FOUR – “Shock!”

[NORMAL P.O.V]

On the next day at TTS’s dorm…
 
The ginger-haired singer could barely sleep at night. Actually, her mind replayed the moment with the not-so-mysterious blonde over and over again. She couldn’t help but feel her heart beating so fast and loud. Only with one touch, he was able to make her feel things that she never felt before, well, not something so strong as now. In addition, another thing that attracted her blindly to him was his cold aura.
 
Wow, those eyes…
 
She blurted out to no one in particular as she remembered that pair of hazel and adorable eyes. Tiffany stared the ceiling, lost in time as a stubborn smile played on her lips. Last night, after her conversation with Taeyeon, it made her realize something. Her blonde comrade was right; she was being too spoiled for her own good, like a child without limits. She knew that deep inside her heart, she was grateful for Jesse’s scolding and his revelation of the cold truth.
 
No, she isn’t a masochist, and she doesn’t like people yelling at her; but Jesse reminded her of something that she had missed for sometime… her true essence. So, beside her comrades, he was the first person to tell her the truth and to be sincere about it while exposing her mistakes. He wasn’t like the other people who just wanted to spoil and flatter her since she was the “K-Pop princess”. Yes, that Jesse has already proved that he is different, yet mysterious. Now, she couldn’t help but feel more and more attracted by his personality and so wanted anxiously to get to know him deeply.
 
Knock, knock, knock.
 
Tiffany quickly snapped out from her reverie. She hurriedly sat on her bed as she spoke out softly: “Come in!”
 
The door opened, revealing a familiar manager. The tanned woman closed the door and took a seat closer to the ginger haired girl. With a grin, she greeted her:
 
“Good morning, Fany-ah. Are you okay?”
 
“Good morning, unnie. I’ve never being better, actually…” Tiffany quickly replied with a smile on her face. Yuri frowned in confusion, but let this one pass. After a sigh, she asked nonchalantly while playing with her phone:
 
“I received your message this morning… So, what do you want to talk about anyway?”
 
“Oh, right! I called you today because… I was thinking about the… incident… last night…”
 
“HA I KNEW IT! I was anxious for your answer, Fany! So… what are we going to do? Pulverize them? Actually I was thinking of many ways to torture them! It’s all that Choi’s fault! Tsk, how can he be so reckless… and still be charming for God’s sake! If only I –“
 
“Yuri!” “Huh? What?!”
 
The distracted manager snapped from her train of thought as Tiffany called her name loudly. Once Yuri was back on ‘Earth’, the singer chuckled at her manager’s strange behavior and motioned her to sit again. The latter was really confused to see Tiffany in good humor after the previous ‘incident’. Raising her eyebrows, she asked curiously:
 

“So…?”
 
“Ahem… unnie… I want you to arrange a meeting with SJY and their manager tomorrow. I think there are a few things that we need to discuss…”
 
“Okay… but do you mind if I ask you something?” “Nope.”
 
Tiffany added with a smirk while shaking her head. Getting her manager more intrigued, the latter eyed her carefully and asked:
 
“What do you really intend… with SJY?”
 
Suddenly a cheeky smile crept onto Tiffany’s face as she raised her head and asked nonchalantly:
 
“Hey, unnie… do you have any answer from the ‘We got Married’ directors?”
 
Momentarily, the manager reached for her iphone and looked through a few messages. With a smirk, she added with a confident tone:
 
“Oh right! I talked with them this morning and they told me that they really want you on this next season… but since they know about your exigencies, they weren’t sure if the celebrity who would play your ‘husband’ could be Wooyoung, Siwon or Nichkhun. That’s why they decided to let you decide. But, why do you ask?”
 
Inevitably, a wide smile was plastered on her face as her eyes glowed with both excitement and anxiety. Barely hiding her happiness, she added with her loud voice and eye-smile:
 
“Yureehh… I think I’ve already found someone to… be my hubby on ‘We got Married’”
 
Genuinely surprised, Yuri raised her brows and asked: “Really, who?”
 
Yet, the only answer that she got was Tiffany’s blush and fan girl’s giggle…
 
Oh God… this doesn’t sound good… Yuri remarked within her mind in suspicion and an eyebrow raised…

[JESSE P.O.V]

Bzrrrrr bzrrrrr…
 
“Argh… who could it be at this hour of the morning…”
 
I grunted in displeasure as my phone kept ringing in my head. Lazily, I grabbed the object and placed it on my ear:
 
“JESSE JUNG!”
 
