Prom? Luhan

Haneul POV

"AHHH! PROM!!!" Soomi, me best friend, screamed

"Yah! Calm down! It's only prom and its like 2 weeks away" I told her. she looked at me funny

"C'mon Haneul! You know you want to go to prom" she replied all giddy. i smiled

"I do want to go" I admit

"Then you should be excited!" she urged, jumping all over me. I pushed her off

"Yeah, if only someone asked me" Soomin pouted

"If only right? I bet all the guys are going to ask the queenkas" she whined. I rolled my eyes. She's probably right. No one will ask us. But hey, if we don't, we can still go! We'll go in a group~ We don't need a date... but it would be nice if I had a date

"But we still have 2 weeks" I informed her. She brightened up a bit, but not a lot. I nudged her

"Don't worry. Even if we don't get asked, we'll go in a group" I encouraged her

"Yeah! That's a good plan!" she perked up. The bell rang and we ran to our class so we aren't late. We entered class right before the late bell rang. I let out a relieved sigh. I then sat down next to... my crush. Luhan! How lucky am I?! But I don't think he notices me... he never looks at me and whenever I try to talk to him, he would always end the conversation short. Is there something wrong with me? Do I looked funny? Does my breath stink? Again, I tried to start a conversation

"Hey!" I turned to him, trying to be as friendly as possible

"Hey..." he replied with a soft voice. And the conversation ended... like every other day. It was quiet between us. The class was pretty loud and the teacher wasn't teaching yet. Seconds passed since we talked but it felt like hours. I tried talking again

"So are you going to prom?" I asked him

"No" he replied... one word answer. Can't he say anything else?

"Why?" I asked

"I don't want to..." Well, at least it was longer? But that isn't a good answer at all. I pouted and turned to the fron. How am I supposed to befriend him? I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but he is pretty much a nobody. No one in the school knows him or recognizes him. I feel bad, so I want to become his friend. I've been trying to befriend him ever since freshmen year and I guess that's when I started liking him. But I guess it wasn't really working out

Luhan POV

I saw Haneul walk in the classroom. I knew she was immediately going to her desk, which was right next to me. With every step she took, my heart was beating 10x faster. You probably guessed it, I have a major crush on Haneul. But I can never talk to her. Why? A couple of reasons. One, I'm too shy to talk to her. She always starts the conversation and that always makes my day. But when I want to reply to her, its always short or I say the wrong things. Maybe because I'm tight-lipped. Reason number 2. I can't say that I'm a loser, but more of a nobody. Sure everybody knows I'm a nobody, that's why people never talk to me. So if I do talk to Haneul, I HAVE to make it short! I don't want her to be burdoned or embarrassed by me because she's talking to some nobody

I really wanted to ask her to prom, but by guessing, she'll probably say no. Yep, there is a big chance that she might say no. Why wouldn't she? I'm rude and cut the conversation short whenever she wants to talk and overall, I'm the nobody... But, now that it's prom week, I don't want to be that nobody! I want to have courage and ask her to prom! I kept thinking about how I'm going to ask her. But first, I need to become friends with her, or at least become friendly with her.

Haneul POV

I was so depressed over the past few days. Luhan is making it so hard for me to befriend him! Maybe I should just ask him to prom straight forward... But I would look to desperate and besides, he said he wasn't going... *pouts*

"Ottokhae!!" I complained to myself. I walked to the classroom and went to my seat. Luhan was obviously already there. He looked really stressed out today. I boosted my confidence a little more right then. I'm going to try to start a conversation with him, and this time, if he still gives short answers, then I'll give up. I took a deep breath and faced Luhan

"Hi Luhan!" I chirped. He turned to me, which he never does

"Hi Haneul" he replied. I can't even express how happy I was feeling right now! He actually knows my name!!!! I would be jumping around and cheering but I don't want to scare him away. We are about to conversation and by doing that, he would probably think I'm weird and cut the conversation short again. I can't let that happen

"How how's it going?" I asked him

"It's been fine. Same thing everyday" he replied. I was smiling so bright! I can't believe Luhan is willing to talk to me! I tried not to make it so obvious that I was excited

"So you're going to prom?" he asked... FIRST THIS TIME! I nodded my head

"Yea I am! But it's too bad that you aren't going" I pouted

"I actually might just go" he said. I perked up... he's going to prom? Holy crap! Does he have a date or something? Does that mean I don't have a chance?

