Chapter 07
Tracking Point
“Mr. Choi?” A firm voice called out muffled behind a closed door. Two knocks followed. “Mr. Choi! A letter has arrived.”
Mr. Choi ran his palm through his well-cut black hair, creating a short lasting wave. “Yes. Come in.” He replied tautly, not looking up from the documents he was reviewing.
A lanky young man stepped in with swift steps and put an envelope quietly on his desk. Mr. Choi looked up and beheld the envelope quietly before he reached out for it and opened with a silver paper knife.
“A report from Private Eye Tae, this early?” He remarked as he pulled out the report.
“We know exactly which specialists to hire for operations like these!” The lanky man commented and positioned himself in front of the door like a security guard.
“That’s why you’re working for me…” He replied and scanned the report he held in his hand.
“So…” He began after his eyes reached the last word of the page. “Our sweet Tiffany has been localized, in Tokyo. She’s working as a simple ticket conductor! How rebellious, making a living on her own, independently.” He chuckled shortly, but went on in his usual coldness. “She is rather unsecure, adapts her way of speaking, which is in Japanese, which also suggest that she sympathizes with her, unconsciously. This is perfect! Perfect! I’ve never had an agent who analyzed the person she was spying on with such efficiency. She is even entering Tiffany’s state of mind. See here, Dae.” He showed him the report and pointed at a certain paragraph.
“… she read the news about the retirement, reacted emotionally... she could have sensed a possible threat (also increases her vulnerability), hence further amendments regarding her stay are to be expected, e.g. possible cancellation.. furthermore I can easily gain her trust this way by showing compassion and helping her out with preparations.. ”
Awesome. See, she isn’t only recording her actions, she is entering her state of mind!” He emphasized, his hands gesturing to rub his temple.
“How often did even she meet her so far?”
“Two times.”
“Two times only? Incredible. I’m sure we get our operation done much quicker than scheduled this way.” His armchair squeaked faintly as he stood up and turned around to behold Seoul’s bustling streets out of his wide windows.
“Dae, see, I’m tired of looking down on Seoul’s streets day by day. We should really pay Japan a quick visit, shouldn’t we?. I want to guide my little sweetheart back to Seoul myself. I already came to miss her beautiful smile.” His words resounded menacingly through his office.
“Sir, any required prearrangements will be carried out immediately.” Dae put out and straightened his back as if to salute.
“Good. You can go now.” Mr. Choi said without turning around.
Dae shot a quick glimpse at Mr. Choi’s well-build figure standing before Seoul’s massive skyline and pictured how his father used to stand there, greeting him with a casual smile, doing his work faithfully, inspired by the words of the Holy Lord. He sighed and shut the door. Instantly he pulled out his phone to begin with the preparations for the stay in Japan.