“YA! Why are you yelling at me?! It’s freaking 8 am, man!”
 
I growled after my ‘manager’ barked into my left ear. All of sudden, a sarcastic laugher filled the air as he spoke more softly:
 
“Oh, my bad… did I wake up the sleeping beauty?”
 
“Well, yeah! Its Sunday and my day-off, hyung! I want to get some sleep!”
 
Yet, I gulped deeply and became more ‘awake’ when I heard a heavy breath… Oh no, this is not good. After a brief silence, my eardrum almost exploded with the shikshin’s booming voice:
 
“JESSE JUNG! YOU BETTER GET YOUR ROYAL OUT OF YOUR BED AND COME HERE ASAP!”
 
Astounded by his yelling, I shook my head and sat on my bed, trying to understand his nervousness. It was then I asked carefully:
 
“Calm down, hyung. What is all this commotion? I don’t know why you are so mad.”
 
“HA, you don’t know? Ok, let me refresh your memory. Last Friday, if I remember correctly, you created a big ruckus in the backstage! And hmm… oh yeah… YOU SCOLDED THE K-POP PRINCESS OF TTS, TIFFANY HWANG, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!”
 
“Oh… that…” I replied weakly, remembering all the happenings. So he added angrily:
 
“Yes, that, my blonde friend. So if you want to save your career from a tragic end, you better be at my office in one hour! We will have a meeting with TTS! I already warned Sunny and Yoong too. Be ready!”
 
My eyes widened and my mouth dropped in shock. Oh my God, TTS?! Hurriedly, I snapped from my trance, speaking loudly:
 
“Wait, hyung! Hyung? Hyung! Aish, damn it!”
 
The line was mute since he had already hung up. Oh man, I wonder what will happen… Cr@p... I guess I messed up everything. I placed my hands in my hair and muffled a scream:
 
“Arghhhhhh…”

Aish, why am I feeling so nervous? Tsk, she will be here any minute, big deal…
 
“Jesse… are you okay?”
 
I snapped from my thoughts when Sunny looked at me carefully. Trying to look normal, I shrugged and replied ‘nonchalantly’:
 
“Of course… why do you ask?”
 
She shrugged her shoulders too and answered absentmindedly:
 
“I don’t know, maybe because you are bouncing your right leg for…like…10 minutes already?”
 
“Or because you can’t stop fidgeting your fingers, hyung… I guess someone is nervous to see Tiffany-noona again, right noona? Hahahahahaaha”

“Yeah! Hahahahaha!”
 
“Ha-ha, very funny you two…”
 
I added dryly as my kid-companions couldn’t stop laughing at my current martyred situation. A sigh escaped from my lips as I stared at the window beside us. My mind was in a big whirl; honestly, I didn’t know what to think. Part of me was afraid of our destiny, maybe I messed everything with my big mouth and acerbic tongue. Arghh, I should have kept quiet, but, don’t blame me, it’s her fault for being such a spoiled girl. Yet, at the same time, how can she be so beautiful? If I wasn’t so mad, I would… never mind… This isn’t my business anyway.
 
“I’m sorry for making you wait.”
 
The voice startled me. When I looked towards the front, there was Yuri-noona along with TTS. Oh God, where is my faith?  I am freaking nervous here! To top it all off, there is the culprit! … Tiffany… Why is she staring at me? Maybe she is thinking about ripping my head off or smashing me to bits since I defied her ‘royalty’ on our debut. Of course, I am not proud of what I have done, I wouldn’t treat a lady in that way, but still, she needed a lesson… I can’t lose my focus, plus, I can’t destroy my friends’ dreams, they’re counting on me…
 
“That’s all right; I am used to it… Kwon…”
 
I almost cracked up when I saw Soo hyung smirking sarcastically at Yuri noona. She could only glare at him and clear , speaking with a casual tone:
 
“Shall we start?”
 
After her question, all of us nodded as we each took a seat around a long mahogany business table. TTS were seated across from us and I could see my comrades are really excited to see their platonic love again. Taeyeon was giving his usual byun smirk to Sunny who was totally flustered while Yoong stared at SeoHyun longingly. His awestruck semblance remained motionless as he admired her, I could swear that I saw a twinkle in his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the maknae smiling coyly at him and dipping her head down.
 
Once the brief silence ceased, Yuri noona removed her glasses and spoke seriously:
 
“Well, I guess all of us know the reason for this meeting. Due the incident on the last Friday, we have arrived to a conclusion. If this depended solely on me, I would you give you a lesson you won’t soon forget, Mr. Jesse… but my client, Ms. Tiffany Hwang has an alternative proposal. That’s why we are here, to discuss this.”
 