"Oh, so what made you change your mind?" I asked him, curious of his answer

"Well, I want to ask this girl to prom, but I don't know if she'll say yes. But if she does, then I will go to prom. But if she says no, then I guess I'm not going" he explained. So he has a crush on someone... that means I don't have a chance. I faked a smile

"Well, I hope she says yes and good luck!" I cheered him on. He gave a small smile and class started

After class, I gathered my things slowly. I should have known that Luhan would have a crush. He probably wouldn't even ask me anyway. It's probably one of the queenkas...

"Haneul-shi?" someone called. I looked up and saw one of my classmates, Lay

"Hi Lay! What do you need?" I asked him. He rubbed his neck sheepishly

"Umm, I was wondering if you would go to prom with me?" he asked. My eyes widened. OMOMOMO! Someone is asked me to prom! I never thought this day would come!!!! I looked to the side, for no apparent reason and I saw Luhan there, looking at us. I wonder why he's looking at us like that. I turned back to Lay

"Sure, I'll go with you" I answered him. Lay smiled

"Great! I'll pick you up at 8!" I smiled and bid my good-byes and left the classroom. I skipped down the hall, feeling all giddy. But, I wished that Luhan would have asked me

Luhan POV

I'm going to do it. I'm going to ask Haneul to prom right after class. I packed my things slowly, while glancing at Haneul from time to time. She finished packing her things and was about to leave. This was my chance! I was about to walk up to her, but then I stopped in my tracks. Lay, my classmate, already went up to Haneul and asked her to prom. She said yes... I mean who wouldn't. Lay is popular and good looking... Sigh, I was too late. I left school depressed... more depressed than how I usually am. How come our time never matches?

Haneul POV

I was getting ready for prom. I want to say that I was happy to get a date, but honestly, I wasn't. I really wanted to go with Luhan, but Lay just had to ask me

"Woah~ You are going Lay... Lucky!" my friends cooed. I gave them a weak smile. The doorbell rang and one of my friends got up to get the door

"Haneul-ah! Your date is here!" she screamed. I got up and headed to the door. As expected, Lay was there. He was wearing an black tux with a pink bow. It actually looked really nice on him

He gave me a smile and gave me a corsage

"Sorry if it's not the right color" he apologized

"Ani! It's fine. I really like it" I complimented. Lay stuck his elbow out and I took it.

We entered the school and music was bouncing off the walls. There were many people dancing and a handful of students just standing there, talking, but they looked like they were having a good time. I scanned the room, looking for one person, but it looks like he wasn't here... yet. I blew air in one cheek

"I forgot to tell you. You look really pretty today" Lay yelled in my ear, since it was too loud in here. I thanked him, and we immediately went on the dance floor. It just fun at first but then I started to get uncomfortable. Lay was an AMAZING dancer, I admit but he started dancing really close to me, almost grinding. I pushed him away a few times but he kept getting closer

"Lay, can you please not dance to me so close" I asked him

"C'mon baby, its fun if we are this close. Who knows, we might get somewhere else tonight" he winked. I shuddered at the thought. I tried leaving the dance floor but he pulled me back

"Where are you going?" he looked at me deadly. His different reactions to everything was scaring me

"Away from you" I truthfully told him. This was getting to uncomfortable for my liking

"I'll make sure you won't run away from me" he said. What? Before I could respond, Lay leaned in and tried to kiss me, but I had fast relfexes and dodged him. Lay roughly gripped my chin and tried to kiss me while I was pushing his chest, so I can get away from him. The pressure from my chin disappeared and I was relieved, but what happened. I looked to the side and I saw Luhan break Lay away from me. I blinked in surprise. So we actually made it. Lay pushed Luhan off of him and tried to land a punch on him, but Luhan easily dodged it

"What do you think you're doing? Roughly pulling me away from me date" Lay questioned. Luhan had a deadly look, a wayy different look than he always has on

"What do you think you're doing to Haneul? Trying to kiss her when she obviously doesn't want to"... ouch, burn!

