Chapter 14

Kai’s POV

Why was it so hard to close my eyes? Usually, I’m a the easiest one to sleep compared to the other member. A bit less than one minute, I would have drowned in a deep sleep once I touch the bed. Seeing Kyungsoo hyung had curled up like a ball in his blanket, it envied me. I really wanted to pinch EXO-K Umma’s cheeks, waking him up and making him stay awake all night with me. Maybe cooking his kimchi spaghetti which was famous among noona fans. It happened that I’m hungry.

Actually I was about to fall asleep just before. Of course, before Xiumin hyung called all so sudden and made me leaped up from my slumber because of his call.

Why did a call for Sehun ring my phone, was that what you think? Ha, of course because it was Sehun’s number, exactly. Sabotage. Propaganda. Conspiracy. A vile tactic? You could say whichever you want but far from the negative image, the bad guy. Regarding this, I did this for Sehun’s sake. He himself had agreed to this.

To make it clear, let’s go back to the event five days ago.

Suho hyung called Kris hyung, dui zhang, just for sharing some news of each group. EXO-M finished an interview while EXO-K was doing fan-signing event at a department store. Both were tiring. All members sprawled to their bedroom in no time. Sehun and I were both loafing beside Suho hyung, switching through the TV channels, looking for a good show.

“Kai…,” called Suho hyung while handing me his phone. “Keep it for a while; I think I forgot to close the faucet.”

I turned my head to the side receiving the phone. Kris hyung was still waiting in the other end; I think he was watching a football game. The supporters’ yelling was heard in the background. Along with Luhan hyung, Xiumin hyung and Chen hyung’s voices. Talking about something which (sadly) spoken in Korean. Although a little bit vague, Sehun and I could catch what they were saying.

Luhan hyung’s voice, positive, from his poor Korean dialect.

…keuromyeon, what do you think I’m holding Sehun’s hand for, uh? Of course, I’m the most popular M member in Korea…

The worst.

The clueless Luhan hyung, fooling around with Sehun in the worst way. Doesn’t he know Sehun’s reason for granting Luhan’s wish to be his couple with so much difficultly because there was a feeling thrown in there. It was not the same to play this couple thing with or with no feeling. Baekhyun hyung and Chanyeol hyung were the example. They were doing Baekyeol’s interaction freely in front of public without being bothered by it because it was 100% FAKE. A public’s fib, just a part of fan service.

Did you think Hunhan was as fake as Baekyeol? So wrong. Sehun was different. He did have ‘that’ feeling for Luhan hyung. Right, ‘that’ feeling. ‘That’ feeling that made Sehun worries whenever not hearing any news about Luhan hyung’s even just for one day. Making his angelic face gleamed whenever seeing the most updated fan-taken post in EXO fan site. Sehun thanked any instant paparazzi out there who deserved well of sharing some news about Luhan hyung to him.

Sehun liked Luhan.

As the only person who knows this, I couldn’t let Luhan hyung did as he pleased. After getting over the shock at Luhan hyung’s provocative words, I offered this plan. Almost like a quick respon so it couldn’t be worse.

I got my way to persuade Sehun to exchange our phone numbers, like a filter, just in case Luhan hyung asked something he couldn’t deny. Yesterday, at the café, I had expected there was something wrong. The secret conversation between Luhan hyung and Sehun might end up one-sided. Thus, I initiated to replace Sehun, and became emotional.

How come I wasn’t, Luhan hyung didn’t feel guilty at all for what he had done to Sehun. He was too worried about his popularity than keeping Sehun’s feeling intact. Dammit. The angel-like human in front of camera did something so cruel. To Sehun. To my best friend.

From this moment on, I wouldn’t let him go easily. Especially after today, Luhan hyung seemed to have a sly plot with Xiumin hyung. Whatever it was, it made Sehun looked furious during the recording. Of course not as far as crying, let alone locked the door like girls does. All of them were just my bait so Xiumin hyung would realize, that he was on the wrong side.

But… what was exactly the plan they’re working on?

Ah, I couldn’t think with famished belly…

Anyway, honestly I did want to be called Robin Hood. The truth protector with the wrong way.

And I was really hungry.

Kyungsoo hyung, please wake up now…
