~Hours earlier~

“Not one call? Please!”

“ANDWAE!”

Junmyeon groans “But I want too-“

“No hyung you’d ruin it!” Sehun exclaims frustrated at his hyung’s behaviour. Well actually he cant blame him because if anyone pulled him away and demanded him not too wish his lover a happy birthday, he might as well kill somebody

“Just endure it for a while. Just a while okay?” Jongin says patting Junmyeon’s back comfortingly. “Fine. I give up aish! Let’s just hurry and decorate this place already”

Junmyeon feels his heart beat widly in his chest at the last message received from Wu Fan

To: Juunie

From: Wu Fan

Sorry its taking us so long Yixing was being, well, quite difficult. But don’t worry were almost there, 5 minutes max. Be ready okay?

Finally. After all this time I can finally see the person I’ve been longing to see!

“Guys there almost here!” he shouts out to the group

Excitingly everyone double checks everything over before hearing a cough from none other than Minseok, indicating to them that they are there. EXO-M comes through the doorway and they all acknowledge one another, Sehun staring longingly at Lu Han, both of them commanding each other silently to stay where they are

Junmyeon stares at the blindfolded Yixing and wants badly to run up to him, take him in his arms and run out, kidnapping him successfully. But no. He can't do that (sadly)

Wu Fan, Minseok, Jongdae, Lu Han and Zitao release Yixing from their grip and moves behind him as everyone watches amusedly as Yixing starts to seemingly freak out with being left alone, in who knows where, blindfolded.

“YA! Where did you all go!”

Watching on with adrenaline pumping through his system, Junmyeon watches as Yixing hurriedly unties his blindfold, revealing those beautiful eyes and his make over

His breath all but hitches and hurries himself to join the others in saying-

“SURPRISE!”

Everyone laughs as Yixing’s eyes pop out in their sockets

“W-what but how, and why, and when and What?”

Junmyeon laughs as he watches Yixing’s cute reaction his eyes roaming over the younger

He looks…holy he looks…oh my god

Yixing’s eyes land on Junmyeon’s and his heart once again reacts as they smile at one another. Yixing tries to calm his nervous self

“Okay this is kinda awkward everyone hug!” Sehun shouts running towards Yixing and tackling him.

“Baozi hyung!”

“AYO WHADUP KRIS!”

“Yeollie!”

“Sehunnie!”

Greetings are heard everywhere

Finally. Finally Junmyeon and Yixing are in front of one another

“Hyung”

“Yixing-ah”

A silent overcomes them as they stare at each other quietly in their own world.

“Damn come here”

Junmyeon pulls Yixing into his arms and they hug each other so tightly.

“Happy Birthday” Junmyeon whispers in Yixing’s ears

“Thank you” Yixing whispers back

“Okay love birds break it up! Celebration time!”

They step back and Yixing all but glares at Jongin for ruining the moment

“You look amazing by the way. As always” Junmyeon whispers slyly into Yixing’s ear as the younger blushes and watches Junmyeon give him one last smile before walking to the rest of the group.

I look amazing? Has he seen himself? Holy . Finally after so long I can see my angel

Yixing stares up at the night sky as he takes a breath away from the amazing party. He quickly told Wu Fan that he needed some air and stepped away. Weird for the birthday person to leave but hey, he was getting heated and couldn’t handle it

Some of the Super Junior hyung’s stopped by, Leeteuk, Sungmin, Khyuhyun, Yesung and Ryeweok. SHINee stopped by as well as the SNSD Sunbae’s Tiffany, Jessica and Taeyeon.

It’s been a great day, but Yixing’s heart still feels heavy

I’m happy that I got to see him but the fact that I still haven’t told him how I feel…kills me. I couldn’t handle seeing him for a month. Imagine what happens after our showcase in China. We will finally split for a long time. How will I handle that? Will I even be able too?

“Don’t frown like that. The birthday boy should be happy”

Turning around in an instant, Yixing stares at the wonderful person who has managed to steal his heart. “Junmyeon-ah. Why’d you come out?”

Junmyeon walks forward and sits beside Yixing on the patch of grass outside of SM Ent.

“Well I saw you leave and decided to follow. Watched you for a bit and here I am” Yixing chuckles at his hyung’s honest explanation “Watching me huh?” Junmyeon turns to look at him sheepishly “Pretty much”

The two stare at each other until Yixing breaks the eye contact. Looking back up at the night sky

“How are things going with EXO-M?” Junmyeon asks

Yixing thinks for a moment before smiling “Great actually. And EXO-K? How’s it like being the oldest?”

