[epilogue]

Sixteen Summers Ago

[epilogue]

Family means something different to each of us.

(I want you to think of different things)

For Kris Wu, family means dragging Luhan out of bed after 'five more minutes' becomes ten. It means sitting around the table at dinner and discussing Luhan's grades (I want you to think of Luhan's report cards).

It means running after Luhan with a helmet in his hands, because the careless teen has once again 'forgotten' it (And how he never listens when he's told that he's not supposed to ride his bike without a helmet).

It means teasing Luhan about that girl that he likes (I want you to think of Luhan's first crush), and embarrassing the socks off his son by yelling, "I love you!" out the car window as he drives away, laughing.

It means attending showcases and parent meetings, and signing autographs at random places, sighing with Luhan when that happens, because people still recognise him, even though he'd left the spotlight a year ago (You're an idol, and still are, from what I'm guessing).

It means teaching Luhan how to drive and fixing dents in their car because a certain somebody had panicked and swerved too fast when his instructor had said, turn left gently (You do things you don't want to do, but it doesn't matter, because it's for people you love).

It's having Christmas dinners with his four brothers, their wives, and his nieces and nephews, who chase after Luhan with an endless amount of books, toys and games that he "must" read and play with them ("Dad, save me, they said that they're going to rip my eyes out if I don't play with them!").

It's going on drives back down to the coast every few weeks, visiting Yoona's grave and watching the sun set at the beach later on (I forgive you for abandoning me; I moved past that years ago. I had to).

It means placing a photo of him and Luhan on either side of their favourite photo of Yoona, and crying with him sometimes when everything is too much (He's a strong boy, and he tries not to show it when he's hurt−and he's been hurt a lot).

It means being there for his son− whenever, wherever and however Luhan needs him to be (He needs someone with him in this time of his life, to support and guide him, and I know that won't be me. So, please remember that).

Family means spending every summer with Luhan (That's what being family means).

Chapter 9: I cried, I really did!
Yoona's letter, Luhan's confession. Everything was just...Mind-blowing. Really.
Does this mean that Luhan has uncles too? Fairly sure that Uncle Umin is his favorite xD

Chapter 9: ;;A;;
this is so heart wrenching (though for me not as heartbreaking as Tangerine Express). I read Tangerine Express and that's a very, very great and angsty and nicely written fanfic, so I decided to read your other stories and interested by 'family' tag in this fic. So, yeah this is nicely written too ;A;
I remember about Yoona while read this. Remember she, as rumor has said, too, is abandoned by her mother.

"When I was younger, I tried to pretend that
it didn't hurt; you know, not having a father,"
Luhan says, and the words seem to stab Kris
through the heart. "For Mom's sake. I figured
I would never love you as much as Mom did,
and I didn't want to hurt her by saying that I
wanted you to be there. But that's all I ever
wanted, for you to be there. Just once."

I cried when i read that. And Yoona's letter.

'Remember that he's still a child, and no child deserves to be left alone.'

no child deserves to be left alone.

Yoonaaaaa ;;;---;;;

ahem. sorry i'm spazzing. well, this fic sure is amazing. <3 You have amazing writing skill, sarozu. write more and update Tangerine Express, please? :)
hwaiting! *A*)9