The quartet noted the sudden tension in the air as they nodded to each other, already standing up. Taeyeon turned to Tiffany and spoke softly:
 
“Hey Ppani, we are going to wait for you in the next room okay?”
 
“Yeah, Jesse. I think it is best you guys talk by yourselves.” Sunny said.
 
I couldn’t help but nod in understanding to my comrades. It was then I saw Yoong turning to Taeyeon and Seohyun as he spoke warmly:
 
“Do you want to accompany us?”

The “T” and “S” looked at themselves and nodded with a smile as the maknae answered gently:
 
“Sure.”
 
I kept my laughter within my mind when Taeyeon motioned to Sunny go first like a gentleman. Like if I didn’t saw him staring at her rear with a dorky grin, man, this guy is priceless hahaha. Yeah, I guess I can give him some points; if he makes my friend happy, then I’ll be happy too. Once they left, there were just us four in the meeting room. Tiffany was seated across from me and staring at me intently. Although I tried to look away, whenever I looked forward and our stares would meet, I could feel my face burning. Ah cr@p, I am blushing… and if I am not crazy, I would swear that I saw some tint of pink in her cheeks too. Nope… I guess I am crazy…
 
“So… what you are proposing, Kwon? We are listening.”
 
Soo hyung can be really direct sometimes. He leaned on the table slightly and waited for an answer. It was then she turned to her side and spoke slowly. I could tell that she was kinda uncomfortable, and no kidding, I can’t help but feel worried too. Yuri noona then turned her attention to me and answered slowly:
 
“My client is feeling very kind today. So, she has decided to forget the whole ‘situation’ with only one request…”
 
“And what would it be…?”
 
I asked with a loud gulp as both of them were staring at me intently. So, Yuri smirked and waved dismissively while giving the explanation:
 
“As do you know, Ms Tiffany here is one of the most esteemed artists in the whole of South Korea. As such, she is very highly sort after for various variety shows. Have you ever heard about a TV show called ‘We got married’?”
 
Confused, I raised my eyebrows and replied doubtfully, not understanding where this was taking me:
 
“Well, yes… it’s a reality show where famous artists are chosen to be a couple for a period of time… but I don’t still understand what this has to do with me?”
 
However, the two girls looked at themselves and then, back at me with a growing smile on their lips. Starting to feel really worried, I frowned in confusion. It was then Tiffany turned to me and left me stunned with her words:
 
“I want you as my husband… on ‘We got Married’”
 
“WHAT?!”

“?!”
 

All of sudden, Tiffany’s phone buzzed in her pocket and she widened her eyes to see the caller {ID: Woo-oppa}. Should she answer or decline the call? She was expecting his call since yesterday, but now wasn’t the appropriated hour. She couldn’t lose this chance with Jessie. Nibbling her lip in nervousness, she took a deep breath and pressed the “Decline” button to not answer the call. She can tame her oppa later… Back to her manager, Tiffany motioned with her eyes to Yuri.

Before the ginger haired girl could repeat the sentence; she glanced at her manager slightly and gave her the sign. Yuri rolled her eyes playfully and shook her head while standing up. She then spoke with a nonchalant tone:
 
“Well, it seems that my client has a proposal to deal with yours. I guess they will be able to handle this by themselves. Let’s go… Sooyoung…”
 
The taller manager pondered her words for a second, yet he had to hide a broad grin on his lips when Yuri called him “Sooyoung”. Oh, how his name was so beautifully uttered by those damn teasing lips, Soo thinks. However, he needed to be composed; so he nodded with a serious aura as he also stood up. Adjusting his jacket and tie, he waited for Yuri to reach the door and he couldn’t help opening it for her like a true gentleman. This time, she grinned a little and spoke softly to him for the first time ever since their re-encounter:
 
“Thank you…”
 
“Wait, hyung-!”
 
Soo quickly turned around once he heard Jesse’s ‘desperate tone’. The manager had to keep up his serious aura as he glared the blonde boy and mouthed to him:
 
“Apologize to her!”
 
“But-“ Jesse widened his eyes in ‘fear’ to his manager when he saw the ginger-haired singer approaching  him. So, Sooyoung broke to a wide smile and mouthed back while shrugging his shoulders:
 
“It’s all up to you now. Good luck!”

“Wha-?!”
 