Junmyeon grins his brilliant smile “Real good. It’s okay actually. They call me grandpa Junnie sometimes”

Junmyeon watches in awe as Yixing laughs that magical laugh of his “Grandpa Junnie? Man if we called Wu Fan Gramps he’d butcher us, apart from Tao who would just use his aegyo and love for Wu Fan to get out of it”

They laugh again before its silent

“How’s Sehun-ah doing? I know Lu Han ge’s doing it tough” Yixing says thinking silently of his two friends. Junmyeon nods before sighing shakily

“It’s hard for him but his doing well. He knows that Lu Han is his and he is Lu Han’s. in the end he knows they’ll always be together. I think that’s what's getting him through this” Junmyeon explains

Yixing smiles warmly “Sehun-ah’s got his great hyung’s to take care of him. Plus Junnie the gramps”

Junmyeon shoves him playfully and Yixing pokes out his tongue in a childish manner “Mehrong!”

Yixing feels his phone vibrate and reaches for his phone, laughing at the text

To: Xingie gege!

From: Panda Tao

Gege where’d you go? Come back we’ve prepard short speeches for you! oh by the way Wu Fan is on a rampage because Jongin-ah called him grandpa because he kept nagging at us to control our eating of junk. A little help?

“Really? Only Jongin would do that” Junmyeon says laughing as Yixing showed him the text. “Yep. That boy is really something” Junmyeon nods his head in agreement and the two are laughing again.

“I really missed this” Junmyeon says, reaching out an arm to drape it around Yixing, pulling him closer to him. Yixing gulps as he feels his heart turn erractic again “I did too hyung”

They sit there for a while basking in each other’s warmth before Yixing feels another vibration

To: Xingie gege!

From: Panda Tao

Gege hurry and come back with Junnie hyung! we want to say our speeches already. Plus don’t worry about Wu Fan, I bbuing bbuing him and he calmed down. Jongin-ah is now hiding behind Kyungsoo hyung. Don’t worry Sehun-ah caught it all on tape. It’s really funny!

“Aish these kids are really impatient. Come on Xingie let’s get back in”

Yixing whines silently at the loss of the warmth but smiles instantly when Junmyeon grabs onto his hand and intertwines them together

“Which order are we going in?” Minseok asks as Junmyeon and Yixing eventually make their way back to the hall.

“Hmm how about EXO-M start first and then us?” Baekhyun suggests

They all seem to agree

“Me first!” Tao says excitingly as he makes his way to the front of the room, smiling all the way. Yixing still finds the boy amazingly mysterious- when he first met him Tao seemed real manly, stoic and kind of cold. But once he knew the boy, he turned out to be really playful, shy and a really down to earth person. He doesn’t fail to surprise him everday

“Hi Xingie gege- happy birthday again! I’ve known you for quite sometime. Your like an older brother to me, someone really special to me, of course as well as everyone else here” Tao stops to look at everybody carefully before stopping briefly at Wu Fan and then finally connecting with Yixing again

“Thank you for everything you’ve done and for who you are. You are really truly amazing ge. You helped me out whenever I needed it and your always willing to open your heart to everyone. I love you a lot Yixing-ah. Continue to be your awesome self! I love you!” Tao ends his speech in saying I love you in english and throwing Yixing a heart

Everyone claps and Yixing hugs the young boy tightly “Thank you Tao”

“My turn!”

Minseok stands from where he is and smiles brightly at everyone

“Zhang Yixing. You are such a good friend. A good person. Real kind hearted. Your talented in so many ways, you can dance, sing, play instruments and you are such a fast learner. I’ve gotten to know you more and im grateful to have been able to meet you. I hope we can stay this close forever and ever. I… LOVE YOU!”

Yixing laughs before walking over and hugging Minseok “Thank you Baozi”

Jongdae coughs slightly before starting his mini speech.

“Yixing-ah. You work so hard and I admire you a lot. Being your roommate I’ve been able to bond a lot more with you. You offer us so much support and we wouldn’t be EXO without you. Like Zitao said, Thank you for being you. Always showing your cute dimpled smile and annoying the, mind my language, out of Wu Fan and providing entertainment for us”

Wu Fan scoffs slightly and everyone chuckles at the fiery dragon

“You are forever lighting up the mood. Thank you Yixing-ah and happy birthday! I LOVE YOU TOO!” Yixing  feels tears b in his eyes at the speeches and hugs Jongdae real tight “Thank you and I will always continue to annoy the living hell out of Wu Fan, just for you”

“Ya Yixing your so getting it!” Wu Fan says jokingly

“Alright but before you kill Yixing let me say mine” Lu Han stands up from beside his boyfriend and grins that boyish grin of his at his close friend

“I felt real out of place when I first came here as a trainee and before I met all of you. But you befriended me straight away and I felt real comfortable because I didn’t have to worry about the language barrier. From you I met Wu Fan and Zitao. You helped me out of my bubble and helped me with my Korean. I feel real lucky to have met you Yixing-ah. You are truly wonderful. Thank you so much and happy birthday again. Your gege is always here for you and as the others say…I LOVE YOU YIXING-AH!”

