thing?” Minji suddenly asks
“I thought a car would be a better impression on- wait thing? My bike isn’t a thing! My bike is a beautiful work of art!” I said which made her laugh
“So I guess you named it.”
“Matter of fact I did! My bike isn’t ‘it’” I childishly said
“So the name is like Amber jr. Or something?” she continued to make fun of me
“No the bike’s name is ‘My Bike’” I said
“What? That’s it!?” she looked at me
“Yeah why?”
“I was expecting something good!”
“It is good! I don’t call the bike anything else…” I told her
“Wow. That’s… I don’t even know what to say about that” she laughed
“Hey girlfriends are supposed to support!” I whined and she just laughed. We pulled up to her place and we were silent again. I got out and opened her door and she got out.
“Ah you managed to leave my hand un injured.” I laughed at her and grabbed her hand. I took a deep breath and walked to the door. Minji opened it and walked inside dragging me along.
“Umma! I’m home!” Minji yelled
“Good” Bom said coming from the kitchen
“Umma let us explain-“ Minji began
“Quiet Minji” Bom stopped Minji. Bom looked down at our intertwined hands and I tightened my grip. Maybe she won’t kill me if I hold on to Minji?
“Please tell me you two were safe?” Bom said rubbing her forehead
“What?” Minji asked and my eyes widened
“We didn’t do anything!” I hurried to tell Bom
“Then what’s with this picture!?” she yelled at me and I flinched but I straightened up
“It’s just a kiss!” I defended strongly
“The hell it was! She’s wearing your shirt! Because it’s defiantly not hers!” Bom yelled at me again
“I stole it from Amber’s closet” Minji squeaked and the room went silent
“I don’t appreciate lying Minji. You know that” Bom told her
“She isn’t lying. Would you like to go check my house?” I defended Minji. Bom was silent for a while
“You two really didn’t do anything?” Bom angled her eyes at me
“No ma’am” I told her
“One question why did Sulli send this? Don’t you tell me there’s a tape too” Bom asked. I blushed and jumped to cover Minji’s ears
“No there isn’t! Sulli likes to sneak in my house and take pictures… Wait that makes her sound like a stalker… Sulli’s… Sulli…” I said letting go of Minji’s ears
“Yah! I’m not a kid!” Minji swatted at me and I backed away from her and laughed but quit when I remembered Bom
“I promise we didn’t do anything” I told Bom
“Good. Well you two are grounded” she told us
“Grounded” we both asked
“Yes. For a month. No dating without supervision. And you aren’t allowed at Amber’s house during this time also”
“What!?” we both yelled
“You guys need punishment for the crap you’re putting the manager through. He’s running around contacting all who were sent the picture.”
“The manager has seen it!?!” I asked
“Yes. He was notified right away he has to make sure they keep it away from the news.” She told me and I was silent
“So now you two are only allowed together with one of us around.”
“One of you?” I asked
“Yes?”
“What if you guys busy?”
“Well I guess you two can’t go out can you?” she asked me. She walked up to me and stared me down
“And if you don’t follow these rules I’ll make sure you really are a girl” she smiled evil at me. Which made me shiver. I stepped away and covered my front.
“Umma! You know!?” Minji’s jaw was open
“Of course I know! I have to know who my daughter is dating! Now who wants breakfast? The others are out.” Bom walked into the kitchen
“Oooh! Me!” Minji ran after her. I stayed in my place guarding myself until Minji came out and got me
“Come on she’s just kidding” Minji laughed “I hope” she mumbled
“WHAT!?” I yelled pulling away
“Nothing!” She laughed and continued to pull me away
