Snow was falling, creating small mounds on the grass. He didn’t move, even when the snow started to freeze his pale skin. He stared up at the dark night sky, never moving away. Tears rolled down from his eyes and he started to sing softly.

“As if I was reborn as a child,

The snow blew over his body, covering him in a thin layer. The tears in his eyes swelled more, his heart beating faster as the thoughts of the one he loved faded from his mind.

He wished he could have protected him better, to have stopped everything, to have taken everything back. He wanted to die with a clear mind and free heart.

Clear mind, free heart; that’s all he wanted before he was left to die. The snow had picked up, covering his body in a thicker layer of cold.
