7 Years Ago - Amber POV – Hospital

The first time I was told about not living past twenty was seven years ago when I was ten years old. It wasn’t even from my own doctor, my parents or my best friend Suzy. It was from someone that I didn’t even know. The moment of fate came out of nowhere, in just an instant.

"Since Dr. Bae isn’t here for this examination today I will be his substitution. I was worried about how frail you would be considering your condition but I’m relieved to see such a healthy child.” I sat on the hospital bed shirtless patiently waiting for my check up to end. She ran her stethoscope around my chest. The cold metal sent shivers through my body. This doctor had no ill intentions and even now when I think back on the day, I feel no bitterness towards her. “I heard that you won’t live to be twenty but you’re remarkable for being so cheerful and for living life to its fullest.”

When she said those words, my whole mind went blank. ‘Won’t live to be twenty.’ echoed through my head. Then I heard her say, “Everything is stable Mr. Liu. I’m sure that Dr. Bae and your parents are giving you their support, but your spirit is the most important thing.” Then she stood and ruffled my hair. That moment all I could think about was Suzy.That day I realized how short my life was. My life had a time limit. My love life had a time limit.

Present – Amber POV

I stood leaned against a rail with my hands in my pockets waiting for Aiden’s car to arrive. I was at the bottom of the hill with several other people who came to watch the race. Today was Aiden’s race against OK Entertainment’s CEO Nichkhun. It’s been a few months since Aiden’s raced since he became the Chief Operating Officer for our uncles company but I doubt he’ll lose. He’s only lost once. Across from me stood Taecyeon, I could feel him staring. Next to me stood Suzy’s brother Jason and my other best friend Min. I haven’t told Suzy about me drift racing yet. In fact she doesn’t even know Jason does it too. We promised to keep it a secret from her.

“Here they come!” Min yelled. I looked up and I could see Aiden’s car in the front. I smiled, “I knew you hadn’t lost your touch bro.” I whispered to myself with a smirk. I heard the cars screeching as they drifted one last corner. I pushed myself off the rail and walked closer to the finish line. I watched as Aiden’s car crossed the finish line and Nichkhun’s car followed a second later.

Aiden got out of his car the same time Nichkhu did. “I see you haven’t lost your touch.” Min said to my brother as we walked towards him. Aiden gave out a smile of happiness.

“That race was too easy, Nichkhun!” Aiden yelled. I looked over to where the two Ok brothers stood. Nichkhun gave a sly smirk before saying, “Next time it won’t be. How about we have our little brothers race?” Just then my phone started vibrating, it was a text from Uncle Jin. 

'Get your asses home right now.'

"Aiden we gotta go, Uncle Jin just texted me and he's mad." I said. Aiden nodded and checked the time on his watch. ", it's past midnight." We were screwed. "Hey Ok! Next time. Soon. Alright?" Aiden yelled out before we hopped into his car and drove home.

This is my version of the Japanese movie "I Give My First Love To You". Be warned it does not actually follow the movie, some of the manga yes kinda. But it mainly has stuff I just added because it just popped to me. So it is not going to be like the movie which means you can't predict what happens. ;)