Instead of Yixing making his way to Lu Han, Lu Han runs up to Yixing and practically glomps him. “Aish ge I still cant believe your older than me” laughing Yixing hugs him back “Thanks Luhannie”

“Now its me” Wu Fan stands up and smirks sending shivers down Yixing’s spine

He wouldn’t say anything bad right? Ha right…?

“You are such a tight , freaking annoying sometimes and I feel like throwing you out most of the time” Yixing pouts at Wu Fan’s words and right before his eyes, Wu Fan smiles a bright and loving smile

“But I couldn’t live without you. Your someone who I will never be able to replace and a much needed friend in my life. Happy birthday Yixing and I love you too. Always remember we are here for you okay?”

Grinning Yixing and Wu Fan share a more manly hug “Thanks Wu Fan and yeah I feel like throwing you around too and I would if it wasn’t for your boyfriend and his wushu”

Finally it’s EXO-K and the six stand together at the front of the room

It goes Sehun, Jongin, Kyungsoo, Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Jumyeon

“Happy Birthday Yixing ge!” Sehun starts grinning that adorable smile of his

“You are an amazing and bright person. A real inspiration. Always striving to do what you love. Always being there for the ones you love, protecting them” Jongin says next

“We all remember first seeing you and we agreed that our first impression of you was- a bright happy person. Everywhere you go, you shine and you touch everyone you meet” Kyungsoo says beside his lover, smiling happily at his hyung

“Like we all know you are talented and you shine in so many aspects. Your dancing is so remarkable hyung!” Happy virus Chanyeol exclaims, well, happily

“We all quickly knew that you are clearly something special. Someone who we all hold dearly” Baekhyun states in that strong voice of his

Finally Yixing’s eyes land on Junmyeon as Junmyeon prepares himself to speak

“Life is never a easy ride. We have ups and downs, there a large bumps on the way and road blocks. But don’t let that ever stop you. Be strong and hold on. We are all here for you, especially me. Happy Birthday Yixing-ah” he stops suddenly and Yixing can feel the tears his been holding in fall at last

“You are so special. I love you more than you could ever imagine. i don’t know where I’d be. You’ve been there for me and I’ll alaways be there for you. you’re an angel, my angel. “

Junmyeon stares lovingly at Yixing

“You mean the world to me angel. Happy Birthday”

Yixing feels as if his heart is going to explode

It was the first time Junmyeon said it. Said those words. And that meaning crushed Yixing both happily and painfully

He said he loves me? but he means it just like all the other members did right? As a friendly way? No way he’d mean it like I would say it. Oh my god my heart it…ing hearts

Before he is able to collapse in loud gut wrenching sobs, shocking everybody, Yixing is off sprinting out of the room and down the halls of SM Ent.

 “Yixing-ah!”

Yixing doesn’t turn around and instead stares straight ahead as tears stream down his face. Under the moonlight, Yixing’s facial expression can be clearly portrayed and depicted to be one in pain and utter sadness- conflicting emotions raging within him

“Why’d you leave like that?”

Junmyeon stands idly behind the younger, still trying to catch his breath from running around the whole of the company before face palming himself and going to the same patch of grass they were at before they were called by Tao

“Yixing-“

“I can’t. I can’t do it anymore. it hurts” Yixing’s voice breaks and he bites down on his lip

“Hey I-“

“Please don’t say anything. I’m sorry I ran like that I just felt…over whelmed. I’ll be okay” it takes a whole lot of strength within Yixing to turn around and plant a smile across his face “Let’s get back in”

Junmyeon abruptly grabs Yixing by the wrist before he walks past him and holds him there “Tell me what’s wrong. What hurts?”

Yixing holds his breath and furiously shakes his head from side to side

“Yixing I-“

“Hey”

Wu Fan’s voice breaks them apart and for once Yixing is glad that someone is blocking them

“Buddy are you okay?” Wu Fan asks. The other members are standing behind them worriedly

“I’m okay. Sorry I was just  overwhelmed. Thank you everyone” Yixing bows slightly and Junmyeon smiles despite the pang in his heart

“GROUP HUG!” Tao shouts eagerly as everyone rushes in to share a tight hug

“Hey I just thought of a cheer” Jongdae says grinning that grin everyone loves

“What is it baby?” Minseok asked from beside him. Everyone turned to watch Jongdae curiously, the latter offering them small smiles

“Okay hands in and repeat after me”

Tao was first followed by all the others who piled in their hands, one over the other.

“WE ARE ONE!” Jongdae started. “WE ARE ONE!” Everyone else yelled

“WE ARE EXO!” Jongdae screamed louder “WE ARE EXO!” the others followed

“One two three” Minseok counted down

“WE ARE ONE! WE ARE EXO!” the 12 boys of EXO screamed as they released their hands into the air. Junmyeon watches Yixing from across the circle and their eyes eventually found each others.
