(Background)
It has been 6 month since Ju Eun and Kathy arrived at Seoul University. It is January and Kathy and Jae Joong have been going out for about a month. Yay them. Also their winter break just started and that is when it all starts.

Kathy was in our dorm when I walked in.
“Hey Mrs. Jae Joong’s girlfriend” I teased
Kathy blushed and threw a pillow at me but I dodged it and threw it back hitting her.
“Hahahaha you shouldn’t have thrown that pillow.”I laughed so hard I had tears
“Well it isn’t nice to say what you said.” She smiled as she said it
“”Oh PUH lease you know you like him a lot. And he likes you more than ever!” I said
“Well that is true.”
“Hey what are you doing Kathy?” I continued, “Let’s go! Its winter break and you are working on your homework!”
“”But-“Before she could answer I dragged her out of the dorm.
“HEY SO EUN OVER HERE!!!!!!!!!!” Kathy and I screamed
“ONE SEC LET ME FINISH SOMETHING!!!!!” So Eun screamed back
Then all of a sudden I looked and somebody covered Kathy’s eyes.
“Guess who darlin?” Jae Joong said sarcastically
“’Hummmmmm let’s see. Yun ho? Xiah? Yoo Chun? Changmin!?” she said
“Wow Kathy you don’t even remember your own boyfriends name!?” Jae Joong said
“Hey Oppa (older brother, older guy friend, boyfriend)” Kathy replied
“Hey darling” Then he kissed her on the cheek.
“COME ON, GET A ROOM!” I said sarcastically
Then they just looked at me like they were mad.
“OK………………. Oh Look there’s So Eun!” I said then I ran
Kathy and Jae Joong were talking to each other about having another date.
“Oppa where do you want to go?” Kathy asked
“Let’s see…. What does my little Byul (star) want to do? Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm” Jae Joong said
“How about the carnival?”
“OMG THAT IS GOING TO BE SO FUN!”Kathy said
When Kathy and Jae Joong came So Eun and I were talking to DBSK. We were silent. When they came we just looked at them.
“Hey guys’ what’s up?”Kathy asked
None of us would talk to her. Then I finally broke the silence. “Ummmmmm Jae Joong, Kathy can I talk to you alone?”
“Sure!” she said together.
Omg they look so cute together! They look like they have been going out for years. I always hate to be the bear of bad news! Why me why do I have to tell Kathy and Jae Joong! I though
“Ummmmmmmmmmm Kathy.” I said
“Yeah what’s up?” Kathy said
Omg why did she have to talk so joyfully!
“Well your parents called from America!” I started off
“OMG THAT IS AMAZING!” Kathy said
“Well not really.” I said so quietly I was sure she didn’t hear anything
“What do you mean?” Jae Joong said
How did he hear me!!!!!!!
“Oppa what did she say?” Kathy said
“She said not really.”
THANKS FOR BLURTING IT OUT!
“What do you mean Ju Eun?”Kathy was getting very worried
“Ummmm well you see………………………..” I hesitated
“GET TO THE POINT ALREADY AUTUMN JU EUN PARK!”Kathy said so furiously
She is so pissed! She never uses my full name!
“Do you want the good news or the bad news first?” I hesitated to ask
“Ummmmm…….good news!” She said with hope
“Ok you know the debt your father had to pay to the bigger company?”
She just shook her head
“Well he paid all of it off!” I said joyfully
“OMG! That is great news!”She said joyfully and continued, “I doubt there will be any bad new now!”
Omg I hate to crush her hopes but I have too. I’m sorry Kathy and Jae Joong
“Ok the bad news is that you have to go back to America.”I whispered it softer than before.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?!?!?!”Again Jae Joong heard me
“What did she say oppa?”
“THAT YOU HAVE TO LEAVE KOREA! YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME I WON’T ALLOW IT!”Jae Joong said furiously.
“Ju Eun what are you talking about?” Kathy said so sadly
They had to make me tell her didn’t they?
“You father didn’t want to tell you himself so he called me to tell you. You used most of the company’s money and some of your parent’s savings.”
“So is that why they want me to come back. To help raise money for the company.” Kathy said so sad and lonely like. I couldn’t say anything so I just shook my head.
“When do I have to leave?” Kathy asked
“3 days from now. I am SO sorry Kathy!” I felt like I was going to cry
“That gives me and Jae Joong just 3 days to spend together.” She said while looking at the floor.
“THIS CAN’T BE HAPPINING! KATHY YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME! PLEASE DON’T GO!”Jae Joong’s begging was killing me so I excused myself
“What about all the things we were going to do together?” Jae Joong pleaded.
“I’m so sorry but I have to go to my parents Jae Joong.” Kathy said in the most calming voice
“I promised them if anything happened I would be back no matter what. I’m sorry.” Kathy said
“So are you really going to leave then?” Jae Joong said. Kathy just shook her head. There was a long silent pause.
“Are you still up for the carnival?” “It could be like my farewell party and our last date.” Kathy said
“Sure, anything for my little Byul.” Jae Joong said and kissed her on the cheek.
They came to the group and they just sat there holding each other like a child holding onto a teddy bear.
“So are we going to get ready for your trip?” So Eun asked in such a depressing voice that I was shocked.
“Sure let’s hurry and pack today. Then tomorrow l can transfer back to Washington High.”Kathy said so sadly
With that we went to the dorm and started to pack up her things.