Before Jesse could reply, he was dumbfounded at the scene of his manager practically gawking at the beautiful TTS manager, who was swaying her hips seductively as she left the room. With that, the door was abruptly shut and locked, just to make sure. Deeply worried, Jesse stared at the door in anxiety as he tried to call them:
 
“Hy-Hyung… Hi! Woah! Err… I mean, hello… Mi-Miss Ti-Tiffany!”
 
Jesse almost had a heart attack when he saw the beautiful ginger-haired girl just a few meters away from him, staring at him intently. A loud groan was emitted by his throat when he eyed the girl who was looking at him incessantly. All of sudden, his manager’s words replayed in his head like a broken record:
 
“You better prepare a good apology speech… You should think before you act, Jung! … Apologize to her!”
 
Snapping back to reality, Jesse looked back to the ginger-haired girl and felt his hands sweating, no, scratch that, his whole body was drenched in sweat, maybe because of his nervousness. He curled his hands into fists and took a breath, thinking, when he saw her closing the gap between them slowly:
 
“Aish, maybe hyung is right, I should think before act. Plus, we are together… and alone in this room for God’s sake… I think she arranged this meeting just to beat me up! Of course, I guess no one lives after awakening the princess’s wrath…Arghh… I guess I will have to apologize… for the sake of my friends and our career… Well, here I go…”
 
Trying to boost his last sign of courage, Jesse breathed hard and spoke respectfully while dipping his head down:
 
“I – I’m r-really sorry for the-the previous in-incident, Ti-Tiffany-shi.”
 
Damn it! He thought once he realized that he couldn’t stop stammering. His nervousness only got worse and he didn’t dare to look up as his words left his mouth clumsily:
 
“S-sorry, it-ts just I don’t th-think before I speak. T-this won’t happen again! B-but p-please, I am really so--!!!”
 
Then, the unthinkable happened… Jesse shut his mouth in a flash and widened his eyes to the max when he felt something warm and rather moist on the left side of his neck. Everything was a blur as he tried to digest what was happening. Before his brain could even get the idea, his body was already giving the extreme signs. His sweating palms only got worse; his long “dead” heart was pounding like crazy; his face was in flames and shivers ran from his toes to his head. He even shuddered at the moment; the worst part was that his inner beast was trying to be unleashed…
 
However, when everything clicked, Jesse gasped in shock. The culprit was no less than the ginger-haired singer who was planting a deep, hot and slow kiss on his neck. The shocked ‘boy’ could only blink a few times trying to understand if his mind was playing tricks or if this was reality. Although this bold move messed with his composure completely, he knew that this couldn’t continue, for if someone sees this, both of them would be in major trouble. Yet, when he took a REALLY deep breath to push himself away, the girl surprised him as she pulled herself from his neck with a wide and cheeky smile plastered on her face; uttering sincerely and teasingly:
 
“You are so cute *chuckles*… and smell so nice…”
 
“W-WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!”
 
Finally finding his voice, Jesse blurted with his face redder then a ripe tomato. He wanted to look mad, but he couldn’t since he was actually more surprised than angry. Tiffany couldn’t help but giggle at his embarrassment and this made Jesse look even cuter. Due his cracking voice, the ginger-haired singer could tell that he enjoyed her ‘move’. To keep her ‘cool’, she simply shrugged her shoulders and explained honestly:
 
“It’s my way to say ‘thank you.’” “W-what?!”
 
He asked in a less ‘nervous’ tone, so Tiffany sighed and looked at the window with a distant gaze as she spoke truthfully, sitting onto a comfortable couch:
 
“Actually, I am deeply grateful for your words on… that night… You are the first person to be honest with me after Tae and Hyunnie. Most of the people or rather the boys in particular, are trying to spoil or flatter me… but you… you were honest at the very first moment… So, that means that you care a lot about me, right?”
 
“Wait, Tiffany-shi.” “Call me Tiffany.” She cut him off with her husky tone of voice while staring at him deeply. Her eyes even shone whenever she looked at him. Seeing this, he shook his head and tried to look calm to clear out everything:
 
“Okay…. Tiffany… I think there must be a misunderstanding here…”
 
Once he uttered those words, the beautiful singer known to be very spoiled and snobbish with anyone beside her friends was… pouting to him?! No way, this must be a dream, Jesse thinks. He almost fell for her fragile demeanor as she stood up slowly and spoke very softly:
 
“Don’t you like… me? Am- am I that… horrible to you?”
 
Oh no, this is not good. He almost melted with her gentle voice and unprotected semblance. Trying to look serious, he breathed heavily and answered sincerely:
 
“Of co-course not… Tiffany…”
 
“HA! SO YOU DO LIKE ME?!”
 
