"Even though it hurts and this is meant to be.
Can you do one more thing for me?
Baby, can we pretend that tonight you're still mine?
Just hold me close and whisper in my ear that everything's alright.
I don't care if its a lie"
Foreword
I grimaced and clutched my best friend's hand tightly when I heard the piano being played. I felt my heart pounding unbearably in my chest, I could seriously just puke right now.
"Here comes the bride, all dressed in white."
I held my breath and faced the front as everyone turned around to see the bride walk down the aisle. I curled my toes as I made eye contact with him. He looked absolutely hadsome. His jet black hair slicked back nicely and his broad shoulders looked amazing in the suit. His tall stature and sharp features did nothing but enhance his gloriness. Anyone would kill to even be aknowledged by him.
He gave me a longing and sad look. I immediately lowered my eyes, afraid I would give out. I could feel the tears start to well up in my eyes but I it up and told myself to be strong. I didn't even look at the bride as she made her way up to the stand. I felt my best friend squeeze my hand lightly trying to comfort me. But honestly, nothing would be more comforting than to have things back to the way they were.
When the ceremony had officially started I blocked out everything. As I looked at the preacher all I could hear was the pure bliss of nothingness. I refused to hear the promises he would make to her. I refused to hear the words "I do." slip out of his lips. I refused to. I shut my eyes tightly when he leaned down for the kiss, I couldn't bare to see him kiss her. No way.
The sound of applauding snapped me out of my trance. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at my best friend. She gave me an apologetic look. I bit my lower lip and took a quick peek up at the stand, there he was with her clinging onto his arm as if she'd snap if she let go. He didnt like clingy girls. I could sense the annoyance just by looking at his face. He was smiling but I knew better. I sighed quietly and shook my head.
"Champagne?" a voice asked.
I knew that voice all too well. I tightly grasped my glass of cider,"No thanks." I said curtly. He sighed and sat down next to me,"Thanks for coming." he whispered. I frowned and turned away from him, I couldn't handle being so close to him. He reached out and touched my arm gently but I slapped his hand away,"Don't touch me."
He nodded slowly and his lips,"Just, can you do something for me?" He asked almost pleadingly. I rolled my eyes and stood up and was about to leave but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him so he could whisper to me
"Meet me later in room 435." He said quietly.
