Chapter 17

Luhan chased after Sehun as soon as he arrived at the fan-signing location. The changing room was full of organizing crew and some of EXO-K’s members. Baekhyun was thickening his eyeliner with the help of D.O. Suho seemed to relax, pointing at the toilet where Sehun was probably. Luhan was going there just to find Chanyeol and Kris who were practicing their ‘Two Moon’ raps pronunciation. The happy virus said he didn’t see Sehun from a while ago, telling him too, that Kai had disappeared along with Sehun.

Luhan attempted to call Sehun’s number only to be reminded that it was useless because Kai would be the one who answered in the other end. Taking a turn on the staircase, he almost bumped into Lay and Tao. The two reminded Luhan that the show would be started in 15 minutes.

There was no other choice. Luhan dialed Sehun’s number and gambled.

“Hyung…” a vaguely voice from the other end was heard.

“Sehun? Sehun-ah, where are you?” asked Luhan. He was sure he was talking with Oh Sehun, recognizing him by the way he said ‘hyung’ which was so soft. “The show will be started shortly after. Come back quickly before—“

“Hyung…” called Sehun, cutting Luhan’s word. “Today, please, stay with me as Hunhan…”

“Iye?”

“Let’s play Hunhan for the entire day. During the fan signing later, stay always by my side. We will show the fans, how real Hunhan is. Today, please do it today… forget about Xiuhan, Lumin, or whatever it is. There’s only Hunhan. Only Hunhan wh—“

Tuuut…

Sehun’s voice was replaced by an unconnected sound, cutting Sehun’s words—a request by a very soft voice about his wish to make Hunhan came back alive. And someone who was clearly not wanting it to happen, snatching Sehun’s phone, and rejected the call that Luhan tried later. Chen then dialed Luhan, asking him to go back to the changing room or else, manager hyung would pull the vein from neck to head.

Luhan finally met Sehun on a junction before the changing room. With Kai.

“Sehun-ah…” called Luhan. The maknae was about to say Luhan in reply but manager hyung had come first, dragging the three  towards the changing room. Through his gaze, Luhan tried to dig up about what had happened just now, but Sehun hung his head low instead, as if his chin was planted on his chest.

Joining EXO-K, EXO-M’s members went up to the podium that had been prepared. A table with length of ten meters was in the center. Each member took a seat, which had been determined by a tag name on the chair’s back. From the farthest right: Baekhyun, D.O, Chanyeol, Sehun, Kai, Suho, Luhan, Xiumin, Tao, Kris, Lay, and Chen.

Luhan noticed Sehun sat on his own seat obediently; that was between Chanyeol and Kai, still looking away from his gaze. Luhan’s mind was in an uproar caused by two things: Sitting sweetly on his own seat during the event and having confusion, which could cause a migraine; or pleasing his curiosity by getting up and pulling Sehun to his side.

Of course, Luhan didn’t want to get migraine. He wanted to sleep soundly after this tiring activity.

“Joonmyun-ah, help me this time, please. Exchange your seat with Sehun…” said Luhan.

“Mwo?” Suho’s reaction was a bit slow.

Luhan snorted. He gave a firm grip on Suho’s shoulder. “I’ve never doubt your leadership or see you lower than Kris like Baekhyun and Chanyeol did. You are the ultimate leader of EXO, Suho The Guardian (Suho = guardian). As a dedicated and responsible leader, for EXO’s sake, I beg you move to Sehun’s place right now.”

The leader hurried. “A-ara…” answered Suho while cleaning the cue cards that he’d been memorized. He nudged Kai’ shoulder to give him a way, telling him that there was a change in sitting position. Sehun seemed to be confused with Suho’s order to sit on his former place, but the leader pulled him immediately. “Think about this for EXO’s sake!” said Suho before busying himself with lines of sentence he should give later.

Kai seemed to disagree. “You sit on my place!” He said while pulling Sehun’s arm.

Luhan pulled Sehun’s other arm. “Sehun sits here. Go back to your seat, Kim Jongin!”

“Luhan hyung!” Kai snarled with high tone that got attention all of sudden from the members, and the crew who was walking back and forth preparing the venue. Fortunately, the fans hadn’t been allowed to enter so the commotion couldn’t scratch EXO’s image. Yes, the togetherness that had been showed all this time was threatened by Luhan hyung’s stubbornness, Kai thought. Why he didn’t want to understand the half-threatening warn he told last time?

Reviving Hunhan would only hurt Sehun. His feeling. His heart.

Kris just needed to stand to be noticed from his seat. “Hey, you… what’s wrong here?”

“Like what I’ve said, Sehun will sit here. Beside me, “said Luhan, confirming.

Kai snorted. “That’s Suho hyung’s place. Sehun will—“

Sehun released himself from Kai, making the member who was called ‘the dancing machine’ stared at him disbelieving. His help was rejected out of hand. “I’ll sit here,” said Sehun, accepting Luhan’s proposal. He then turned his sitting position, getting ready in his new seat. “Hyung, you can release me now…” said him towards Luhan.

Luhan nodded, still half-disbelieving at Sehun’s action towards Kai. He thought Sehun would listen to his best friend more than him. Or, it would make more sense if Sehun struggled a little until each leader would interfere and separate them. That would be a lot more thrilling. This one was too easy. Sehun gave his choice to him by ignoring Kai’s attention. Luhan pitied that boy a bit.

“Oh Sehun…” called Kai flatly.

The next of his sentence was cut by the crew order to start the event. The now impatient fans was now allowed to enter orderly. The members waved right away and gave smile welcoming their arrival. Each name was being shouted, including couple’s name, according to one’s preference. Hunhan was dominant since Sehun was spotted beside Luhan and interacting intimately.

No, no. It was Sehun who started all those things. He put his hand on Luhan’s shoulder, while fans were wriggling up and down aiming for those two. On the other hand, Luhan didn’t back away, this was what he missed. Hunhan’s popularity.

His popularity.

Luhan glanced at the table, at Sehun’s fingers which was trembling holding him.

“Ireohke…” said Luhan, moving his hand over Sehun’s, which was answered with a really loud scream of their fans. As Sehun wished, today they did play Hunhan whole-heartedly.

From beside Luhan’s shoulder, Xiumin smiled. Everything had gone back to normal again. Right?