“Wait a second, I – I –“ “Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~!!”
 
Her tone magically turned from a melancholy one to an excited one as she gave her killer eye-smile and predatory grin, practically jumping on the poor Jesse with an engulfing hug. Before he could even react, the girl already had her arms firmly wrapped around his rigid shoulder blades. She felt so right doing this, her body practically moved on its own. As for Jesse, well, let’s just say that he couldn’t deny that it feels different, frightening, yet right too. Still, he couldn’t give in, this girl was a major heartbreaker and he won’t be another one for her list.
 
Before he could withdraw, Tiffany pulled away and looked deeply into his hazel eyes and felt her heart racing madly. Everything Jesse felt at the moment she kissed his neck earlier, it backfired 10 times worse on her, which was awesome since she never felt something like that for a long time, or not as strong as now. They stared at the other’s eyes and their breath got ragged. It was undeniable, the warm glow hovering in both eyes, like something had ‘clicked’. All of sudden, she rested her hand on his heart and smiled coyly for the first time when she felt his erratic heartbeat against her touch.
 
Again, she looked up to him and spoke, shyly dipping her head down and letting a beautiful crimson color consume her cheeks:
 
“It’s settled then… we will get married! I am so happy!”
 
“Ti-Tiffan-“
 
She shushed his lips gently with her index finger and smirked tenderly at him, speaking warmly again:
 
“I will be looking forward… to seeing you again…”
 
Then, Jesse was agape once more when the ginger-haired singer leaned in and kissed his right cheek very caringly, pouring out her honest feeling. All the emotions rushed into his body again as he felt himself burning. Jesse almost closed his eyes to enjoy the moment, yet he quickly opened his eyelids, not giving in. After an eternity, Tiffany withdraws from the kiss and smiled at him again. After exchanging a deep stare, the ginger-haired singer got her purse and knocked the door as a sign that she was ready. Afterwards, her manager opened the door with a suspicious expression, clearly surprised to see a tint of pink on her client’s cheeks. Before leaving, she turned to Jesse for the last time and added genuinely:
 
“Bye… Jessie…”
 
At this moment, the blonde guy was stunned when the girl stared at him longingly, winking teasingly and hesitantly left. Jesse couldn’t believe what just happened. It was something surreal, out of this world… Tiffany Hwang, the most wanted girl in the whole of South Korea, Asia, and even the world had just kissed … him?! Even when a small, really small part of his heart was joyful with the whole moment, his brain spoke louder as he was reminded painfully:
 
“Yeah, but she is dating Jerk Wooyoung, remember?! And what makes you think that she isn’t playing with you right now! Wake up, Jesse! Don’t fall into her charms!”
 
The cold truth hurts, yet it won’t hurt too much if he just forgets what happened and most importantly… to resist the temptation which is… Tiffany Hwang…
 
“I can do this! I can do this! She won’t play with me! No way!”
 
Jesse repeated to himself to convince his heart and mind. Being good at self-control, this wasn’t a big problem to him, yet he knew that Tiffany Hwang doesn’t give up easily. However, he needs to do this or else, he can say goodbye for his and his friend’s careers:
 
“Oh God… what have I gotten myself into?”
 
He said while burrowing his face in his hands, almost in despair. Nonetheless, once again his heart was stubbornly reminding him of all the happenings, mostly… her kiss… His face was getting hot again when, all of sudden:
 
“Jesse! Hyung!”
 
The door was abruptly opened by two familiar figures. Yoong and Sunny stared at a flushed Jesse quizzically as the doe-eyed one asked carefully:
 
“Err… hyung… what’s wrong with your face? It seems kinda… flushed.”
 
Jesse quickly dipped his head to hide his red face, clearly embarrassed. His friends would mess with him if they knew what just happened. Yet, just his ‘luck’, Sunny approached him slowly with her eyes wide open and asked with a shocked tone:
 
“Jesse… what happened… to your neck?!”
 
“What?”
 
At her suspicious question, Jesse spun around in one move and looked at the large mirror. It was then his face darkened into a red color and his eyes almost popped out of his skull when he saw it. Taking a good look, his mouth dropped when he saw a big love bite (coughhickeycough) practically blinking on his neck or saying “Hi! I am Tiffany’s hickey!”, ‘coincidentally’ at the place where Tiffany ‘kissed’. Suddenly losing his grip on reality and seeing everything spinning, he muttered before fainting:
 
“Unbelievable…”
