You were the sunshine of my life….

“Here!!” Kikwang waved his hand cheerfully when he saw a tall young man went into the café. The young man was his beloved boyfriend, Dongwoon. They have known each other since middle school, but had just started going out two years ago when they graduated from high school. As Dongwoon got closer, Kikwang realized that the younger man looked so sad. Immediately the smile on his face died, replaced by concern and worried.

Please keep smiling my love…

“What happened?” Kikwang asked. His voice was so soft, Dongwoon wanted to hear that voice forever. Dongwoon sat across Kikwang, then he forced himself to smile, but the smile did not reach his eyes and Kikwang knew that there had to be something wrong going on. Dongwoon kept his silence, did not dare to break the news to his beloved, since he knew that the news would make the shine in Kikwang’s eyes died. “Woonnie…” Kikwang whined. “I…” Dongwoon began, breathing deeply. He rubbed his two palms on his face.

“I was diagnosed with brain cancer.”

There. He said it. He didn’t dare to look up at Kikwang. Hi did not want to see his boyfriend’s sad face.

Kikwang sat there with his mouth opened. He was so shocked to hear the news. He was trembling and tears threatened to fall from his beautiful eyes. They both kept their silence.

 “How… How did that happen?” He finally asked in disbelief. His tears finally escaped his eyes.

Dongwoon finally looked at Kikwang, his heart broke to see tears overflew his face. “I.. just had a check up,” he began. “You know that I often have a headache. Finally yesterday I went to hospital to see a doctor about my head. The result came in today…” He couldn’t continue as he heard sobs that came from Kikwang. He hated to see his boyfriend broke down like this. Let alone it was all because of him. He moved to sit next to Kikwang, put his head in the crook of his neck and calmed him down.

“Sshh… Don’t worry... I am not easy to defeat,” He said while Kikwang’s soft black hair. “How long? How long do we have left?” Kikwang asked, still hiccupping. He hugged Dongwoon tightly, as if he would not let him go away. “Three months…” Dongwoon answered, returned the hug. Dongwoon felt very heartbroken to see Kikwang’s reaction. He wanted to be with Kikwang forever. He loved him so much. He felt that it was not fair that they were put in the situation like this.

That was the first part of the story.. How was it?? I don't know if it's good enough.. More parts to come, though.

I'm planning to make the story short. So.. We'll see..