(Next day)
That day was the most depressing day of my life. My best friend, my best friend who came to Korea with me had to leave.
Kathy was in the front office and she was transferring back to Washington High. We were still packing her stuff that night without saying a single thing. I couldn’t go to sleep. I kept hearing Kathy cry because she had to leave. She was the best student in her class and was about to achieve so much in Seoul University but she has to leave. It was a sleepless night and I couldn’t bare it.

(The Final Day)
It was 3:00 pm when I woke up. I couldn’t get any sleep. When I looked to see if Kathy was on her side of the dorm it seemed so lonely. No more rainbowed colored bed spread on her bed. None of her favorite books on the book self. Her desk was completely cleaned out. Nothing was there. But worst of all, worst of all was her wall. It lost her unique flare. With all the poems she wrote. All the posters of her favorite bands. But the thing I couldn’t stand the most was that wall, that single wall had no pictures of Kathy, So Eun, BoA, and me. The walls stripped until everything was blank. Nothing, nothing to remind her of her best friend on that side of the room. Nothing at all.
By the time I got ready it was 5:30 pm someone knocked at the door and I opened it. It was Kyu Hyun. He was so cheerful and so happy but I haven’t told him about Kathy.
“Hey Ju Eun you wanted to tell me something?” Kyu Hyun said so happily
“Yeah, well you know Kathy right?” I started off
“OF COURSE SHE IS SO FUN TO HANG OUT WITH!” Kyu Hyun said
“Well…………”
“What happened to her?” Kyu Hyun asked worried
“Nothing, it’s just that she won’t be attending Seoul University anymore.” I said
“WHY NOT!?”
“Because she had to go back to America and help her family company.” I said
“Why would you want to tell me that?!” Kyu Hyun said a little mad
“Because she was one of your best friends and I didn’t want you to be surprised when you don’t see her anymore!” I yelled. That’s what made me cry a little. I have never cried in front of anyone but the tears wouldn’t stop falling.
“Ju Eun I’m so sorry. I didn’t know.” Kyu Hyun said as he hugged me. He felt so warm and comforting that I didn’t want to let go. Then he kissed my fore head which surprised me. So I pushed him away. He wiped away my tears then I smiled.
“Let’s go get Kathy a goodbye and good luck gift.” I said Kyu Hyun just smiled and followed.
It was 6:30 pm when Kyu Hyun and I met Kathy and Jae Joong. I warned both of them if they fight I would kick both of their butts. So amazingly they listened.
“Kathy do you want to spend some alone time with Jae Joong?” Kyu Hyun asked
“Sure that would be nice.”Kathy said. We hugged then we left.
“Oppa I’m so sorry I have to leave tomorrow.” Kathy said
“It isn’t your fault. You made a promise to your parents and I respect that.” Jae Joong said with a smile
“Oppa is it ok if we go on the ferries wheel? I never got on one before.”Kathy said
“WHAT YOU NEVER BEEN ON A FERRIES WHEEL!?” Jae Joong asked all kiddies like. Kathy shook her head. “WELL COME ON WE HAVE TO RIDE IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE! COME ON!”Jae Joong said as he dragged Kathy along.
“Oh wow, the view is so beautiful up here.” Kathy said
“Isn’t it?” Jae Joong replied. All of a sudden Jae Joong goes out a box and handed it to Kathy.
“What is this for oppa?”Kathy asked sunned
“It’s for you. Whenever you look at I want you to think about me ok?” Jae Joong said
Kathy nodded then opened the box. It was so beautiful it was a necklace when it shined in the light.

“Oppa why did you bring another chain for?” Kathy asked
“Because my little Byul (star) one is for me!” Jae Joong said
“I get the circle because I will always protect you from any danger.” Jae Joong continued
“You get the heart because you will always carry my love no matter where you go.”
‘The circle can unsnap and be worn as a necklace and same with the heart. But if you but it together it makes the necklace even more beautiful.” Then they both helped each other put the necklace on.
For a second they just started into each other’s eyes. The Jae Joong got closer and Kathy closed her eyes. His soft lips touched hers and Kathy could feel tear down her face. Jae Joong was crying. On that very night they had their first real kiss.

(At the Airport)
Everyone was at the airport. Ju Eun, So Eun, BoA, Jae Joong, Kyu Hyun, DBSK and Su Ju. Surprisingly none of the groups even fought one another. Everyone said good bye to Kathy. Jae Joong gave her another kiss. The rest just hugged her.
“Kathy, be careful ok? Oh and can you tell my parents that I miss them and same with all of our friends?” I said trying not to cry
“Of course I will. You be safe ok Ju Eun.” Kathy said
“Don’t worry about me worry about yourself missy!” I said sarcastically. We hugged then she waved to all of us when she was going through the gate. That’s when a tear drop fell from my eyes. Kyu Hyun noticed then wiped it away for me.
All of a sudden a guy comes up to us and asks, “Do you guys go to Seoul University?” Since no one talk I had to talk again and I said, “Yeah but how did you know that?” Then the mystery boy said, “Because I’m the new transfer student!” We just looked at him in disbelief.
We went back to Seoul University with the new guy eyeing everybody and smirking to himself.

I wonder who the new guys is.*Smirks. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter even though it is sad. Oh sorry for the really corny necklace park. I was thinking of boys before flowers and it was so romantic that Min Ho did that for Hye Sun. Sorry about that part.
