Chapter 01
Tracking Point
The midnight journal was just about to be broadcasted on television when the door signaled a visitor was waiting to be attended to. A woman, dressed leisurely in her pajama stood up from her couch rather reluctantly and trotted to the door, leaving the intruding voice of the annoying anchor babbling out the news behind. She switched on the light, yawned heartily and opened the door. A shock jerked through her limbs as she stepped into a completely empty hallway. Still standing in the genkan she observed the undisturbed dark of the hallway closely but the whole scene offered no hints as of who could that someone have been who had just mercilessly ringed her out of her going-to-bed-routine. It was just plain dark, and silent. Irritated, she moved back to her apartment as she noticed something lying on the floor before her opened door. A letter attached to a small package was lying on the floor right in front of her doorstep. She picked it up and her fingers ran over a familiar kind of paper as she opened the lash to the envelope and unfolded the only paper sheet that was inside. Another assignment, she wondered as her eyes grasped the cursive of the typing.

“Taken into examination…” She read aloud and sighed, folding her brows. “What an exceedingly well described task. I guess I’m going to start it all off in a traditional style.” The hem of her pajama slid over the parquet of her apartment one more time before she threw package on her night stand and leaped into her bed, drawing the warming covers around her. The digits of her alarm clock read 00:07AM 09-02-13. Five days left, she thought and even though sleep was already weighting down her limbs she decided to just check the material she had received. She opened the package and pulled out a thick file. A western name was written in the name section of the profile, letting her sigh in a hint of frustration. Hassling around with international affairs was really one of the last things she had in mind.
