Chapter 5: Teen Top

Yeongji walked around the set with her notebook on hand, she was checking and making sure that everything’s in order. She can’t afford to have any mistakes today, it’s the first photo-shoot for her clothing line and she wants it to be perfect.
Of course, she had to wake up at like 3 am today not only because she had to be at the set but she also had to look nice today. A team will be covering the whole shoot, video and all, and someone will becoming over to do a quick interview with her.
She had put on her favorite washed denim shorts and her sleeveless peach satin top, coupled with a pair of wedge. She let her long light brown hair down, she didn’t want to look too over-dressed so she went for a more casual summer attire.
“Ms. Park, the whole set is ready, we’re just waiting for Teen Top to arrive and we can start” the head photographer informed her and she thanked him.
She double-checked all the clothes and shoes that they were going to use and made sure all the make-up is laid out in the dressing room.
“Do you need anything else for the make-up, you’re all set?” she asked the head stylist-in-charge and the girl answered with a “Everything’s ready”
Finally, Teen Top arrived shortly after. Their manager was the first to greet her.
“Yeongji-sshi, annyeong!” Chunji who already met her yesterday greeted her in a hyper tone. She couldn’t help but smile in amusement as the boy never seemed to lose energy.
Niel who was seeing her for the first time was immediately captivated by her smile. He couldn’t help but stare at her more.
The manager then introduced the rest of the members to her, “This is CAP, Teen Top’s leader, then this is Ricky, Changjo our maknae, and Niel” everyone then bowed and greeted her.
“Annyeonghaseyo!” she greeted in return, “I hope we’ll have a fun time working together” she added with a smile.
Ricky watched her quietly, there was this itching feeling that he had already seen her somewhere but he can’t remember.
“L.joe will be running a bit late, sorry about that” their manager hyung informed her and she replied with a “Kwenchanha” but she was thinking to herself, ‘Of all days, what is wrong with that guy?’
Yeongji then instructed for the members to head over to the dressing room and have their make-up done as well as to put on the clothes they were going to wear.
Her phone suddenly rings and she excuses herself from everyone.
“Oppa!” she spoke through the phone, happy to hear his voice.
“How’s everything going, still doing okay there?” Joongki asked on the other line and she nodded, “Yeah, it’s kind of stressful but I can manage” she assured him.
“Is he there already?” he asked, the more pressing matter at hand and she knew perfectly well whom he meant.
“He’s not yet here, their manager said he’ll be late for a bit” and with this he made a ‘tsk’ sound of disapproval.
“Eyy, it’s the first day and he’s already behaving like that” he muttered and she just laughed it off, “Kwenchanha, I won’t let myself get worried with useless things”
“Would you like me to come over there?” he suddenly offered, he really wanted to be beside her right now. He didn’t want that boy to be going anywhere near her.
“I’m alright, don’t worry oppa” she assured him once more.
“Arasseo, I’ll see you later then” he bid her goodbye, “Alright, see you” and she ends the call.
She heads towards the dressing room to check up on them. She sees Niel still sitting on the couch while the others were already having their make-up done. She then realized that she had asked Soo and Jeni to get the other accessories they had forgotten to pack.
She made a mental note to start on him after she checks the others. She headed to teaching CAP’s stylist on how to do his hair with the iron and the girl nods in understanding.
“Unni, we should do Chunji’s eyebrows, it has to match his blonde hair” she talked to the other stylist who was working on him.
The other two seemed to be doing fine so she finally approached Niel who was already looking at her. “Niel right?” she asked with a smile, “Yes?” he asked and she replied, “Let’s start with your make-up so that everyone can begin the photo-shoot together soon”
He moved to one of the chairs facing the wall made entirely with mirror and lined with a long vanity table with all the make-up and equipment.
Yeongji started with the foundation, all the while Niel was watching her with both eyes. She was feeling a bit self-conscious as she felt his gaze on her. “Chunji hyung said you’re just 21?” he started and she nodded, “Yeah”
“We’re friends then” he said with a big smile and she stops in mild surprise, “Ahh, Mian, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything” he added immediately.
She smiles at how dorky he acted, it’s cute though, “It’s okay, we can friends” she offered shyly and his eyes widened with happiness, “Cheongmal?”
He sighs, “That’s a relief” and continues on, “I always wanted a girl friend… I mean, a friend that’s a girl” he corrected himself.
“Sorry about that, I don’t have a lot of friends my age that are girls” he confessed, “I mostly have noonas” he grinned sheepishly.
“Oh, we’re the same then, I don’t have a lot friends that are boys my age” she told him honestly. Somehow, she found it so easy to talk to him, for some unknown reason. He gave off that friendly feeling, someone you could talk to about anything and you could go on for hours without getting bored, like Joongki.
“There, all done!” she said smiling with a satisfactory tone. “I have the outfit you’ll be wearing for the shoot” she told him as she went over the rack and got the one that’s labeled with his name.
She had made an effort to do a bit research on them over the couple of days before the shoot so that she could see which outfits best suit each member.
“Wow, this really looks good” he complemented, “You made all these?” he asked as he looked at her in awe.
She smiled in embarrassment, then nodded, “Ne”
“You can go ahead and change, I’ll be back in a couple of minutes” she told him, with this she left to go check on the other things.
She smiled inwardly as she walked out the room, not really sure why but she felt light-hearted after just talking to him for a couple of minutes.
Without looking, too preoccupied with her thought, she bumps into someone but the person catches her quickly. “I’m so sorry!” she apologises for being clumsy and as she looks up she sees none other than Byunghun himself.
He was holding her arms at the moment, making sure she had a steady stance. She moves away from his grasp in an instant and bows. He had that perfect smile he always has, “Are you alright?” he asks, taking a closer look at her.
“I’m fine” she says hurriedly, her voice showed panic. Byunghun takes this as a positive thing, thinking she’s acting jittery because of his presence. That he actually makes her nervous.
She tries hard to compose herself, ‘Get a grip woman!’ she screams inwardly to herself.
“Umm… the others are already in the dressing room” she pointed to the room at the other end and after that she leaves him there taking big, long strides. The sooner she gets out of sight, the better.

The photo-shoot finally began and the team who was doing a coverage of the shoot had their cameras rolling to capture everything.
After the group shoot, they moved to the individual shots. Teen Top was very easy to work with and by the end of the day, they finally finished.
“Thank you for today, everyone did a great job!” Yeongji cheered everyone on the set and they all clapped their hands.
People then started packing and Teen Top went on ahead to change back to their own clothes.
Yeongji placed back the clothes on the rack. She smiled to herself, today’s shoot had been successful and she felt accomplished.
“You look really happy” a voice commented, she turned to her side to see Niel picking up pieces of clothing and helping her with the task she had been doing.
“Komawo, you guys looked so wonderful in the shoot” she complimented, Niel scratched the back of his head as a grin graced his lips, “Thanks” he said.
“So…” he started, his eyes looking elsewhere. “If you don’t mind, can I ask for your number?” he asked with a big expectant smile. Yeongji blinked a couple of times, “My number?” she repeated and Niel nodded.
“Umm… sure” she replied. Niel took out his phone and handed it to her. Yeongji pulled her own phone out of her pocket and in turn, gave it to him. He gave her a confused look and she smiled brightly, “It’s not fair if I don’t get your number in return” as she joked around.
Niel chuckled and took her phone. They exchanged numbers happily. “There!” she announced then handed him back his phone and he did the same.
All the while, the two were oblivious to the pair of eyes that was watching them from afar. Byunghun have seen their little interaction and he isn’t all too happy about it.