"Forget this!" Lay stormed out mad. I let out a relieved sigh. I looked at Luhan and he had a mad but confident look. I admit, this side on Luhan is super attractive. Luhan turned to look at me and we made eye contact. I tinted pink and looked away. I heard someone come up to me

"Are you ok?" Luhan asked. I didn't look at him and just nodded. I was embarrassed that he had to see that! What if he thinks of me differently now?

"Are you sure?" he asked again, souding concerned. I nodded again. This was weird. This Luhan is so different from the Luhan I see in class and when I fell for him. But I do like this new Luhan look. It was cute. Luhan grabbed my hand and he took me outside, where we saw the stars and it was just beautiful. The music was still booming but it was faint

"Haneul-shi" Luhan started. I hummed in response

"You know when I told you that I wanted to ask this girl to prom?" he asked me. My mood instantly dropped. I remember that conversation. I was so siked but he likes this other girl... But now that he's head, at prom, he probably ask her and she said yes. She is only lucky chick

"Yeah, I remember that" I told him, trying not to sound too disappointed.

"Well, she I couldn't ask her" he told me. I looked at him surprised

"Why not?!" I asked him. He just smiled while looking at the stars in the sky

"She already got asked to prom by this " I was again surprised. I never heard Luhan swear before. Really different from the quiet and shy Luhan you see in class.

"I'm sorry to hear that" There was silence once again. I decided to break that silence

"Then why are you at prom then?" I asked him

"Why? You don't want me here?" he asked, with one eyebrow raised. I panicked

"Ani! It's just that, you said you woulnd't come if she said no..." he laughed

"I did say that didn't I?" again there was silence

"You want to know why I'm here?" he broke the silence. I was surprised again. Finally, he decides to start the conversation

"Why?" I asked

"Because I'm going to get that girl no matter what. And, I knew that guy was an and I knew that he was going to try something on her... I was right" he said. I didn't know what to feel. That was so sweet of him. I wish he would do that for me, but then that would make me selfish

"She's one lucky girl" I told him. I looked him and he was looking back, but with a loving gaze

"Yeah, she is..." he replied

Luhan POV

Silly girl, she doesn't know I'm talking about her. I basically just described her whole situation

"She's one lucky girl" she told me. I looked at her and I couldn't stop staring at her lips. She looked at me and we made eye contact. She was so beautiful tonight

"Yeah, she is..." I said. I looked from her eyes, then back to her lips. I didn't mean to, but I somehow leaned down, getting closer to her face. Seconds later and our lips met. I kissed her sweetly and slowly. To my surprise, she kissed back. I pulled away and looked into her eyes

"I've been wanting to kiss you for so long" I breathed. I could see Haneul blush, making me smile even brighter

"Haneul, the girl I wanted to ask to prom, was you" I told her. She blushed even harder

"R-Really?" she asked. I smiled at her and nodded. She smiled too, and I saw a twinkle in her eyes

"I wanted to go to prom with you" Haneul confessed. This was the best feeling in the world! The girl I like, no love, she likes me back. Not everyone can experience this feeling. I pushed our foreheads together, both of us enjoying each other's presense. I realized then, that I never got to dance with her. I looked at my watch and prom was almost to an end. I furrowed my eyes. This is my chance. I pulled away from Haneul and dropped on one knee. Haneul looked back and saw me kneeling, she gasped

"Haneul, I know I didn't come to prom with you, but would you like to have the last dance with me?" I asked her, my heart racing. Haneul took my hand

"I would love to dance with you Luhan" she said. I gave her a bright smile and got up, holding her hand. We went back inside, on the dance floor. Haneul put her hands around my neck and I wrapped my hands around her waist. I pulled her close to me, taking in her scent. She smelled so sweet.

The night ended perfectly! I finally had the courage to ask Haneul out and guess what? SHE SAID YES! I was so happy! I picked her up and spun her around. Now, you may be wondering how I got all the courage to stand up to Lay... I didn't. I was scared out of my pants! But I knew it was the right thing to do. I can't stand by and watch someone I love being harrassed by an . Well that's the moral of my story, hope you can do the same thing! Annyeong~!
